That's true about the hats and the legs. Having said that, it's the head and torso that rare, the rest of the Minifig is pretty common stuff. -

It's hard for me to decide on who I like better blue coats or red coats (for second place). Blue coats came first, so the red coats are kinda just a copy of them. Having said that, the original red coats look better than the original blue coats imo. But... The 2009 red coats are just ok imo, while both the 2015 and 2023 blue coats are REALLY nice imo. -
[VIDEO] GREATEST LEGO PIRATE SHIP OF ALL TIME!!

Lol, fair enough. I'm a vintage Lego guy as well. But the techniques used on the new BSB are just light years a head of the vintage stuff, if we are honest. I understand -

Nope. She is a good one, but she isn't the BEST EVER. -
I'm not a fan of brock sails, to me they go against EVERYTHING that Lego Pirate Ships have always been, lol. So I wanted to make some modifications to this set, tell me what you think!!

Era III and a call for New Leadership!
Captain Pirate Man replied to Garmadon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I have found, that people REALLY respond favorably to existing lore, and characters. While I'm not suggesting "changing" the existing lore that exists within the game, I don't see why adding Redbeard, Sparrow, Ironhook, Broadside, Wood house, etc into the game would be a negative thing. I feel like they could add some attention from folks that don't follow BOTBS, and I feel the story aspects they could bring, would be fun. So that's one of my main reasons for wanting to go a route more similar to that. But that doesn't mean they would be ALL I would want to do, quite the contrary. The idea of telling the stories of Ironhooks first mate is appealing to me. But in order to do that effectively, Ironhook himself needs to be established. Here is my Pirate layout, I'm already telling stories as is. But I'm trying to figure out how to tell new stories, within the context of the game. -
Era III and a call for New Leadership!
Captain Pirate Man replied to Garmadon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
So I'm confused about the whole "monetary" system for the game. I have a rather large pirates Display, and I'd be happy to register some forts and ships, with characters and what not. But I'm not really understanding it. Also, what I DO understand, is that I have to start on the "smaller" end of things, especially for ships. But that's not really what I'm interested in. Like I have some galleons I could and would register (I'm thinking Sea Rats), but I'm under the impression I can't start with those. What the deal is, like I said, I have a rather large Pirates Display already. I'm interested in adding some story elements to the "game" but I want to fit the game to what I already have, not so much the other way around. I would also want to keep things a little more "in cannon" than maybe the game has been played so far, which I'm not sure how everyone would feel about that. What I mean is, register the Black Seas Barracuda or Black Pearl. Have Captain Roger Redbeard or Jack Sparrow be my characters. Maybe have Rock island Refuge as my home "base." Would these ideas be possible within the context of the game? Please advise. -

I wish I didn't have to be with just one faction. I'd like to create little stories for multiple factions. -

[VIDEO] GREATEST LEGO PIRATE SHIP OF ALL TIME!!
Captain Pirate Man replied to Captain Pirate Man's topic in LEGO Pirates
Well, IMO it IS the Black Seas Barracuda. It's just "which version" is kinda the question, 3 different official versions have been released over the years. Now SOME may argue for the OG Barracuda, but it's REALLY hard to argue that she is the BEST Lego Pirate Ship ever made. She was GREAT for her time, but the new one is just SO MUCH prettier, better build, more features, bigger, unique design, etc. It REALLY is a two ship comparison with the new BSB and the BIG Imperial Flagship for the top spot. All the rest are gunning for #3 at best. Having said that, I made this video, before I did the poll. I was hoping to use the poll to back up my claim, lol. I was worried, lol. I was afraid the Flagship would take it. The Flagship got out to the early lead as well... -
I put a POLL on the Classic Pirates FB group, and the results affirm the claim I made in this video!! Do you agree or disagree, tell me your thoughts!!

[POLL] Favorite Lego Pirates Faction
Captain Pirate Man replied to Yperio_Bricks's topic in LEGO Pirates
I voted Pirates, but it's honestly a draw for me between pirates and Imperials (blue and red). A PIRATE SHIP is just plain special, and more iconic looking than the Imperial ships are IMO. Even the LEGENDARY Imperial Flagship doesn't look as good as the Barracuda Bay ship IMO, it's just SO PRETTY. Having said that, I give the edge in land forts and minifigs to the Imperials. The new Eldorado Fortress is a thing of BEAUTY. Plus you CAN have "enough" pirate minifigs, but you can't say the same Imperial minifigs. I can have a thousand if them, lol. -
I like BOTH equally, of I'm honest. Pirate ships are cooler than Imperial ships, they just are. But land bases and minifigs I prefer the Imperials. Honestly, you need a TON of both IMO. But i DO think you can have enough pirate minifigs, but you can never have enough Imperial minifigs.

Mine arrives today!! It wasn't my first choice for a Pirates GWP, but beggars can't be choosers, right?
-
It's because Lego doesn't have a lot of faith in Imperial sets selling anymore, heck they don't even have faith in them as a GWP. My funds were a little tight over the summer (summer activities and what not),so I didn't buy Eldorado Fortress until early September. When I received mine, it STILL had the "Don't release until July X" Warning on the box. I ended up getting a second one a couple of weeks later, and it had that warning as well. So that tells me that Eldorado isn't selling all that well unfortunately. If it was... These initial "street date" sets would of been LONG GONE. Ive heard elsewhere that when it comes to Pirates, Pirate Ships sell well (hence why the creator 3-1 is still for sale). I've also heard that a set that is meant for the Pirates faction FAR outsells anything meant for the Imperials. Hence why we hardly see ANYTHING Imperials. Given what I just said about Eldorado Fortress, I'd expect this trend to continue. I would NOT expect an Imperial ship ANYTIME soon. I could see a remake of SES coming WELL before a remake of the Imperial Flagship. Honestly, I don't think the Flagship sold that well during it's initial run either. IMO, if you want Imperials, you BETTER get Eldorado, cause that's probably going to be it for a WHILE. Just my observations. BTW, I as well would LOVE to see remakes of Lagoon Lockup and Saber Island. But that's up to us as Pirates fans, we have to prove to Lego that the Pirates theme is STRONG. Castle is getting nice remakes, Pirates should as well. But we need to show them we want it, they have to have more faith in the theme.
