  1. I'm finally pulling the trigger on that Spider-Helicopter set from 2014 so I can get Mary Jane and Power Man. I'm just going to add more characters to the display and have it be a very chaotic corner of my city, which is better than my original city display from a couple years ago that had supervillains running amok and causing destruction everywhere. I'm not sure if I'll modify any characters, though. I'll probably swap in the original Carnage and maybe the full Sandman figure since I prefer those variants, and Gwen could use some modifying but I might as well whip up a whole new purist custom out of recycled parts for her.
  2. I honestly don't get all the complaining about the reused figures. We're getting 25 figures in a $300 licensed building with 3800 pieces that's nearly 3 feet tall and modular compatible. I never expected a set like this to be made, and I definitely wasn't expecting any more than 10-15 figures. 10 of the 25 are reused but we have a good number of exclusive characters and a great number of civilians/employees. The reused figures are just great extra additions to me, and it's not like there are any other recent Spider-Man minifigures that I would've liked to see reused here instead, except maybe Spider-Man Noir. As for new minifigures, I would've loved a civilian Miles to accompany the other two and a new comic-based MJ, but I don't think the set suffers from their absence. Compare this to a set like Diagon Alley and I definitely think the Daily Bugle has a better minifigure selection. I would've loved some more civilians in a set like that even if they didn't use any new prints.
  3. I love the Daily Bugle! Not a huge fan of the color since I expected a tan building and not a modern steel and glass skyscraper, but it's an incredible build. I didn't think LEGO would ever make a building this tall - it's almost the height of my 10-story modified Avengers Tower, which was meant to be the only gigantic building in my city display. Getting 25 minifigures is insane and I love how many civilians and employees we're getting. A couple of the reused faces (Rey and Tina Goldstein's) annoy me, but I don't mind most of the other reuses. Can't wait to get this and I really hope we see more Marvel modulars in the coming years!
  4. Wow, this news is absolutely insane! I’m so happy to see LEGO going back and redoing sets from earlier movies. I’m really hoping the $150 set is something awesome like the Sanctuary II, but I also love the idea of it being Asgard. I’m hoping for a couple more figures in the Endgame set. My wanted figures list for Endgame includes Cap, Hawkeye, Widow, Iron Patriot MK II, Scarlet Witch, Captain Marvel, and a proper Thanos. I think we could see Rhodey in this one but then again, maybe not because I don’t know if there’s a good armor piece that already exists for his suit and that would be a highly detailed figure in a set that already has a (hopefully new) bigfig and a new mold for Korg. I’m guessing that the CMF is MCU-based for sure now, and that it’ll supplement these movie sets. I still can’t believe this is all happening for LEGO Marvel in a single year!!
  5. I had to come back here to talk about the Korg piece! I didn’t think we’d be getting a figure of him out of nowhere now. I think it makes sense to be from the D2C, but I can’t see the Statesman being made (especially not at $350) and while I really want it to be the Sanctuary II I think it would be a hard shape to capture in LEGO, we haven’t really seen the interior as someone else pointed out, and again $350 seems a bit big for a ship like that. I also doubt the D2C is Avengers Tower because we just got one (although I’d love a giant one). I guess it could be a proper Avengers HQ, but once again $350 for a location build like that seems insanely high. I really don’t know where else Korg could show up though. I like the Shang-Chi theory but until we find out what the D2C is I’m not ruling anything out. Hopefully we get more info soon!
  6. If it’s MCU based, I definitely want proper Endgame versions of Cap, Black Widow, and Hawkeye. I’d also like one or two new Iron Man variants (but not a ton), villains like Ego and Zemo, and I’d really love to get black and white versions of Wanda and Vision. If it’s comic based I want classic versions of the main six Avengers and others like Scarlet Witch and Vision, but I also want some new characters like the X-Men or Fantastic Four, and if the series is only 12 minifigures then it would fill up really quickly with just comic versions of MCU characters. I hope the series is at least 16 minifigures (although I really want it to be 20).
  7. I really want comic versions of Vision and Scarlet Witch. I hope we do see some Disney+ sets in the summer because I think they could be pretty cool concepts and builds, especially if they come out after the series so there’s no risk of spoiling anything.
