I was using Plate1X1 W/3.2 Shaft/1.5 Hole (Part 20482) in LDD and noticed that in reality it only comes in four colours as stated on Brickset. I then noticed that in 2017 LEGO produced a similar but brand-new part: Plate 1X1, W/ 3.2 Shaft And 1.5 Hole (Part 31561) which comes in five colours as stated on Brickset. As I need to use these similar parts for builds which may possibly be recreated in reality or builds designed for LEGO Ideas (eventually), I hope that Part 31561 will be added to LDD soon so that I can accurately use the required part(s) in the correct colour(s). P.S., the top Brick on my wanted list will always be the Flat Tile 2x3 (Part 26603) plus all of the already available printed versions, as this Brick does not only help me reduce the Brick count greatly in some of my builds, but in some situations this Brick is crucial in connecting other Bricks together so that the design will not fall apart!

For the first time ever, I was able to confirm a new bug in LDD by testing one of the combinations with actual LEGO Bricks! If you follow the steps below to recreate the combination of Bricks you will see that the topmost part is currently not possible in LDD but works completely in reality! 1. Prepare either one of the Bricks below: Shaft 3M Ø3.2 (Part 87994), Light Sword - Blade (Part 30374), Standard Ø3.18 x 53 (Part 4095) or Stick 6M W/Flange (Part 63965). 2. Attach a Round Brick 1x1 (Part 3062) to the top of the first Brick. 3. Try adding a Plate or Flat Tile on top of the Round Brick (any one will do) and in LDD this connection is not yet possible! I was hoping to attach a Flat Tile 1x1, Round (Part 98138) onto the top of the Round Brick to prevent it from being attached to any Bricks further above, and this particular combination has been tested in reality to prove that it works completely!

Referring to my earlier post, I have tested the Bricks in question again by inserting a Red Cross Axle into two Transparent Tubes, one on each side. This screenshot shows the results where a gap is clearly visible in-between the two Tubes. As seen in Set 10257: Carousel and a few sets from The LEGO Batman Movie, two or more of this Tubes are often used right next to each other to form a series of pipes (which is also what I’m using the Tubes for in my current build). Therefore, could the issue in LDD be that the two hollow sections inside the Tube are not deep enough, or is the Cross Axle slightly longer than it should have been? Before I continue to build my pipes with two Tubes right next to each other I need confirmation that this connection is actually working fully in reality. If proved to be fully working I will scaffold one next to the other and place the Cross Axle aside then update my model when this connection is fixed in LDD. Thanks in advance!

I was looking at ways to connect the Design Shape W/ Tube, Crosshole (Part 25214) and discovered another bug in LDD. In Set 10257: Carousel, two of these in White are connected together to form the neck of the White Swan with the help of a 2M Cross Axle W. Groove (Part 32062) in Red. I intend to replicate this build with one of the tubes placed the other way round to form a sort of S-shape. However, even when I’ve inserted everything to the maximum there is still a gap in between the two tubes!

