  1. This! ^ IF it ever gets released, it had better be worth the wait.
  2. Got any more, high resolution pics? From other angles etc?
  3. Looks very nice. However, your statements aren't true since you haven't actually built it. Trying to sell the instructions is an insult to peoples intelligence.
  4. They look good. However.... You only ordered them after I became the guinea pig and ordered them! Wise to be skeptical, although we got a bargain. They are £6 quid each from here, which is the same company I think, the logo and name is the same. https://lightailing.co/products/star-wars-lighting-swords
  5. Is the plating under the engines supposed to be sagged like that, or have you built it wrong?
  6. Not sure what that rating is, but, it shouldn't have been a 12A in the UK. A 12 maybe, but, it's not for young kids. ETA, It's the best film released since ROTJ.
  7. There's a sequel to Rogue One..... ;)
  8. I hate you! Putting damned ideas in my mind. Awesome work, it looks fantastic.
  9. And they only retired the Death Star at the beginning of this year................
  10. Surely you're not implying that Insult on Hoth might now a modular build.
  11. 1000% agree. IMHO, since it's the 40th anniversary of A New Hope, then the other UCS slot has to be taken up by something from that. That narrows it down to an updated release of 10179, Tantive IV or a Star Destroyer really.
  12. Whilst I appreciate the time and effort made by the Admin team to implement this upgrade, I'm just not "feeling" it. As a somewhat infrequent user, it came as a bit of a shock. I'm not keen on the skin, or the general layout of things, although some of this is probably because most of the sites I visit are built on vBulletin platforms. Hopefully things will start to look a bit like they were skin wise, or I'll get used to the change. Regardless, keep up the good work. :)
  13. That's excellent.
  14. That's a really bad comparison, and actually highlights how much it isn't minifig scale.
  15. I sincerely hope not. It's the 40th anniversary on EP 4, not the god awful prequels.
  16. Maybe one of the Snowtroopers is Chuck Norris? ;) Must admit, I agree with most of what's already been said. Empire is my favourite film, so I was really looking forward to the Hoth UCS. It would have sat well with the AT-AT that I have, had it not been utterly terrible. Death Star, as already said, is just lazy.
  17. Probably because there is nothing to hold it in place...............
  18. It wouldn't have been too bad, if TLG had marketed it differently, and either slashed the pricing or increased the minifig count. If they'd marketed it as a playset, and not a UCS set, there wouldn't have been as much of an uproar. The price point is ridiculous, since it's clearly aimed at children. Knock £50 off the price, add another 8 Imperial troops and then it would start to fit the name of the set and maybe a pricepoint that parents would consider as the "big" birthday/Christmas present. As it is, it's a jack of all trades and master of none. Also, sure I read that the Snowspeeder just fits through the blast doors, if that's not a design fault then I don't know what is. Thanks for the review Bob, it's help re-affirm my view that it's a set I'll never buy, which is a shame as Empire is my favourite film of the OT.
  19. IMO, if and it's a big IF, TLG actually release any sets to specifically mark the 40th anniversary of Episode IV, then there are only 3 things that would be UCS sets. The Falcon, a SSD, or Tantive IV. Whilst a UCS Mos Eisley, bit it cantina or town, would be nice, the amount of minifigures required I just don't see it happening. It won't be an X-wing, as Red 5 was recently released, new Death Star is supposedly coming this year. Personally, I'd like to see a new UCS Falcon, mainly because I can't afford 10179.
  20. And there was me thinking, shopping with you was just funding more 10179 Bricklinking sessions.
  21. As above, I'd go with the Carbon Freezing Chamber,
  22. Define desirable though. I personally see nothing of interest in the FO Snowspeeder set, IMHO the 3 snowtroopers are only desirable if you are army building and it was barely glimpsed in the film, IIRC. To me it's nowt special and I probably wouldn't buy it if it was £5 -well I probably would for a fiver, you'll understand where I'm coming from though. Battle of Takodana only really has Maz Kanata as at this point I don't think she'll be in any other sets. Obviously that depends on the subsequent films, or if TLG decide that they got the set wrong and re-issue it at a later date to include some interior as what happened inside was quite important in the film. Kylo Ren and Finn maybe, since the set is in a lower price bracket than the ships they are included with. If someone is a hardcore set collector, £50 is a lot for a set with 1 "desirable" figure. Comparing TFA sets with UCS is like comparing apple to pears. ;) Having said that, most of the TFA sets are a LOT better than the latest "UCS" offering, but, we won't go there. :)
