  1. You know, you can buy S10 in stores....
  2. Hmmmmm.... or maybe the friendly tribal hunter is going to help the lost explorer find his way home.
  3. Am I correct that the only set containing the Red Buggoid is the 70703 Star Slicer? It doesn't appear that any of the future 2013 sets will include that minifig...
  4. Could you please explain why you think these new sets are "[h]orrible" and maybe describe them in more detail? Do you think they are too "<insert that tiresome argument>" and have too many big pieces and not enough details? Are they just basic copies of sets that we have seen recently? Are the models not realistic enough? Do you not like the colors or the faction symbols? Are there no exciting new building parts or armor/weapons?
  5. This looks like a great set, and I enjoyed the review. Has anyone taken a photo of this set with the full party of the dwarves (the included ones plus all of the dwarves from the other Hobbit sets). Would love to see that scene!
  6. Maybe we need a volunteer to add a new post at the same time every day that summarizes everything that we know (with links to pictures/photos or backlinks to old posts in this thread). That way, the most current information would almost always be within the last couple pages.
  7. Excellent MOC!!! Highly recommend that you get a Flickr account and post these pictures there (and in the appropirate Lego LotR groups) so more people can see your amazing work!
  8. Kez, no worries. I know slogging through 14 pages of posts isn't fun, but try and skim through the topic before replying. You would have seen that many people have already compared the list of minifigs to Alexandre Boudon's designs.
  9. Wow. That sucks. I guess if you pre-ordered and don't get the Elrond minifig when the game is released, you should just return it and wait for it to go on sale for the holidays.
  10. I own all of the lead snakes except Pythor and unfortunately I think that the snake tails are too big to fit in the CMF packaging unless they do a new mold that makes the tail detachable from the lower body. If TLG does a Mesusa minifig (and I think they eventually will do so) then I think it will have regular human legs but have a new molded head or a new multi-snake headpiece that fits on a standard head. Hopefully, they will do the torso and leg printing in a way that it will work with the Serpentine lower body for those of us who already own the snake minifigs.
  11. More thoughts.... Alien Trooper - I think the bubble-headed alien in the Bourdon sketches eventually became the transparent-brain alien leaders of Alien Conquest. Would be strange to have another lime-green alien so soon after the Alien Queen in Series 8. Perhaps this is a four-armed alien (like from Space Police) or maybe an insectoid figure as a preview for next year's new Galaxy Squad theme? Maid Marion - I was thinking this would be a classic castle damsel figure but others are speculating this will be a redesign of the forestwoman. If that is the case, I will be a little disappointed because I would rather have a female CMF elf (in yellow) and there is some overlap there... Cyclops - I can't imagine this figure being very impressive (unless there is a new big head mold) so I just want to say that I am disappointed there will not be a medusa (snake head mold and Serpentine tail) or satyr (new leg mold and CMF werewolf hair/ears)... Dr. Splitz - Someone wrote that this might be a bigfoot/yeti type creature which would be epic! And probably more plausible than my Chima faction idea... Judge - I think it is more likely that she would have a parchment accessory than a gavel but I would be happy with either (as long as a new wig piece was there along with the long graduate robe) Battle Mech - I found some Star Wars droid references that I think would be similar to this minifig: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=sw359 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=sw300 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=sw312 Downtown cop - I like the speculation that this could be an English bobby or keystone cop (better than my plainsclothes detective)