I’m running out of ideas...
suenkachun replied to suenkachun's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Thanks for the input. Let me clarify further what I am needing. For the railing, this screenshot can clearly show its requirements. It should be able to be attached to the two Knobs on the wall which have a height difference (the distance between the knobs can always be altered according to the Bricks being used on top), using the Phone (great idea BTW) or other similar Bricks. The issue which I have encountered is that I failed to rotate the Phone or other Bricks at a correct angle (after attaching it to one of the Knobs) so that it successfully attaches to the other Knob at a suitable distance. For the Tram Door, I am aware of the Lamella For Rolling Gate and someone already suggested to me that I use this Brick. However, the real Tram Door does not occupy the entire door space where the top half is hollow with only the thin pole sticking upwards. As a result, my ideal solution will be a door with a panel up till the lower edges of the windows then a stick until the ceiling, and the door panel will be somehow connected to the Tram itself on one side. If this is eventually deemed impossible I will reconsider using the Lamella For Rolling Gate. -
I have been stuck with the following LEGO building techniques for quite a while. Recently, I was asked to replicate a real restaurant together with parts of the actual street outside in LEGO Bricks, first in LDD then possibly in reality as well. As I tend to pay much attention to detail and therefore try and replicate everything accurately, I always try to find unique solutions in LEGO and LDD for some of the items. However, I have finally run out of ideas lately and would really appreciate some help here. Therefore, please refer to the individual links to the images with their descriptions and help me come up with LEGO versions of these items. All ideas are welcome as I’d love the input of every talented LEGO Designer. Thank you for everyone’s help and feedback in advance! The first item on my list is a Slanting Railing found in the restaurant’s toilet to better assist people in need. Building a horizontal or vertical railing in LEGO is easy but I couldn’t find a way to rotate one at an angle and successfully attach it to the row of Bricks below or above. https://www.dropbox.com/s/bczg44w4dxsk2p8/Slanting Railing.jpg. The second item on my list is a series of folding doors. To compliment the restaurant I am working on a very realistic LEGO version of a Hong Kong Tram. It features four pairs of folding doors on the two ends of the Tram on either side. Here is one of the pairs of folding doors near the front of the Tram: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4r5qpo8gf63j2pg/Tram Door Closed.jpg. Fun fact: the commercials on this particular Tram were of Hong Kong’s second LEGO Certified Store which opened this July! When the above Tram door opens it looks like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hmrx6yjsojdw215/Tram Door Open.jpg. To create enough space for the door to fold inwards a slanting step was added behind the door like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/amc0tbvl7mjp6to/Tram Door Slanting Step.jpg. From the above two pictures, we can see that the door is attached to the Tram in the front which moves forward and folds to open. There is a thin pole attached to both a guide rail near the ceiling of the Tram’s lower floor and the Tram door itself (in-between the longer panel) which helps the door to move. To better demonstrate the size of the LEGO version of the above door I have taken a screenshot of the front part of my LEGO Tram which shows the gap containing the door: https://www.dropbox.com/s/amc0tbvl7mjp6to/Tram Door Slanting Step.jpg. The height of the gap is 8 Bricks and 2 Plates or 2/3 Brick tall, and my ultimate goal is to have fully-functional pairs of folding doors on my LEGO Tram. The current folding doors which I have built are not attached to the Tram itself but only placed there and you have to move them manually. As I have built the door panels with Plates the thin pole is currently attached to them with the help of the Mini Fig. Back Plate W. Knob (Part 42446), meaning that it’s sticking out from the Tram slightly. If possible, I wish to develop a version with nothing sticking out at all. That’s all I have for now. As I mentioned before, all ideas are welcome as I’d love the input of every talented LEGO Designer. Once again, thank you for everyone’s help and feedback in advance!

Thanks for the information. So there must be something wrong with Brickset as seen in this link which shows an image of Part 75535 in White. Other than that, try searching for Part 75535 on LEGO’s Bricks & Pieces and all of the images are showing a tube with a knob on one side (currently all out of stock), so LEGO may also be wrong as well in this case. I’m aware of the other similar version which is commonly seen in a metallic colour and used together with Part 71076.

Part 75535 Tube Ø 7,84X16 seems to be incorrect somewhere. In LDD it appears to be a tube with two flat ends, so when I used it to build a series of water pipes I had to use a Connector Peg W. Knob (Part 4274) and a few Connector Peg (Part 3613) to connect everything together in the middle. However, when I checked online this Brick seems to already have a Knob on one side sticking out of the tube. Different LEGO Databases showed me different versions but on LEGO’s Bricks & Pieces the Brick is shown to have a Knob. Can someone clarify for me what this Brick actually looks like so that I can use it successfully in my latest build which may have a chance to turn into reality? Thanks in advance!

