Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

I’m glad we finally have a release date! Can’t wait to get these, hopefully they just stay up this time unlike the Venomosaurus set. -

I’m going to display Tazer and Blazer with my MCU armors, but knowing that the prototype suit isn’t meant to be the Mark II it’ll go in a row with the rest of the comic/non-MCU armors. I wish LEGO would’ve given us Striker, why did they tease it in the first place? -

I called customer service. They said that the new Avengers sets were supposed to launch today but something has delayed them, and to just keep checking the website because they still might release today. -

So when are the sets releasing in the US, then? The Hall of Armor expansion is cool but with 5 figures I wish we would’ve gotten another new suit like Striker. Why did they tease that one? Getting the Mark 2 is nice but it should really use the regular MCU helmet mold. -

Nothing’s up on the US site yet except the HP and Falcon minifigure packs. -

These sets are incredible! Very happy to get a comic Rescue, and the unexpected inclusion of two new suits in Avengers Tower is amazing. I’ll have to buy more copies of the Hall of Armor or wait for the new one to keep up with all the suits. -

Maybe, but the Monkey King Warrior Mech has the most painted gold pieces of any set, and that’s still got a decent price per piece ratio. I’d like to see more angles of this helmet. Is that rumored Hulk sculpture set still coming? -

Ugh...I was really excited for this set but it doesn’t look as good as I was expecting. The front looks really awkward and heavy around the “eyebrows”. Hopefully it looks better in person. Also, 480 pieces but $60? How is this the same price as the Star Wars helmets while having 200 pieces less? -
Glad to hear you got it! I got my order in at 8:55 AM but North America seems to have enough of these sets in stock. I have such a backlog of sets to build going back to March and I prefer to build smallest to largest, so I probably won’t get to the Haunted House for another few weeks.

It doesn’t seem to be available to add to bag yet. Maybe it’ll be up for purchase at around 8 AM EST like some sets. I’m annoyed but I’m gonna go to bed and try to get it in the morning, hopefully it doesn’t sell out quickly.

Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
GoldenNinja3000 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I fully expect multiple Harry figures in the D2C, at least two. As long as they don’t go overboard with multiple versions of multiple characters I think it’ll be fine. I’m expecting 12-15 minifigures but definitely hoping for more! -

I agree with both of those points, but LEGO now makes sets for every MCU movie, and with Star Wars they’ve shown that they’ll make sets based off of a Disney+ series. With the Disney+ Marvel shows being treated as a major part of Phase Four and comparable to the films, I think LEGO will make sets for them eventually, even if it’s months after they release. -
LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
GoldenNinja3000 replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Themes have different budgets and that’s always been the case. No one expected the level of quality from the LEGO Movie sets to continue into normal lines, and Monkey King is clearly a very high budget theme at least during its debut. Pouring more money into an original in house line than into a licensed theme makes sense to me even if I wish licensed themes got the same budget. Also, what are these “inflated price” adult sets? The only adult sets released so far (Star Wars Helmets and the Haunted House) have normal to great price per part ratios, and seem about what you’d expect in terms of value for the actual item, which is a bit overpriced for the Star Wars sets and a good value for the Creator Expert set. -

I don’t think this would happen. Rose Tico had a normal flesh colored head (as did her sister) two years after Dr. Wu from Jurassic World used this light nougat (?) skin tone. Cho should definitely have a normal light flesh colored head in LEGO. People can be different colors even if they’re from the same ethnic background. LEGO also used a weird skin tone for the Ian Malcolm minifigures that wasn’t the usual flesh color, so I don’t understand some of their choices. I love that we’re getting Hannah Abbott, as I like getting named students and of course she ends up marrying Neville so she’s slightly more important than another random Hufflepuff would be in my eyes. Also, I think reusing faces is perfectly fine for very minor characters like her, and at least she reuses a rarer face print and not one of the insanely generic Star Wars ones like Jyn Erso’s. -

The Mandalorian doesn’t have just 2 sets, it’s got 5. The AT-ST Raider in October 2019, Mandalorian Battle Pack in January, BrickHeadz dual pack in August, Razor Crest in September, and info was recently leaked about a Baby Yoda sculpture set like the big Yoda from October 2019. With all that considered I think a single set for Falcon and the Winter Soldier after its premiere is likely. The minifigure pack is awesome! Nice to get Black Widow in such a cheap way and Falcon is a cool new figure although I dislike those wings. -

