  1. Long story short, I have come up with a Virtual Table Top Dungeons and Dragons experience. These videos will encompass the FOLLOWING themes: Pirates, Castle, LOTR, D&D, and Harry Potter. For more details, watch this!! Visit the MikeyJProductions YouTube Channel
  2. Hello, I am currently developing a VIRTUAL Table Top LEGO Castle and Dungeons and Dragons game. For more details, stay tuned for video updates!!
  3. Lagoon Lockup FTW!! Saber Island is #2 for me.
  4. I voted for the slopes from Barracuda Bay. But honestly, I would have picked all of the above.
  5. The LATEST episode, and it HEAVILY features Jack Sparrow!! Who is OF COURSE voiced by Johnny Depp himself!!
  6. Here are the final results
  7. VERY much a WIP, and progress has been slow of late (lack of bricks). FULL display: Shire: Helm's Deep: You sound like me, been collecting it for a while. YES, we used to be able to find Gandolf, Legolas and Gollum pretty cheap. But even those have dried up, here in 2024. I'm just saying it's not an easy theme to collect for, compared to most others.
  8. I got into LOTR collecting when the Hobbit sets were on shelves. I then went back and picked up the LOTR sets I wanted for a "some what" decent price. I forget what I paid for Orthanc, but no where near what it goes for today. I'm of the opinion that I wouldn't recommend new people start collecting this theme unfortunately though. It's small enough that you will want to get all the minifigs (at least), and like others pointed out, they spread them out throughout the whole wave, so you kinda just end up buying EVERYTHING. Which LOTR is probably the most expensive theme to collect for (for it's size). Another problem I have with it, is you want MORE. More sets, minifigs, etc. But Lego doesn't offer more sets, so then you end up mocking. But even then, it's not easy or cheap to MOC a bunch of fleshy minifigs to populate a LOTR display, let alone mocking sets. So bottom line, it's honestly not a fun theme to collect for. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE it, and will buy Barad Dur day one. But when I compare it to collecting for Castle and Pirates, it's a distant third (for the reasons I just stated). My wife collects HP, and I'm jealous of how easy it is for her to MOC those sets, just buy two of them and get to work. I'm not buying two Rivendell's or Barad Durs, not for that price, lol. Having said that, I DID do MOCS for a lot of the older stuff, to put them on par with sets like Rivendell. I doubled up Helms Deep, tripled up Bag End, and we did are own Erebor. I'm also using the Viking village set to make my Lake Town bigger and better. I might even get the new D&D set and add that to my LOTR as well. But again, it requires thinking outside of the box. It's not easy like HP and other themes are. So even though I LOVE IT, and am committed to collecting it, I don't recommend it for new collectors.
  9. Oh no, there isn't enough female representation in the emoji list. Better alert the keyboard warriors!! For the record, I was at NO POINT engaged in a debate with you. Once again, I gave MY OPINION on what I felt was the biggest flaw in this particular set. It was YOU that decided to turn MY OPINION into a debate. Again, you must be a JOY at parties. That logic is flawed, for many reasons, but again it's heading into a political sphere that I don't want to go into here. I will say this though, as a society trying to bow down and appease a vocal minority is a mistake that will be the downfall of our society. If an issue is important enough, the majority will agree with it, that's how democracy works. But trying to appease a vocal minority, just creates MORE vocal minorities. It's a never ending cycle. If a young girl wants to play with a Lego Pirate sets, then good for her. I don't have a problem with that. But to think that a toy that HISTORICALLY was aimed towards boys (Lego Pirates) will attract a whole bunch more female fans because of a few gender swapped minifigs, is just asinine. By this logic, young boys must be buying Friends sets in droves because they include some boy minidolls. "Look mom, I don't want that Star Wars set, I want that Friends set because it has a boy minidoll, just like me."
  10. I didn't post a political opinion. I posted MY opinion on what I feel is the weakest part of the Eldorado Fortress set. I gave my opinion, but two people here didn't like it, and felt the need to respond to me. That's the chain of events. Other than that, yes I agree this topic has run its course.
  11. I never said its not a problem in the world. But its a problem that is GREATLY over estimated. I believe that men and women are equal but different, and thats ok. Some things men can do better and some things women can do better. It doesn't make one sex superior to the other, just different. Since when did being equal but different become a bad thing? But beyond all of that, this is a LEGO forum, not a political one. I'm not trying to change anyones mind, just stating MY OPINION. I am fully aware that opinions can NOT be changed on the internet, especially on a place like a LEGO forum. So lets just leave it at that, shall we?
