Axle Collection Thread
Kiwi_Builder replied to efferman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm interested in checking out the LDD file for it, but your link doesn't appear to be working. Instead of giving the download it just takes you to the DoktorBrick.de website Could you please fix it up so that we can download the file? Cheers -

Kiwi_Builder replied to cemus's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I built a steering rear axle on my container sidelifter trailer, I'll take some photos for you when I get home -

I have no problem with you Photoshopping my photo What changes did you make? Because as far as I can see it's still exactly the same. I did a second image with the truck fully expanded the other night, and it has much lower contrast: I'm much happier with this one for sure. -

Cheers mate I've just completed my first photo and I'm really happy with it, so much better than MS Paint (surprise surprise ). This is the original image: And this is the GIMPed version: I'm definitely not perfect at it yet and the exposure is a bit off, but other than that it's awesome! -

I initially tried it in Gimp, but I have no idea how to use it, it made no sense to me at all I couldn't work out how to delete the background completely, so I decided that if I couldn't do that then I might as well just use MS Paint instead. -

Not 100% photography, but it's what I just put together for my channel cover image, a collection of three of my MOCs I have done. It took five hours of MS Paint work to change all of the backgrounds to plain white and compile them together, but I'm pleased with the result I have achieved -

Cool little MOC It's a very nice build to have as your first public one after your dark age, I look forward to seeing more from you -
I've been building in the garage for the last few months now, and it seems to be working pretty well These two were back at the start of the current project, everything was so tidy and organized  It now looks like this, I'm about half way through the project and you can see how big it is: And just a little shot of the project so far I really need to have a tidy up

I don't know how I missed this the first time, but I love it! I have wanted to build a 4x4 spreader for a long time which isn't quite the same as this, but apart from the drills on the back instead of spreading mechanism it's the same truck. It looks great and it has the perfect tyres for it (krisandkris21 this type of truck has tyres just like this). Well done and congratulations on the HOF

Good job as always mate I prefer the looks of the front of this Scania over your last one, and it doesn't rely on stickers to resemble one. This has turned out well and I can't wait to see the video

8839 Supply Ship Studless
Kiwi_Builder replied to M_longer's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I love this! I like ships and I (obviously ) like Technic, so this is really cool! It inspires me to give building a watercraft a go some time, I have a cool idea in mind involving the 42042 crawler crane and an excavator -
[MOD] 9397 B model
Kiwi_Builder replied to aminnich's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
My main thing is that for an 8x4 tractor unit like you are going for, the chassis is far too long. To give you an idea, this is the chassis of the truck I am working on at the moment to go with my container sidelifter trailer: And for a cabover like yours it would look like this: My recommendation would be to remove the fake fuel tanks and have it so that the axle is immediately after the XL motors. Once I have my chassis built I will be able to show you how it looks. One way to make it look shorter is to make it a sleeper cab. You may also be going for a long chassis look, but I was just adding my input like this as that 8x4 tractor units are quite common in NZ so I have some experience with them Other than that it looks good, I like what you were going for and apart from the chassis length (IMO) you have pulled it off nicely, well done -
Thanks NXT, I finished it in July last year and the complete model thread is here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=112061&hl= I made my first YouTube video for it and took it to the local Lego show

This is what I've been working on in collaboration with Ingmar for the last couple of months, it's been finished for about a month but I never got around to posting it  There are two things I did with this, I both modified the paint scheme to match TNL Freighting's colours (which is now my profile image ) and I did some more major modifications in the form of extending the chassis, changing the cab to a Normal day cab without air kit instead of Topline sleeper as Ingmar had it and converting it into a 1980's style log deck. I had to move the battery box to mount on the side of the chassis instead of in the cab because of it being a day cab, but I created a custom cover to go over the battery box to make it look good. Both of these were done in LDD and I hope to turn the log deck into a real life model once I can get the required pieces. The log deck was based off of this truck: Sorry about the size but I don't know how to make it smaller easily. More screenshots of both trucks can be found here: http://bricksafe.com/pages/Kiwi_Builder/studded-builds
