  1. Do they put early VIP release teasers on calendars anymore? I don’t recall there being one for the Haunted House but it still had an early release. I’m currently building the Burrow with only the AT left after this, and I’ve encountered some strange things while building. First off, I got an extra sticker sheet in the Privet Drive set- did that happen to anyone else? Also, I’m halfway through the Burrow and the pig’s eyes were misprinted with one being further down the side of the head, and I was missing a 1x2 plate in olive green and instead got a piece that isn’t even in the set’s inventory. I don’t think I’ve ever seen two issues like that in a set, and while it’s not a big deal it’s just odd to me since it seems to track with what other people have been saying about LEGO’s quality control slipping a little bit in 2020.
  2. This advent calendar looks great! I’m so glad Cho is included along with the twins, but now I can’t have every couple dancing in the Clocktower The builds are surprisingly good, I don’t mind The Triwizard Cup again since I think it looks great even if it’s too big, and I really love the Goblet of Fire and gramophone builds.
  3. Yeah, but I was afraid they’d do it anyway. Like how each time they’ve released an AT-AT in the last couple years, the Snowspeeder that’s been on the market for a year retires right before it releases. Obviously that’s not exactly the same thing but it’s the closest example I can think of.
  4. I think we’re likely to see something HP-related next week, but I don’t want to get my hopes up too high. I’d like to at least see the AC fully revealed to tide us over until the D2C and CMF. I’m surprised that this week is the piano, as I had almost forgotten it was coming! I’m super excited to see that so not too disappointed that it’s not Diagon Alley.
  5. Kind of surprised that the January Avengers sets and some Spider-Man ones are retiring already. I’m impressed that the Endgame ones, Captain Marvel, and December 2018 Spidey sets hung on for so long, though. And it’s a good sign that they aren’t retiring the Hall of Armor yet!
  6. I just built the Hogwarts Students pack, Room of Requirement, Forbidden Forest, and Hedwig! Hedwig is a fantastic build and the wing flapping was pulled off very well- I’m quite impressed with the designer. The RoR is a great little set but I think I may modify it to cover up the trans blue pieces from the outside, as it doesn’t look very hidden with those showing. Grawp is a good build and the centaurs are smaller than I expected but the new leg piece is awesome! Overall I’m very happy with these so far, and I’m incredibly excited to get into Privet Drive and the Burrow on my next day off!
  7. Exactly! It’s not like leaked D2C images drive me insane to the point where I’m going to actively avoid them. I’m just saying I prefer seeing them in HD for the first time rather than trying to pick out details on a tiny image. I feel like that’s a fairly common sentiment. Leaked minifigures, on the other hand, are exciting because they leak far in advance of sets and give us clues as to what’s in them.
  8. Because leaks are everywhere on Instagram, and I’m not going to avoid looking at the set if it does leak, especially not with everyone discussing it. I’m just saying I think it’s cooler when LEGO gets to reveal it in all its glory for the first time instead of seeing a grainy image on someone’s Instagram story. Like is there anyone here that actually prefers seeing poor quality leaked images before the HD ones? I love the excitement of leaks but for large D2Cs I like seeing the high quality pictures first, but it’s not like I can pick and choose what leaks to look at since we don’t know in advance when something leaks, I just see it on my Instagram feed when it does.
  9. I really hope pictures of the whole set don’t leak early. Seeing it for the first time with the official images and learning everything about it at once is better in my opinion. The NES leaked one day early which wasn’t too bad, but I hope DA doesn’t leak the same way. I do like the new Harry figure and it’s a good way to combine the PS/CoS versions into one short leg variant. I’m still hoping we get an older HBP Harry, though! All of my sets finally arrived from the Netherlands today! I’m super excited to start building them but honestly it’s even more exciting knowing that there’s still more HP sets coming in 2020 with DA and the CMF series!
  10. Yeah, but the sets still stand on their own. Obviously an extra DA building could also stand on its own but not to the extent that the Ninjago City sets could in my opinion.
  11. Holy crap! Very happy to be getting leaks and even happier that it’s a more obscure character! I’m surprised that one of the shops is his though. I hope it’s not too big but maybe this means we’ll be getting more shops than anticipated! I’d rather have 5 good size shops (Gringotts, WWW, Ollivander’s, Flourish and Blotts, QQS) and several smaller stall-style builds for things like the Owl Emporium, Madam Malkin’s, and Florian Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlor.
  12. Aren’t we still anticipating an early VIP release? If it’s got an early release in mid-August I’m sure we’d see it by the first week of August at the latest, but if it’s just a general September release then I don’t think it’ll be revealed for another month.
