  1. Couldn't it be possible that the front axle is linked a dummy engine instead of the motor? Wouldn't that make more sense too?
  2. What makes you think that the tracks are motorized? I highly doubt they will be.
  3. I think we're being a little unrealisitic with our expectations. From the point of view of someone who doesn't know anything about crawler cranes, it looks pretty fantastic to me. And lets face it, Lego is made for kids, who most probably won't care that it's not 100% true to real life
  4. This is awesome! beautiful front end, but you really need some better pictures :p I have a question about the dump bed, wouldn't the weight of the thing make the rear end sag because you've got both your cylinders in the front?
  5. Wow thank you guys! really appreciate it. Thanks man, and yeah it's a shame but it got to really messy and cramped, plus I was running out of pieces and it wasn't even closed to being finished so i had to scrap it.
  6. Ahh, unfortunately, I scrapped that build. It wasn't realistic enough and the chassis was feeble. I think I can safely say that what I'm working on right now is much much better. Here's a teaser
  7. Wow! How long have you guys been doing this for? I only have about 2700 parts ( 1 set + a few I ordered off of bricklink).
  8. Does anyone know who the designer of the MB set is?
  9. No idea, I've been trying to figure that out too. Best guess is that it's part of the outrigger and that it's just an illusion. I too think the Cab is pretty ugly tbh, The grill, those panels that stickout, the lights... it's just not clean enough.
  10. Oh gotcha, I started this year too, this looks really good for a newbie design
  11. All hail our lord and savior Dokludi....
  12. Not sure if that'd be possible. The crane arm seems to have 3 sections that are pneumatically controlled. You're either going to have to make one of the functions manual or add another gearbox on top of the turntable. Either way it's going to get ugly. Also Dokludi did an amazing job on that replica. How on earth did he manage that?
  13. Sweet Lord. Colour me jealous. Can't wait for the toyfair pics, I flipped a bunch from C-net hoping for atleast a general shot of the Lego booth but I saw none .
  14. Damn it. All we have till then is that ugly green LeMans car?
  15. It looks pretty good, but in my humble ( newbie) opinion it could use a little less liftarms and more flex cables and panels. I feel like it lacks some of the curvature of the real thing. Functions look awesome though
  16. This will be a day one hour one buy for me. This is my chance to make up for missing out on so many great sets. When do 2H sets go on sale usually? Mid spring?
  17. Okay sorry, I wasn't aware of the situation. I skipped over the last few pages..
  18. I'm sorry if I'm repeating questions, but are dual rears and suspension confirmed on the arocs? Edit - Nvm, just saw one of the post above say that it doesn't. That's too bad :(
  19. Hey guys, I have been following thread pretty closely for the past few weeks, and I'm mega excited for the Arocs! Going to have to start saving up though, which means I might have to forego a few other things I wanted
  20. Well as I said, everyone has their own definition of whats a "supercar" or an "exotic". For the me the front-rear drivetrain configuration, the long bonnet and the noise all scream muscle car more than supercar.
  21. In the end, these are just arbitrary terms. What might an "exotic" to you might not be to someone else.
  22. The Dodge Viper is The Dodge Viper is an 8-liter tire shredding stripped out monster. It's not just a muscle car, it's the ultimate muscle car. The vette on the other hand could be called a sports car.
  23. Thank you Update! Added door locks, a dummy air tank, dummy toolbox, a lever behind the passenger side door to operate the battery box, changed the entire front structure and refined the bodywork of the cab.
  24. Thank you very much! Means a lot. I'm not so sure about that but I took apart the front steering setup anyway to strengthen it so I'll give it a try. Good idea.
  25. Thanks a lot guys! I've got a question, been focusing on engine detail today and I made two dummy radiators but I'm not sure where I should mount them. Option A is behind the wheel well as shown by the radiator on the left and option B is right in front of the engine as shown by the one of the right. Which one do you think looks best?