  8. I can’t believe we’re actually getting a Marvel CMF series! This is a dream come true. I really hope we get more than 12 figures, though. I’m also holding out hope that the $40 summer set is for WandaVision. Are those prices for Marvel only or both themes?
  9. I can’t wait for Season 15 of Ninjago! I think the sets are going to be really awesome and from what I’ve seen it’s going to be my favorite Ninjago season in years. Nadakhan isn’t the villain as far as I know, but I’d love to see him return because he was a great character.
  10. I’ve been off of Eurobricks for a while, and I’ve really missed everyone’s theories about upcoming sets! The spider lair looks good in the HD images although still too expensive and we really didn’t need another Iron Spider. I love the little references to the PS4 game, Fantastic Four suit, and the Daily Bugle! Regarding Holland’s third movie, a scooper has confirmed that all of the villains will have new designs. I hope that we get more than 3 sets because then we have a better chance of getting as many new minifigures as possible. I definitely want to see a figure of Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy and easily obtainable Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire Spider-Man figures! Is there any more information about the Super Heroes D2C set next year? Do we know when it releases? I almost forgot it existed!
  11. I love that we’re getting a Marvel D2C next year, but I’m also sobbing because with how expensive Harry Potter is going to be, I have no idea how I’m going to afford both of these themes! I can’t even think about what this D2C would be - I’d be guessing Avengers Tower if we hadn’t just gotten one a few months ago, and I really want to see a UCS Quinjet or Milano, but I can’t see those costing $300 (they seem more like $200 sets). Hopefully it’s based on Infinity War or Endgame, or it’s a 10 year anniversary set even though it’s been 13 years. I hope we get some more info soon.
  12. A $250 Ninjago City Docks-style expansion to Diagon Alley with Gringotts and a couple other shops like Madam Malkin’s and Eeylops would be perfect to me. Personally, I think it’s too early for Hogsmeade and I’m hoping that’s not the D2C. I’m shocked we’re getting another one so soon at all, and kind of worried about how expensive HP is looking next year! The Monster Book GWP looks cool, it’s just such an odd choice for a free gift to me. Hopefully the play feature is interesting.
  13. This new set looks incredible, but I’m so pissed off at LEGO’s decision to include two exclusive minifigures in the SDCC Marvel sets for two years in a row now. Yes, it’ll probably be available to a much larger number of people now, which is great, but for everyone in other countries it’ll still be hard to get. I like it best when LEGO does exclusive sets like the Wonder Woman one- repeated minifigures with a unique build and an exclusive print. I really hope this is available on Shop@Home in the US, and at least aftermarket prices for people in other countries will hopefully be closer to $100 than $300. I totally get how irritating these sets being exclusive to the US is, but seeing as how they were meant to be exclusive to an event in one city before this I’m glad they’re more widely available at all.
  14. That sounds awesome, I was hoping we’d get a big weird spaceship with these sets! I really can’t wait to see them, I think they’ll be very unique. With WandaVision confirmed for 2020 I hope we’ll also see a retail exclusive set that isn’t delayed, but I think I’m getting my hopes up.
  15. Yeah, MODOK was in Paul Rudd’s script which definitely isn’t the final script for the movie. However, they’ve been considering bringing in MODOK for a while, and Agents of SHIELD was going to use him as the villain for Season 7 but the writers said Marvel took him away from them after they had already started developing it. Why would Marvel take MODOK away from the TV team unless they want to use him in a movie? I think MODOK may be the main villain and Kang will be a larger threat being set up for Avengers 5. It’s also possible that Majors was cast so early because he’ll be appearing in Loki. The 2021 sets sound okay but not great. A new Ghost Rider is awesome (hope it’s Robbie!), a Spider-Man hideout could maybe be like the Spidercave thing in Into the Spider-verse, and Iron Man vs Thanos could be a cool little set. A Carnage “helmet”, though? Very odd choice. Why would they make organic creatures for a helmet line when there’s plenty of other helmets they could do before him, like War Machine, Rescue, Black Panther, or Captain Marvel? And if you’re going to do a symbiote, why Carnage before Venom? And what ever happened to the Hulk bust we were supposedly getting in 2020? There’s a lot of potential in these 18+ sets for Marvel but I don’t think these helmets are being done well so far.
