Praefect Mustar Ul'Alyan from the Thousand Suns had been given a hard task - securing peace in the fishervillages of the nestlands. It had not been easy over the past weeks, when more and more clansmen started fighting for resistance. But finally, finally he had gotten an important hint. Greed is what leads people, and Mustar knows how to use greed to his advantage. He had just paid the local villager the agreed price, and there he stood in front of the small fisher cottage with the straw roof where the leaders of the resistance were discussing the next steps. Some palmtrees stood behind the cottage, and he a goat around the corner looked at the soldiers ligning up in front of the old shack. The Praefect looked around. His men were in position. "Alright", he whispered. "We do not want to kill anyone. We are here for the long run, we want to ensure peace, we want to rule these people by authority, not by fear. Try not to hurt anyone, unless you have to. We want to take prisoners, that's all." He looked into his mens eyes, saw a last glimpse of the traitor walking away with his well earned money. Then he turned back to the cottage. "CHARGE!", the Praefect screamed, kicking the door wide open! Builder's note: I tried out some new stuff (at least for me) with this build, only showing parts of the wall and only hinting at the style of the roof. Also the way to build the wooden walls of the cottage is something I had not tried before. I think it turned out quite well, but I am looking forward to hearing some other opinions and also your suggestions. Thanks!

You managed to do what I didn't: Create a great lighting effect - nice work!

I haven't seen much of an issue with voting so far, at least no issues that would justify the drawbacks of public vote.

[WZ3; High Council] Welcome to the Jungle
Elostirion replied to Bregir's topic in Guilds of Historica
Rarely have I seen the pre-built rocks from LEGO integrated so well into a MOC - that for me is the greatest accomplishment of this very nice creation. Good job!- 11 replies

[G:D10, U vs DK] Stopping Reincarnation
Elostirion replied to Elostirion's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks for the other nice feedback. @MassEditor: Thank you for the advice on phtotography, I almost feel that this is what my builds currently lack most. I will try with a darker background and give some more thought to the settings of the camera next time.- 18 replies

VOTING THREAD Warzone 2: The Battle for the Reservoir
Elostirion replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
While it was really tough to rank the buildings within the factions, I found it rather easy to vote for the Desert King again. Most builds, most builds of what I classify as very good quality, and also 2 of my 3 personal favourites. However I have to say that from all I have seen so far in this civil war this challenge has by far the best entries overall, and it was not only a pleasure but an honour to participate - thank you Ska! -
Great idea and very well executed. While I love the flawless design of the wall itself (great use of stickers btw) and the great irregular plate, my favourite part is the small path leading towards the wall. While I have many ideas on how to counter this build, I am not sure whether I could execute any of these well enough to even stand a chance.

[G:D10, U vs DK] Stopping Reincarnation
Elostirion replied to Elostirion's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thank you, I am quite happy with how the rocks turned out as well. Thanks, I really wasn't too sure about the base. Glad you like it. Dark red is what we need - always. :-) Thanks, I also think this is probably my best build so far. Thanks, that's how the build started. Knowing myself I guess I won't stop trying to create similar effects in the future. Glad you like the entrance, which is my personal favourite in the build. Cool, good to hear I managed to make it look old! Thank you, I guess my effort was good for something then. Thank you, lego has done a great job introducing all those natural, sandy colours in the past years. Just a pity I have so few of them today. Thank you. Glad to hear, thanks.- 18 replies

A Failed Insurgency [WZ3:G15, Ulandus]
Elostirion replied to Bacon Potatoes's topic in Guilds of Historica
While I agree that those plants probably won't grow on solid rock, I think the rest of the build is really well done. I like the placement of the minifigures, and I like especially how you managed to create such dense brushes with "grass-parts". Looks really nice.- 11 replies

Fantastic build. I really like how you managed to assemble so many different plant-parts in such a harmonic way. Great work. I prefer photo 1, I think the sunny effect turned out quite well.- 22 replies

Your builds always seem perfect within themselves. Not a single brick seems to be at the wrong spot here, amazing work.

Great realisation of an automated mechanism. I was initially trying something similar, but I didn't manage to get anything close to what you did. Really well done, and I also like the colorscheme of your aqueduct a lot. Nice work on the foam in the water Room for improvement I see is the shore of the river and the terrain, but those details might as well be the missing 5%. Great entry!

The Desert King sent out some of his warriors and a wizard to find an old crypt and bringt some of his powerful companions from 2000 years ago back to Historica. High Centurion was glad when he heard the news that some of his soldiers had arrived just in time to put an end to this unholy act of the Desert King's followers! - - Builders Note: While I am really happy with the build itself, I don't like the minfigure placement much at all. Also I expected the illumation-effect of the dark wizard in the cave to come over much better than it does...

Pumping the water into the aqueducts is important, yes. Deciding about the waters destination, however, is real power. As such a small unit of Ulandian soldiers has conquered a tower further landinwards where a waterstream is split in two. Some of the water is kept for the small oasis around the tower. Poor Desert King spy soon to be discovered by the watchful dog... Stopping the flow of the water in one of the directions: Feel free to have a look at the full fotostream for some more shots. In case I win: J9.

Aqueduct in sight! Oh the joy! [WZ2:G12, Ulandus]
Elostirion replied to Kai NRG's topic in Guilds of Historica
Wow, that is amazing and unique. I think you could have achieved even more with a slight change in colour in the sky, as you did for the clouds, but aside from that I don't see how you could have done any better. -