  12. I'm sorry, but I don't agree with ANY of this. FAR bigger problems in the world than what toy kids are playing with. My son doesn't need to play with Barbies, if you want your child to, thats up to you. But my kid isn't. For the record my daughter couldn't of cared less about Lego Pirates. have you EVER stopped to think that MAYBE, just MAYBE some of these so called "stereotypes" exist because boys DO like playing with dinosaurs, soldiers, pirates, knights, etc. While girls DO enjoy playing with dolls. It doesn't mean one is better than the other, just different. Boys and girls are DIFFERENT, I don't buy into this modern woke crap, sorry, I just don't.
  13. Nice diversionary tactic
  14. I don't have a problem with including more girls and women, that's not the issue here. The issue here is that girls, women, and even children are NOT buying the sets in question, the ones that DO are a VERY small minority. Did Eldorado Fortress sell more sets because 50% of the minifigs were girls? No, it didn't. My point is KNOW your audience Lego, that's the issue. Stop forcing YOUR politics onto sets that are not even geared to that demographic. If we were talking about Harry potter ( a theme that MANY women enjoy), then I wouldn't even bat an eye. But that's not the case, now is it? Let's do a poll, whats the demographic on this very site?
  15. Typical rhetoric... You sure did think long and hard to find ways to prove my opinion as wrong. It's my opinion mate, and I'm entitled to it. I have yet to see a SINGLE person under the age of 15 that have these sets, online or elsewhere. But you are free to believe whatever you choose to. That's the beauty of opinions, no one is right or wrong. Yet you have made two long posts trying to tell me my opinion is wrong. You must be a joy at parties. Having said that, lets say what you said is true, and LEGO does care about diversity, inclusion, etc. Than THAT is the ploy to sell more sets. Not for ANY other reason, don't get that twisted. They are a company trying to make money. I accept that, and am fine with it. Once diversity and inclusion start negatively affecting the bottom line, it'll stop in a heartbeat. just remember that.
  16. Don't collect Star Wars, that's my advice. I'm not saying this to bash on SW, obviously the historical significance of the theme can't be underestimated. Having said that, it's really just a money pit of a theme. Constant rereleases, alt version, more grey spaceships, etc. Ive never collected SW, and I NEVER will. I enjoy the franchise, but my Lego collecting predates SW becoming a Lego theme. I collect Pirates, Castle and LOTR and I'm happy with those themes. We also have a rather large City, but if I'm honest that's a step below collecting for my big 3. The wife collects HP and my son collects JP, so we DO collect other themes as well. But for me, it's Castle, Pirates and LOTR that's where it's at. Plus LOTR is better than SW anyways. 🤪
  17. Let me start by saying everyone can do whatever they like with their collections, that's part of the beauty of Lego. Having said that, Lego isn't a CHEAP hobby. For example, I bought EVERY CMF Black Falcon I could find. I don't have number, but regardless, that's a LOT of heads and hair to change out in order to army build. So if Lego releases a female Imperial soldier in a future CMF, many of us would have the same issue. Also, let me add that Lego is a business. They are not including more female minifigs in Pirate sets for the sake of diversity or inclusion, don't drink that Kool aid. It's so guys like us HAVE to buy additional heads, etc, like you pointed out. It's a business ploy more than anything, let's NOT forget that aspect. So yes, paying $230 for a Lego set, then having to shell out more money to make the minifigs appropriate, is uncalled for IMO. Furthermore, I would LOVE to see the numbers (if they even exist), on HOW many females and children ACTUALLY bought Eldorado Fortress or the Lion Knights Castle. My instincts tell me it's over 90% adult males buying those particular sets. So the whole "for the children and inclusion" arguments fall short IMO. Let me also add, that I have talked to some Castle collector's that just got into the hobby within the last few years. So they don't have a MASSIVE collection like I do. Their ONLY knights came out in the Lion Knights Castle, Creator 3-1 castle and the Medieval Blacksmith shop. So people that are in THAT boat are overloaded with female minifigs, whether they want them or not. Let's have a little sympathy for those that are newer to the hobby. Most of them don't want a bunch of female soldiers either, and once again, they have to PAY extra, in order to make themselves happy. Having said all of that, I don't want folks to think I'm "blowing this out of proportion" or anything like that. I was just giving my HONEST assessment of this particular set. On a scale of 1-10, how much do the female heads ACTUALLY bother me? I'd say around a 2. I can and do live with it. But the question was asked "what's the BIGGEST flaw with this set." Well the female heads ARE my answer, which goes to show how GREAT I actually feel that set is. As a LONG TIME Pirate Collector, if someone asked me "What are the 3 best Lego Pirate sets of all time?" Here are my answers: 1. Pirates of Barracuda Bay 2. The new Eldorado Fortress 3. The Imperial Flagship from 2011 That's my list, and I either own or have owned most of the classic sets.