  12. I like to imagine what the minifigs will look like based on the old concept art by Alexandre Bourdon: http://www.flickr.com/photos/65553751@N03/7030349557/in/set-72157629339292514 Alien Trooper - I wonder if this will be another Alien Conquest left-over like the Queen from Series 8. Any clues from the concept art? http://www.flickr.com/photos/44141621@N08/7153987997/ Chicken Suit Guy - could this feature the eagle/raven headpiece from Chima with chicken colors/printing? Could this figure have arm-wings like the manbat (only with feathers) or some of the new Chima wing-pieces? Maid Marion - Will this figure have the fancy, flowing headress from the blue-dressed figure with the mirror in Bourdon's sketch (row 2, column 5) or be more like the green-dressed fairy (row 3, column 3) with the flowered hairband (but obviously without the wings) Heroic Knight - Bourdon has a sketch of a Crusader knight with cross symbol, but I wonder if this will be a chance to make a better falcon knight than the one that showed up in the Kingdoms Joust set. http://www.flickr.com/photos/65553751@N03/7030345063/in/set-72157629339292514 Cyclops - I hope this isn't just a caveman with the Space Police cyclops head. Could this be a plan to use the Sponge Bob Patrick head with a printed single eye? http://www.flickr.com/photos/65553751@N03/7030345063/in/set-72157629339292514 Mermaid - I assume this will just be the PotC mermaid in yellow instead of flesh. Maybe a harp or some other accessory? Fortune Teller - Cystal ball? Some sort of Roma costume design? Maybe with Jack Sparrow hair with headscarf? Dr. Splitz - I think the will be an orange oranguatan figure compatible with the Chima universe. Perhaps signalling a new faction for Chima wave 2? Roller Derby Girl - I guess they won't be able to make skates with actual rolling wheels. :-( Judge - robes from the graduate figure with hopefully a new wig piece? http://www.flickr.com/photos/65553751@N03/7030345063/in/set-72157629339292514 Battle Mech - This will probably be something similar to the star wars droid minifigs because the scale needs to be small. Not an actual mech suit that a minfig can fit in. Caesar - Like concept in row 6, column 5 in Bourdon concept sketch. Downtown Cop - will this be more like a plansclothes detective? Aren't there enough uniformed policeman figures already? Plumber - like the mechanic but with a wrench and toolbox (or pipe?) Waiter - white tuxedo jacket? with a bottle or glass? Maybe a serving tray? Hollywood Starlet - Is this the Marilyn Monroe figure from row 1, column 4 from the Bourdon concept art? http://www.flickr.com/photos/65553751@N03/7030349557/in/set-72157629339292514
  13. Great review! I was wondering if the drummer's mohawk was pure lime or a sloppy lime/magenta mixture. Thanks for clearing that up! Not really seeing the value in picking the set up since I have all of the original collectible minifigs. I like the designs for the drum kit and speakers, but I can just add those pieces to my next bricklink order. The lime mohawk is a must-have piece, so hopefully that shows up on bricklink or ebay for a reasonable cost (magenta color mohawk sells for < $1). By the way, Brickforge makes drumsticks: http://www.brickforge.com/store/home.php?cat=410 Thanks again for taking the time to write the review!
  14. Robominer, there is definitely some truth to what you are saying. For example, I've seen very few Ninjago MOCs in this Action forum and I wonder if that has something to do with the cartoon and the fact that a lot of people might feel that they have to build something from the show or nothing at all? Or maybe it's just that most of the Asian-themed MOCs end up in the Historical Theme forum instead of this forum? <shrug> There are definitely some things from the Ninjago cartoon that are just screaming for MOCs: the serpentine treehouse, Ourobourus, Dareth's dojo, the Dark Bounty, the jalopy etc... are people waiting for official sets instead of trying to build them on their own?
  15. Most of these have been mentioned before: 1. brown ninja (doesn't really deserve a whole Ninjago set) 2. Chinese New Year lion dancer costume (new head mold) 3. chef with chef hat and sausage 4. violinist or country fiddler (in cowboy hat?) 5. ballerina with new tutu piece 6. good scientist with microscope or scanner (futuristic/space?) 7. soccer player with big silver trophy (or cricket or rugby player) 8. Native American woman (with hippie hair?) 9. Colonial American soldier (minuteman) 10. Ancient scholar (with scroll and printed toga) 11. Classical composer (with powdered wig and sheet music) 12. dwarf blacksmith with war hammer 13. female equestrian (hair-hat piece similar to Olympic minifig) 14. zookeeper with koala (or panda bear cub?) 15. female businesswoman in suit with briefcase and cellphone 16. female cat-burgler with sack and printed mask head
