  1. Gotta love that rock music Usually listen to whatever is played on the radio station but the NZ band Shihad would have to be one of the best, along with hard rock and 70's rock like Led Zeppelin is great all that kind of stuff. There are times when I want something a bit cruisier like when building on holidays in the caravan where Fat Freddie's Drop and Salmonella Dub are great. Gotta set the right atmosphere for building. Can't stand any of the popular music nowadays, it's painful IMO. Time to stop rambling on or I'll be here forever
  2. Yeah those are the ones, good to hear that they can be replaced by the universal joints, sorry for the long reply time but was away for a while
  3. Is there very many people in LUG 4/2 involved in Technic because from looking through the photostream I couldn't see any. Because if there are other people there using Technic then it's more likely that I'll join.
  4. You can add me to Christchurch, New Zealand mate
  5. That's a really cool C-model, don't see very many motorbikes let alone sidecars! It looks realistic too, more so IMO than some of the official motorbike sets. Good job
  6. Glad I stumbled across this again Beauty of a car that, I hope it sounds right though Did you end up making instructions for it?
  7. Here are a couple of websites that might be of interest to your search, the carjam website has all the main information on the specific truck (Numberplate search ) and the other havs some photos and information on the truck and the work it does. If you need any more images/information just let me know, when I find more I'll add them to here Enjoy! http://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=evldog http://www.xtrucking.co.nz/content/evil-dog
  8. I'm a New Zealander so next country over from Australia and IMO better I can indeed find some more pictures where that came from, do you want more of Owens Mack Visions or just Visions or Owens trucks in general? I reckon that 140 years is a pretty big ask given what your list of wants must be! Better get to work on building that list so in 140 years I can see it Those cabs do look very similar indeed The main difference would have to be the slightly gentler slope on the bonnet of the vision/Pinnacle and the different headlights. Good on ya and keep up the good work
  9. Sounds like you've done your homework Yeah it would be interesting to see a comparison between the two, on another note could I give you a request for a future build. When you are next looking for a truck to build I would like to see a Mack CH688: They're a few years old now but they look pretty nice and have good curves for having a bit of challenge without being impossible. I have been wanting to build one myself but have been lacking the parts to do it. Not too worried if you don't make it but I would love to see what magic you could work with it
  10. Looks great mate, but my first impressions from this truck is of it being a Mack Vision. Either way it looks great, can't wait for the video
  11. £112? That's $218NZD! We can expect to get it for $350NZD/£180. You lucky fellas up close to the Lego factory
  12. How about some make of truck that is used as a 4x4 spreader like here: It doesn't have to have dual rear wheels but is this the kind of thing you were looking for?
  13. Doesn't look too bad but off topic a little bit, can you show us some photos of the chassis and drivetrain? I am interested in learning what the technique you used for the axles is and seeing how it works.
  14. Thanks for that D3K, I have been having the same problem as Dave, thus I spotted what was going on. I'll have a fiddle around with my dump bed keeping that in mind when I get to that stage in my build
  15. Deciding which is better depends on what you want to do with your Lego and what you have. For someone like me, I only have a reasonably small collection of studless Technic (Maybe 6,000 pieces ) which is what I have to work with. I would like to use studded building because it gives nicer bodywork, but for building the mechanical side of things you want to have studless Technic for ease of construction. I have about 50,000 non Technic Lego pieces but they aren't organised and they are all in different colours so they are a bit useless! Studded building is good except for the fact that it is extremely hard to get enough of the right pieces and have all of the pieces you have in the right colour, whereas with studless building I have found it very easy to get the pieces I need in the right colours just from sets. So as I said at the start, it completely depends on what you do with your Lego but for me studless is easier to get and make mechanisms with but studded looks far better for bodywork.
  16. In your video the dump bed starts in the video part of the way up already, is this because is has problems with the tipping at the very start of the movement? When I build dump trucks I have the same issue
  17. I would highly recommend the 42030 loader, the 42009 mobile crane, the 42008 tow truck and the 42029 4x2 ute with suspension. They all come with a great selection of parts and make it very easy to start building creations from them. Although I have many Technic sets I hardly ever end up using parts that didn't come from one of those four sets.
  18. The test was done with an M motor, not an XL. An XL motor would probably give closer to 4kg.
  19. I'm pretty sure what you think is a grinding sound is actually just the standard motor sound. Did it always make this sound or did it start all of a sudden?
  20. Thanks mate On this post you can get some more info on that truck: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=104708#entry2108100 I'm hoping to post a new truck to go with 42030 in the next week or two
  21. Looks good but you need to add dual wheels to the rear axles otherwise it looks unrealistic but other than that it looks great
  22. This is crazy! I see lots of people do things like this but I have no idea as to how you manage to make Lego do things like this, without a motor too Well done and welcome to Eurobricks
  23. Do you have to be in the LUG 4/2 to have a display at the show or can you just pay and get a display because I'm thinking of displaying this year
  24. @TheLegoExpert I have created an LXF for both the standard gearbox design and an LXF for the gearbox design using the old driving rings. NOTE: When using the standard design file replace the 2 wide driving rings and the connector that it sits on with the 3-wide ones, as that LDD doesn't have the new rings in it yet Sariel's 4 Speed RC Gearbox 1.1 Using 2-Wide Driving Rings.lxf Sariel's 4 Speed RC Gearbox 1.1.lxf