  13. Yeah, I’ve never understood the theory that a new mold being introduced in a licensed theme can’t be used anywhere else. Obviously many of them are very specific to the theme like hairpieces or helmets, but even the HP wands have been used in sets like the Treehouse, Corner Garage, and some Marvel sets. I don’t think introducing a piece in a licensed theme means it can’t be used anywhere else.
  14. I was pleasantly surprised when the Magical Treasury book showed up at my door yesterday, since in my experience books ordered from Amazon never arrive on their release day and I was expecting the package to be something else I had ordered. I haven’t even taken the figure out because I want to wait for the new sets to arrive before pulling out anything HP-related and making a mess, but luckily my sets have been cleared after being at customs for two weeks so hopefully I’ll have them soon!
  15. I think we’ll see the advent calendar first since the Star Wars one has already been revealed, and I’m expecting the CMF and D2C reveals to be very close together. I’m not expecting the D2C reveal before July 25th.
  16. Now that I’ve built the new Avengers Tower set, I have to say that I don’t like it as much as I thought I would. While it’s nice that it’s bigger than the 2015 one, the old one was much better in terms of features and what you could do with it. The blowing out the windows function on this one doesn’t work anywhere near as well as the old tower, the top floor of the new one is just wasted space compared to the stud shooters and deplorable drone on the original, and there was also a better deployment function for the Iron Legion suits in the 2015 set. The new set is definitely a great build, but it just doesn’t feel like as good of an upgrade as I expected.
  17. Yeah, I agree with this for sure. I LOVE the 2010-2011 sets as they’re the most nostalgic from my childhood and never had an issue with them as a kid or even now. The new sets just try so much harder to give us new things and more accurate designs and I really appreciate the love and attention poured into this theme, which is why when little things fall short of expectations like reused faces it doesn’t bother me too much. The only gripe I have with the reboot is the unprinted dress pieces on figures that really need printing.
  18. It’s listed as September 1st on the US website, but the August 1st date is probably still correct for other countries.
  19. Same here, they’ve been there for over a week. On one hand, I wish I had paid the €8 extra for DHL Express shipping, but on the other I was insanely busy in June and wouldn’t have been able to properly appreciate the sets when I was so stressed out. July is a lot calmer and I’m just hoping the sets come soon. I don’t regret importing them (yet) especially since all the August sets appear to be delayed until September here in the US.
  20. Yeah, I’m also disappointed that they never made a Bat-Train, although I do love the Bat-Space Shuttle set. I think the concept of a boat mobile command center is a lot cooler than a semi truck. I do like this new set, but my main gripe is that the space could’ve been used more efficiently, as it was in the original Agents set and the Ultra Agents truck. It particularly annoys me that the cab only has room for a single figure despite being absolutely gigantic.
  21. Exactly, that’s why I’m excited. Even characters from The Lost World would just be more minifigures in generic tactical or adventure gear or whatever, and I honestly believe there’s not really any figures worth making from the third movie. I most certainly don’t need minifigures of the annoying Kirbys. I think Dominion will give us a lot more variety in figures than we’ve had in the past which is where my excitement is stemming from.
  22. Well, we’d hopefully be getting new variants of characters like Maisie and Zia, but I’m excited for figures like older versions of the original trio, Lowery, Dichen Lachman’s character, and now Dodgson as well. I don’t particularly care about getting characters from The Lost World and Jurassic Park III as minifigures to be honest, except maybe Sarah Harding.
  23. Oh yeah, Zia is definitely a standout of the line and I love Ellie’s figure as well. I’ve just never really been excited about the figures because honestly after 2018 I just feel like it’s such an Owen and Claire overload, and they barely get new variants and don’t get new face prints. I’d really like some different expressions for Owen considering how many sets he’s been in over the last couple years. There are some nice figures occasionally like the park visitors in last year’s wave but this is the first time I actually care about seeing the figures instead of just the dinosaurs, if that makes sense.
  24. Wow, I ordered the sets yesterday at 9:00 AM and one of my packages is already out for delivery with the others coming tomorrow. That’s the fastest shipping I’ve ever seen from LEGO! Hopefully it’s a sign that things are slowly getting back to normal with their production and delivery.
  25. Yeah. Being able to rebuild it into three different suits was cool, but I was like “no, you have to resist”. Then I saw that you can make the giant mosaic out of three sets and now I’ll cave. I’m hoping they go on sale at other retailers eventually though.
