Plus Lego has hardly produced anything in copper, and that was 10 years ago anyway. Of couse, never say never, since teal is back. But I MUCH prefer to see sand green getting mainstream, it's really a nice color, while I never liked the pseudo-metallic colors that just look like cheap plastic. For the first time I'm building a MOC with gold parts, and as much as I love the few plated parts, the "warm gold".. yuk. And they can't even keep it consistent, in the latest sets it's much darker.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

Yeah the color. White & black are quite common. Also exists in flesh, gold & brown. Really there are 2 options here, either it's in an upcoming set that hasn't been announced yet, or it was made in a small batch for whatever reason. I guess I'll know when Lego will reply. -
Maybe you're overthinking it, though. IKEA doesn't just do furniture, Lego already does boxes & stuff, I can well imagine Lego boxes with proper Lego stamp, in IKEA stores now. And perhaps cushions & furniture for kids, but I hardly imagine IKEA doing Lego-themed stuff for adults.

Try to disassemble Ikea furniture, though..

For what it's worth, the Rebrick website has never been very reliable.

couldn't find it, do you know where? -
Funny thing about Lego/Ikea, I have (for some reason) this Ikea bit from a cupboard on my desk for over 10 years, right next to a bunch of Lego parts always there for quickly testing stuff. Only yesterday it occured to me to put one into a brick. PERFECT FIT! And really surprisingly perfect, not too hard, not too strong, not floaty, these are supposed to be 5mm vs 4.8mm for Lego studs. I don't know if 0.2mm really make a difference, but it's like it was designed for compatibility. (not saying they're like technic pins, they're exactly like studs, or like minifig head pins) Edit: it was worth it

So you got the part, it does exist? Lucky man. They didn't remove it from my order, they removed my order. Keeping the story short, I make an order (which kept giving me errors until it finally accepted it), I call to add a few parts, I check my order and it's fine. 7 days later, my 40eur order becomes a 8eur order, my entire B&P order was marked as "cancelled", leaving only the few parts added by phone. Support can't even tell me why it's cancelled, they tried to bs me claiming the item "is just a mark, not a real order", while I have a confirmation email for the order.. For quite a moment that item in my order was oscillating between "call support" (or something like that) end eventually it went to "in progress". There's still a slight chance that it's the label that's wrong, and that the order has been sent, but I doubt it. Afterall, after an item has been sent, it also says "0" as its price. Except here it changes the total amount, so it's different. On top of that it was an order for a Rebrick contest that's ending up in 2 weeks, so that's dead too. Side note: for those who use FireFox's screenshot system to capture their order (it beats capturing 10 screens), be aware that the screen cap apparently has a height limit (mine is missing the bottom of my order). Yeah the color. I have lots of black ones, they're everywhere. Btw I don't think this one has been mentioned yet. Not orderable yet, but because dual molded, it'll probably be as expensive as the white one. Still the closest thing to a bar 2L that Lego will probably never produce (because kids would lose them inside other parts) -
Help with Digital Renders
anothergol replied to Bricked1980's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
It's pretty hard, though. First there's Blender which is pretty hard to learn - worth it, but not when you don't plan to use it for anything else. A tool so clumsy and based on kb shortcuts for efficiency, you quickly forget how to use it if you don't use it daily. Then there are the settings, and the libraries of higher-poly parts, I guess. Well I never managed to do it, so I stuck with Stud.io's export (or Bluerender for rotations). Obviously when I see an ultrarealistic render, it's generally Mecabricks. My problem with it, other than the fact I hate its UI, is that the draft are paid as well. I would prefer a tool that generates the drafs on MY computer, with a watermark, and only make me pay for the final render (which will probably be the 20th one).- 26 replies

I'm not sure. I don't feel it as a lazy finish, because it's a new part afterall. And it's architecture, so it's kept sober. What would have ruined it for me, would have been a print on that part (probably would have looked like an early low-poly 3D game). I'm pretty sure they tried other things, but what can you do on 2 plates-wide? It's the nose, or rather the shadow of the nose that I miss, but I don't see how they could have done it.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
anothergol replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah I'm pretty pissed about this one. I've placed hundreds of Bricklink orders and they go so much more smoothly than buying from Lego. I think they just don't care for AFOLs (I wouldn't either, if we're really just 0.5% of their business). It's Lego's organization & website that pisses me off, though. Lego's support is always there to help (but even reaching them is made hard for tech reasons). I suspect it was made for a LUG, or for a design that didn't make it to a set. Or perhaps it never really existed, because the image disappearing one day before the part is pretty suspect. Perhaps Lego made a mistake & the part has never been produced (well those who ordered it will tell me soon, I guess). That being said, I only restrict my MOCs to parts that Lego has ever produced, but I don't mind going for clones if Lego has produced the same part. And fortunately, "Enlighten" has produced it, and if Lego can't fix my order, that's exactly what I'm gonna do, I'll go buy it on Ali. I'm not worrying too much about the clutch power, but I'm not sure if their color is compatible, though. -

Has anyone managed to secure this part? That was the holy grail for me, I placed an order especially for it, assuming that, having appeared in no set, maybe it had been made in small quantities for a LUG or something. That was a week ago. A week later, Lego has cancelled my order (my whole B&P order, but not the few parts added by phone, go figure). Tech support doesn't know why & tells me the order never existed in the first place (while I have a confirmation email from Lego, & of course, phone support who added the extra parts to that order). I also wrote to the support, which replied to have lost my email right after reading it. That's just perfect! Now of course that amazing part is already gone (yesterday the part was still listed, but the image was gone), & the only trace left of it, is the screenshot I made of my order, knowing that B&P would probably screw up as usual. It's not even a part I can get on Bricklink later, since it never officially existed. I so wish Lego would ditch their bs system & open a Bricklink store instead. -
I'd add, if you love challenges, you can get instructions for MOCs, they're generally much less forgiving. Take the Arvo brothers, there is NO WAY Lego would have published their stuff, it's really when you build them that you understand what makes an official Lego set. And this is one complaint that'd be valid, because it really does affect the result. Their stuff isn't a nice building experience at all, but the result is so much better than official sets that it's worth it, for adults. Here on the statue of liberty, I feel like the base & 3/4 of the statue follow Lego's standards and would have been better designed by a MOCer. The last upper bit of the statue however is rather MOC-like, it's not the most solid thing (especially the arm), but it works.