I once tried to build something in LDD which was large not in terms of the Brick Count but its physical size. With a staggering 32 48x48 Baseplates in a 8x4 arrangement this soon crashed my LDD as there was an infinity amount of connection points via the studs. I posted elsewhere on Eurobricks and was advised to remove the Baseplates to disconnect the model and before doing that someone managed to open my file by opening LDD with Maximum Compatibility Mode on and turning all Advanced Graphics off. Although another person kindly removed the Baseplates for me I still failed to open the modified file and eventually I rebuilt the model in a much smaller scale. This time the smaller build also started to crash unexpectedly so I immediately removed all the Baseplates (this time I only have 18 48x48 Baseplates in a 6x3 arrangement) before I continued building and the file is completely fine now, although you can see the white floor of LDD through the Transparent Blue Plates and in gaps where certain Bricks were built directly above the Baseplates but were then moved aside to form a construction site. Therefore, if your build is getting too large to handle you can choose to remove the Baseplates. On the other hand, disabling the Sound of LDD may help run your builds faster as it will supposedly help prevent LDD from crashing by loading less components. As mentioned in the previous post, using the Hide Tool is a great option but please remember that when you save your file the Bricks which were hidden will not be saved as hidden Bricks and when you restart LDD or reopen the file all Bricks will be shown again, so this may only be a temporary solution. Another thing to mention is related to the Graphics Card of your PC or Laptop. When an earlier build crashed LDD on my Laptop I emailed the LDD Development Team and they revealed that my Laptop had both an Intel Graphics Card and a more powerful NVidia Graphics Card. Under their suggestions I set the NVidia Graphics Card as the default one for all of my programmes and this proved to be very helpful. In addition, check if the properties of your Graphics Card(s) meet the basic requirements of LDD as in my case the Intel Graphics card did not have enough Dedicated Video Memory before I upgraded to Windows 10 (I only had 64 MB while LDD needed 128 MB, although it magically changed to 128 MB after the upgrade). Even after the upgrade, 128 MB was barely enough and using the NVidia Graphics Card was my best solution. Hope that my past experiences with LDD can help you finish your large builds with less problems to deal with.

Yet another random collision error which I found recently. As shown here the Tree is colliding into the Flower Stalk. This collison error may be more wide-spread than what is shown in the Screenshot as I’ve only tested this in one position: the one in the Screenshot. As a result, placing the Flower Stalk and/or the Flower in various other positions may also cause this error.

LDD Brick Version 2248.1
suenkachun replied to StarWars8Spoiler's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Then the best thing to do is either restarting LDD or reinstalling LDD after backing up important stuff. -
LDD Brick Version 2248.1
suenkachun replied to StarWars8Spoiler's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Did you check your LDD Brick Version? If it's not 2248.1 then restart LDD or simply reinstall LDD. But be sure to backup all your Templates, Groups and so on before doing so or you may loose them! -
LDD Brick Version 2248.1

LDD 4.3.10 Update Released
suenkachun replied to gedren_y's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
This time the update seems to be automatic, as I couldn't notice anything in my LDD until I read about it here. Therefore, just check your programme for the two things and you'll know if it's been done or not. -

Same here, was at least hoping for the 2x3 Flat Tiles, then I can finally start to reduce the number of 1x3 Flat Tiles in my builds. -

LDD 4.3.10 Update Released
suenkachun replied to gedren_y's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I just checked and nothing popped up on my LDD programme (Windows version), and on the LDD website it still says version 4.3.10, therefore could you explain a bit more on what you meant, such as which programme you are refering to and LDD’s latest version number if it’s LDD you’re talking about? Thank you very much. -
Here's another request of mine: the "Hinge Bucket 2 x 3 Curved Bottom, Hollow, with 2 Fingers" (Part 4626). I couldn't find on Brickset but it was listed on Bricklink here. Although this seems to be an older brick which only existed between 1984-2001 (timeline taken from Rebrickable) some of our construction vehicles could benefit from a smaller bucket as most diggers nowadays have huge shovels/technic shovels which are at least four bricks wide (I've also seen some great Mini Diggers which utilise this smaller shovel very well, such as this mini excavator).
