Time to Necro the thread for the latest entries in the series! August - Wasteland Rhino Barriers constructed in the desert wastes stand no chance when you have the power of the Wasteland Rhino! Personally I feel like this is the weakest entry in the series, as it really needed some more details along the sides. I might return to this one in the future to revise it. This model uses Sand Violet, Dark Grey, Rust, Brown, Copper & Speckled Copper (Copper, Diffuse). 3D View September (October) - Holo Sensu Even the simulations are no refuge for those who have made powerful enemies. Small speeders such as this one allow assassins to appear and disappear with shocking speed and silence. SHIPtember took all my building time in September, so the next entry wasn't finished until October. I went for a digital realm kind of feel with this; not quite TRON, but some inspiration. This model uses Bright Reddish Lilac, Silver, Dark Grey, and Rust. 3D View October (November) - Aetherian Courier Speeder Delivering only the most important of documents and goods throughout the towering heights of the city of Aetheria, this courier weaves through the clouds with ease! This little vehicle is intended to zip amongst the clouds of an avian city, full of bright colors (A nice change from some of the dingier speeders). This model uses Medium Red, Dark Royal Blue, Dark Grey, Medium Green, Gold and Transparent Fluorescent Blue. 3D View And that brings me to the current point in the series! The 11th entry is pretty much finished, and I already have some ideas for the 12th and final entry so I will be getting back on track and finishing within 2023. Thanks for looking!

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Umbra-Manis replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I'm glad to see city moving in a slightly more sci-fi direction by giving us an actual alien, although at this point I wish they would give us a little more vibrancy in the color scheme and less white. -
Love the use of hinges to build up the cannons, and how you did the engines!

They're the arms off of the Series 15 Astronaut! I don't think I'm the first to but them on an M-Tron body, but they look quite nice I'm not sure they would fit, there's actually a ball joint protruding into the bulb because I used 2736 to hold those pylons together. Good idea though!

For quickly moving cargo around docks, cargo bays, and more, turn to the Hexadic Hauler! The latest development in M-Tron technology is here to increase efficiency fourfold galaxy-wide! Decided to dip back into the well of M-Tron for an industrial type vehicle. Originally I was working on a 4 hover unit design, but while working on the front of that vehicle, I thought the M-Tron magnet holder would be a good fit on the front, which led to this version. After that I decided to introduced some side models making even more of an industrial setting, intended as a loading dock of sorts. Now all I need is a giant cargo ship 3D View

Love the homage to the Raid VPR! It would be perfect if the canopy was in dark blue!

R.T.S.S. Chiltepin The RTSS Chiltepin, a long range resupply vessel of the Republic of Texas. An armament of two forward batteries, two side batteries, and a forward accelerator cannon serve to defend against any solar rim threats who would intercept cargo bound for mining operations. A squadron of fighters remains ready inside, with docks on either side of the bridge for quick deployment. SHIPtember 2023, what an experience! I originally didn't think I'd have time to participate, but all of Space Kook's talk about Republic of Texas spaceships got my gears rolling. The Texas flag containers were built in a day around the start of the month, and then everything else happened in the last 6 days of the month, except the renders which needed more time. I didn't end up getting the underside finished, but it's got a solid frame in there, despite being digital. For those curious, a Chiltepin is the official native pepper of Texas, and I thought it was fitting with the orange containers. I'm considering expanding the Republic of Texas fleet, but we'll have to see if another SHIP is in the cards (maybe a fully loaded battleship if I'm feeling crazy) The 3D view is up on Mecabricks Thanks for looking!

Well I really hope for regular sets instead of GWPs that have anything with new minifigure aliens. If they're brickheadz, I really don't care tbh. One thing I was thinking for the swappable heads on the possible blacktron set is we could see normal human faces, as well as alien/mutant type faces like from the Galactic Bounty Hunter

I've got a nostalgic attachment to the Mars Mission figures, although I do like the Commanders Much more these days (Articulation ftw) I do see most odd-figs as less valuable than a minifigure, and I definitely would prefer dreamz had more minifigures. The Nexo Knights robots were a better medium in my opinion, as they were brick-built and articulated rather than the limits of most odd-figs.

Time to catch up on the summer months! June - Dovadian Speeder 4 vectored engines, forward blasters, and a side mounted seat. It's go time. This time around I decided to try something new with a sidecar style mounted seat. This model uses Dove Blue, Dark Grey, & Sand Blue Metallic. 3D View July - Nykra Alpha Speeder Operable on land or underwater, the Nykra Alpha series is a reliable workhorse for single operator transport. The anchor portion of this build was originally a microscale building topper, but I like it much better here. Some curling ammonite inspiration as far as the side design. This model uses Royal Blue, Dark Grey, Transparent Fluorescent Yellow, & Sand Red. 3D View

[MOC] Snapshot Memories - Vintage Camera
Umbra-Manis replied to Umbra-Manis's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thank you Pep, glad to bring back some memories! Thank you! -
Snapshot Memories Last year I started designing a model of a vintage film camera, not based on any one specific model or company, but trying to capture the primary features of a classic SLR. During the design process I wanted to integrate something to make the model more than just "another camera", which is where the idea came to include little vignettes or memories as I've come to call them that fit inside the camera. The back of the model opens up to reveal a film canister and the slot for a 4x8 vignette. The viewfinder also has a slot behind it for a printed tile representing what is being seen through the lens. Originally all of the vignettes had minifigures as subjects, but I decided to diversify and settled on the current lineup. From left to right, we have a mountain sunset, birthday celebration, spoiled pets, and an anniversary dance. I'd like to make more vignettes that cover different photography niches, but thought this was a healthy number to start with. Thanks for taking the time to check the model out, it can be seen in 3D on Mecabricks and if you like the model, it is also on Lego Ideas

What classic spaceship should be the next Icons throwback set?
Umbra-Manis replied to danth's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I went with Deep Freeze Defender and Mission Commander. Would love to see new M-Tron content, but the Stellar Recon Voyager isn't the sexiest craft. -

Lovely work within the category!

Thanks! Thank you! Thank you for such high praise! Once I saw how the cape looked on this minifigure I knew the render had to be fast.

Thank you all for the kind words, I'm happy to see that everyone has their own favorites. Time for another bike! May - Pramlocity 4000 The fastest ride you can buy with limited fine motor skills and vocabulary! This one is definitely one of the more out there models as far as this project goes (so far), but I had a lot of fun with this one! This model uses Medium Green, Dark Grey, Light Grey, & Transparent Fluorescent Yellow.