I completely agree. Yeah, the Spider-Man wave in January was a lot like the 2019 sets, but the builds were still pretty decent (I especially love the crawler bike). The Avengers sets were basic because they were just another oversized bike and a truck, but they were well designed and the truck especially had a cool new feature. We also really can’t complain about minifigures this year, as they’ve been amazing. Some of them have problems (looking at Taskmaster) but we’ve gotten a few new characters, a load of detailed new variants, and the summer sets are giving us villains we haven’t seen in at least 4 years (Red Skull and MODOK). Considering 2020 ended up as pretty much an off year for the MCU, I think the sets are just fine, but I am excited to return to MCU sets next year. -

My dream What If set would be a $20 set based on the first episode with that clunky Iron Man suit as the build, Captain Carter, skinny Steve, and Howard Stark as minifigures. The suit could probably be repurposed into Iron Monger as well. -
The set was probably in production before the pandemic affected the factories. Pirates of Barracuda Bay had a certain number of units and the reason that it’s out of stock is because all those units were sold, and they aren’t producing more right now because I hear the Mexico factory was shut down. So once the Haunted House sells out, I’d expect it to be unavailable for a little while as well, until production starts getting back to normal.

Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
GoldenNinja3000 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I also think we’ll get a set for the Falcon and the Winter Soldier show at some point. It might not have been scheduled for August, but maybe LEGO was going to make a set for a January 2021 release because that would have allowed for a small wave of Disney+ sets (Falcon, WandaVision, and Loki). I’m still hopeful that we’ll see a set after the series releases. The only series that I think wouldn’t get sets are WandaVision (as right now all we know is that it’s a sitcom and whatever happens in the crazy second half is unknown to us) and probably What If, as characters from What If like T’Challa Star-Lord and Captain Carter would probably be SDCC exclusive figures. I think LEGO will certainly make Disney+ sets at some point in the future, even if it’s not until the 2022 series while they wait to see how popular the shows are. -
Yeah, I hate the way they distribute the ninja sometimes. I no longer follow the show like I used to (last season I watched was 5 and I’m trying to catch up), but I vaguely know what’s going on in each season. I still like getting some new sets and collecting each season’s ninja variants, but stuff like only 3 ninja getting Burst variants really annoys me! Or the Golden variants, with Golden Zane being in a completely different style to Golden Kai from a couple years ago. I really hope they make a Prime Empire Zane in the future, and he would’ve been so easy to include in the Kai Fighter set instead of Tournament of Elements Lloyd for the third time this year On the subject of Legacy figures, while I’d prefer updated versions of the original figures (with their accurate faces and hair), I don’t really care about the figures as much as I care about the awesome new builds themselves. I hate how the show redesigned the ninja to look more like the movie and I really miss the old faces and hair pieces. The villains are mostly a downgrade in my opinion. Kozu and the stone warriors were better in 2013 and 2016, using the smaller armor and Samurai X mouth guard really doesn’t work for them. The Nindroids are okay but if that’s supposed to be General Cryptor in the Kai Fighter I’m definitely not happy with that weak armor piece compared to his elaborate original one. The Serpentine are good although I wish we had gotten a new Skales, and the Skulkin are okay. Although I preferred the older heads, the new skull molds are more versatile and are used very well in the sets this summer. I do want more villain builds, like a proper $100 Great Devourer set with a great brickbuilt snake. That’s what I wanted most as a kid watching Ninjago and I’d love to see LEGO do a set like that!

Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
GoldenNinja3000 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah, I’m talking about the Marvel shows only, sorry if that wasn’t clear. The Mandalorian is just fine but there’s no way Falcon and the Winter Soldier can release in August and although WandaVision is done filming, I doubt they’d move up the release to August since Doctor Strange 2 now releases in March 2022. Hopefully we get sets when they do release, I wouldn’t be surprised if they skipped sets for WandaVision (although I would be sad), but I think Falcon and the Winter Soldier definitely needs at least one set. -

I’m not thrilled to be getting another Hall of Armor so soon, but the Disney+ shows are almost definitely being delayed and there’s still time for them to get sets later. The Mandalorian only got one set before release and it’s gotten 4 and counting after release with the best parts of the show. I’m excited for the armory set because we can get awesome new Iron Man suits and I wouldn’t have been disappointed at all if we had known about it since the beginning, but I think people (myself included) feel a bit cheated because we expected a Disney+ set and instead it seems to be just a smaller version of a good set we got a year ago. -

Another Hall of Armor set so soon feels a bit like a waste, I have to admit. I would’ve preferred a Disney+ set for sure. Hopefully the set does connect to the original and include some cool new armors, but I just feel like it’s an odd choice. -

In just2good’s latest video, he mentions a rumored D2C. Is there actually any credible D2C rumored to exist? I thought they were just wishes from fans and not real rumors, but I’d be happy to be proven wrong since I’d love to see a D2C for this line.