  16. Well, it’s embarrassing that I own that set and forgot how many prints it had! It’s still 11 prints vs like 24 stickers, but it’s all just added detail. Regardless, I doubt the HP sets will have as many prints. They seem to be aimed for a slightly older audience if they’re $10 more expensive and contain actual minifigures. The storybook sets remind me of Juniors ones due to the large molded pieces and high price, and I don’t think the HP books will be quite the same.
  17. Those book sets are absolutely drowned in stickers. There are only two printed elements in each one, one half of the book base and then the princess design on the cover. Some sets have extra printed elements like the sheet music in Ariel’s book, but all of the decoration around the sides and on the base of the book are (optional) stickers, which is definitely how I’m expecting these books to be.
  18. It’s interesting that we’re getting winter sets! These books sound like a great new concept, and I’m excited to see how they turn out. I’m expecting them to be more sophisticated versions of the Disney ones. The mosaic is also awesome, I adore the Art line and I can’t believe they’re making one for Harry Potter. I’m confused about what it is, though- can you build one house crest at once and they encourage you to buy 4 copies to combine into a large Hogwarts crest build, or is it just the Hogwarts crest? The first option makes the most sense to me since it follows the path of the other mosaics where LEGO wants you to buy multiples, but you’d end up with so many extra pieces in different colors for the different house crests- much more than the 800-900 leftover studs/tiles in the current sets. It’ll also be very expensive but I’d definitely save up and get 4 of them. 2021 is looking much more expensive than I had anticipated already. Has anyone in the US/Canada ordered their box of minifigures from Minifigure Maddness? I was charged €31 for VAT even though it’s being shipped to Canada and the VAT cost shouldn’t be applicable to me, but they told me it was for “duties and taxes”. Now that the item has been shipped, DHL is charging me a further $27 CAD for more duties and taxes. I don’t understand why I’m paying twice the tax- when I ordered the summer sets from BRICKshop.nl the VAT amount didn’t apply to me, so I’d like to know if anyone else is experiencing this issue as well!
  19. I’m sure we’ll get one next year or in 2022 for her Disney+ series or Captain Marvel 2. Of course it’ll be MCU-based as opposed to comic or game based but I’m still excited to get a new figure of her!
  20. Not always. Black Panther and Captain Marvel got January sets for a February/March release, and on the other end you’ve got outliers like Aquaman which got a set in August for a December release.
  21. The 1989 Batmobile is one of my favorite sets and I think it’s one of the best-designed ever, and I’m really excited for this Batwing, but I’m also kind of mystified and annoyed. First of all I really dislike how we don’t know about D2Cs in advance anymore because it makes it really hard to save up for them. I also never expected a Batwing set to release just a year after the Batmobile! I wasn’t sure we would ever get one, honestly. It looks great and I hadn’t even thought about the possible minifigures yet but I’m expecting a repeat of the 1989 Batman and really hoping for a Pfeiffer Catwoman even if this vehicle wasn’t in Batman Returns. I hope we see more images and get more information soon- it seems strangely early for an instruction manual to leak for a November set.
  22. Oh, what I’ve been doing is first building it with all the studs and then taking a picture of the completed mosaic before building the frame and swapping out the studs for the tile for it to be hung!
  23. Awesome to hear, I loved the original Possession wave!
  24. So I’m building the Iron Man mosaic, and for each one you can put studs in the bottom right corner or put the printed Iron Man tile. However, for the Hulkbuster image, it says you should use 6 dark red studs to fill the space but I only have 1 left. Did anyone else experience this issue? I went through the instructions but can’t find any mistakes I made. It’s my third copy of the set so I can easily grab extras from another but it’s just very strange to me.
  25. I think it’ll be very hard to make other sets like this since the line is being sold as helmets (not busts), and I can’t think of any other Marvel characters that have a fully enclosed helmet. Maybe Ant-Man? I’d love to see Rescue and War Machine done in this way though.
