Effe's MOC Corner
Dafgek81 replied to efferman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That I understand, but what I meant was is there a point where the modified chassis will fit with the rest of the original or does it need 100% new instructions? -

Very Nice those leafsorings, any chance on instructions that would match with the original buildinginstructions off the original truck? -
I have to agree with MLobger on the lights, they are in the wrong place. If you fix that, it would be like the real one.

[MOC] MAN TGS 8x4 Dump Truck
Dafgek81 replied to M_longer's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
A combination off the two would be very cool. -
Most of those covers in Europe are use to protect the wheel nuts on the front wheels from damage from curbs and obstacles. This is because the hubs stick out of the rims.

Would Love to see instructions for those foldable cranes from you Italian brick. Can't buy it till next year, but love to see if I can collect the extra parts for one of these cranes.

Well I am a truckdriver, so I know trucks. This truck had tires that are a little bit to small. And not all trucks used in construction and go off road or on bad roads are all wheel drive. I've been in many construction sites that where off road and the 6x4 did well, only the baddest places can be accessed by 6x6 or 8x8 trucks. But trucks used in construction like this one, should have higher and wider tires.

42043 Needs bigger tires, off road trucks have bigger tires than road going trucks, I think about 15% bigger and most of the time wider to. At least in the front, dumptrucks have narrow tires in the back, most of the time narrower than road going trucks.

For Dutch people, I have good experiences with marktplaats.nl Just wait a little while and this set is sold for about €20 to €30,- less than on or in Intertoys. And new in sealed box.

On the 42030 you should use the rim off the 8265 loader and fit a tire with the outer diameter from the tires off the 42030 loader. On real wheel loaders, the rim is about half the hight off the complete wheel.

Maybe you can find a way to widen the tracks. There are examples on Brickshelf or here on Eurobricks.

What a great looking machine, but doesn't it have the bucket the wrong way around? Don't they have the bucket facing the rockwal it's digging?