But has a Lego set ever done this? (serious question, because while I got Lego in the 80's, they were all small sets) I feel the opposite. I really dislike logo's on studs. From distance it only looks like they're dirty. A Lepin 1x1 round stud is really a beauty! Of course, all plates, of all brands, are ruined by injection marks on one stud, Lego included, thus I always, always do my best to hide them all. A plate with no logo & no injection mark would much less require to be covered. And I SO WISH all studs were hollow. Especially bracket bricks - I don't know what Lego is thinking with semi-hollow ones, that doesn't make any sense to me. I can understand when there's a risk a kid loses a part inside of another, but there's no such risk here. There is no strength problem either, because we already have a bracket with hollow studs in all directions, that's the only one we have, and that thing never broke. And it really looks random. We got a new 1x2 plate with rounded corners and it's fully hollow - perfect! But then we get a 1x1 round plate with a bar on it, and it's semi-hollow, reducing its uses a lot. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy...

I still don't get it. As someone above wrote, "just ignore the numbers". How can it annoy you that Lego makes it easier for other people? It's like when I complain about a game being too difficult / having no difficulty selection or cheats, there's always someone to complain that letting other people cheat or play easier would ruin his fun. I can understand being against Lego designing too much for kids, because generally it affects the look, but here it's different, it's something you can easily ignore. (btw if you prefer bags not numbered or better, wrongly numbered (like litterally using a different font for each bag [I'm not even kidding], and not differenciating 6's & 9's), and everything made difficult for you, you can still buy Lepin :)

If you aren't aware yet, there's a mech contest at Rebrick. As with any Rebrick contest, it's 90% kids/crap, 10% great stuff, and this one being about mechs, I'm pretty sure it's gonna be huge, so go check it out. https://www.lego.com/en-us/rebrick/contest-page/contests/nexo-knights Anyway, I had "quickly" Nexo-themed an old mech of mine, and decided to continue improving it in a buildable version (thus, not Nexo-looking anymore, which isn't a bad thing). I wasn't sure it would balance, and yes it does (holy Mixel joints)! I probably won't get all the parts from Lego before the deadline (especially when they don't wanna sell the new ones), but it doesn't matter anyway, this one has something in-between its legs that Rebrick wouldn't like :) (Loki's helmet would also probably get it rejected)

Can't tell if that was sarcasm, I hope it was. This is my first architecture set, so I didn't even know previous ones weren't numbering bags, but I'm glad it does. I loved building it, and I love the results. Generally I find building tiny sets therapeutical or something, but large ones quickly annoy me. This one, no, and I think it had to do with the colors. Tan, and my fav Lego color, sand green, with so many new parts (& my fav one in abundance). Really a soothing color. And the result is really an eye opener. Why did the previous one suck & this one is amazing (other than the fact the previous one was a blocky mess)? The pedestal! At first you wonder why you're spending so much time & parts on what's not "really" the Statue of Liberty, but when you see the result, and how great both work together, you start to realize that you can't have it without the pedestal.

you can of course also glue the feet's joints, not something I'd do myself, but well, Lego itself does

Thanks Probably less stable.. While the knees now use the full 3 pins instead of 2, without looking too bad, it's still a lot of weight in the head. There is a display stand and of course you're also free to remove a lot of the inside if you don't need it. The pose up there is also less stable than a straight one, if you wanna know, because slightly unbalanced laterally as well.

Not sure, since it's still held by a stud ultimately. But yeah perhaps the 1x1 nipples have a little more clutch power than normal 1x1's. Also the plate looks nicer underside, but it makes the front look worse, because of the ledge, which frankly wasn't even necessary here, since there is the hole to lift it up. But it's nice to have this to put have T-bars on undersides, which is something I've often needed (Lego uses the SW white shields for that now). -

Interesting idea, but 10 bucks for 60 mostly 1 by 1 parts? Possibly even less if they count those bits of cardboard/fabrick as parts. -

For what it's worth, I was waiting for the new parts to place an order, sadly the operator said she couldn't add parts that don't have a price yet, like it was possible in the past. Looks like you have to beg Lego to take your money, these days. Btw, this is THE part no one ever asked for (especially when there is no 1x2): EDIT: according to New Elementary, this part has a hole in the middle (& actually you can see on the pic the middle stud is hollow). And why not? (& the weirdest in the bunch: ) -

Nice, so the 1x1 brackets are 6225494 & 6227012. Sadly not in B&P yet :( And yeah, I've re-inspected pretty much every known 2018 set image yesterday, couldn't find 26047 anwhere. -

Ah, you think it's used for the robot's arms here? I thought that was a simple 1x2+clips. Have you found other pics? Edit: 26047 & 18649 have slightly different mold marks on the side. I've inspected this pic closely and I'm 99% sure it's one 18649. On this picture, that is. -

For some strange reason, 26047 (1x1 plate+bar) now in LBG!!! It's not to be found in any set yet, but perhaps it's from the Ninjago city docks, and thus it would be interesting to check if the new 1x1 brackets are available as well, but that would require to know their part #, maybe someone here knows?
