[POLL] Eldorado Fortress Assessment
Captain Pirate Man replied to Yperio_Bricks's topic in LEGO Pirates
I LOVE it, but I didn't buy it on day one, due to financial situations. But when I DID buy it, I ended up getting two, because I DO love it. As for flaws, it's a set that's pretty flawless IMO, I honestly love it. My only minor complaint is that LEGO is continuing the trend of female heads for soldiers, officers, knights, etc. Look, I know it Lego and I can just change the heads (and trust me I do). But between this set and the most recent Castle sets, Im running out of good male heads, yet I have TONS of female ones. So it's more of an aggravation imo, than an actual flaw. Obviously I could just LEAVE them as females, but I don't like that if I'm honest. It's not about being inclusive or giving representation, or whatever else people want to say. It's that my soldiers, knights, etc in MY Lego collection have been Males since 1988. So that's what I prefer them to be. Yes, I have some female knights in my medieval display, so I'm not opposed to having some females in there, just not at the ratio Lego keeps giving us. I'd also add that, I'm not "sorry not sorry" but my Imperial Soldiers and Officers are males. They just are, period. I'm not having it any other way. But again, it's Lego, and everyone is free to do whatever they want with their own collections. It's just Lego has been pushing this 50/50 male to female Minifig ratio pretty heavily the last few years. Which when it comes to City, modular buildings, etc. It doesn't really matter to me. But when it comes to Pirates and Castle... I honestly don't need ANYMORE female minifigs. I need more males. I have a whole bucket full of female heads. -

Shooting and Non-Shooting Cannons...What you Have!?
Captain Pirate Man replied to VintageLegoEra's topic in LEGO Pirates
I might be in the minority here, but I prefer the non shooting cannons. For one, living in America, that's what we got. I didn't even know they made shooting cannons until years later. Even though I grew up without this play feature, that's not why I prefer non shooting cannons. As an adult, I don't actually shoot ANY of my cannons anymore, so that play feature doesn't appeal to me. What DOES appeal to me is the nice molded engraving that is on the non shooting cannons. They look NICE. That's why I prefer them, I treasure my non shooting cannons, lol. -

I did as well. Hence why I made them a crew 🤪 plus it's not easy coming up with a bunch of good names, so I try and make it easy on myself, lol -

BTW, I am NOT gonna put this poll in the FB group this time. FAR too many choices IMO, I don't FB will allow for so many options. So it's up to the forum in this go around!!

[VIDEO] LEGO Pirate Adventures
Captain Pirate Man replied to Captain Pirate Man's topic in LEGO Pirates
New episode comes out this Friday!! I made a few smaller changes to the series. For starters, everything is going to be voice acted going forward. So it's almost like a stop motion, without looking through 5,000 photographs, lol. Also, I am looking for people that might be interested in lending their voice talents, and joining the cast. If playing a Pirate in a pirate adventure has appealed to you, well now is the time!! Te series is full of Lego Pirates lore and characters plus POTC characters as well. But I am also adding humor to it, or at least I hope it's some what funny. As of right now I have 4 cast members, but would LOVE to add more. You can record your voice clips on your phone and email them to me, or upload them to YouTube, out the video on private, and send me a link. Let me know if anyone is interested. -
Hello, I do a series called Lego Castle Adventures. It's a series of VOICE ACTED adventures that takes place within my Lego Castle DISPLAY!! I ALSO do a series called Lego Pirate Adventures, you can find that thread in the PIRATE section. I will post ALL future videos in this one thread!!

Great stuff on all this lore IMO!!

I believe that is Redbeard, just the one that came with The Brick Bounty. IDK if it was ever "official" but it's him, lol.

Episode 3 The SECRET of Jose's Inn!! -
The CMF pirate Captain kinda looks like Captain Red.

This was a tough one for me. It was a 2 man race between Redbeard and Jack Sparrow. Redbeard is my OG Pirate Captain, so he wins the nostalgia award. Having said that, Jack Sparrow is LITERALLY the best Pirate I have ever seen, lol. They even say so in the films. So I went with him. On a side note, if you put Redbeard and Sparrow next to each other in a Lego scene, Jack will steal the show every time. Which also leads to him being better IMO.

[OFFICIAL] 40710 LEGOLAND Pirate Splash Battle
Captain Pirate Man replied to Yperio_Bricks's topic in LEGO Pirates
I'm not asking for a theme the size of dreamz or hidden side, but if you are gonna make pirate city sets... You can make pirate sets. It's easier to MOC when you have a something to work with. Yes, I suppose you can do the same with these city sets. But they are still lacking the proper Pirate "feel" imo. Heck I'm getting ready to make a few Christmas purchases for myself, and I normally want to buy as much Lego as I can. But I want Pirate parts are pieces first and foremost. Followed by Castle and then LOTR. I have EVERYTHING those themes have to offer over the last (many) years. I thought about buying the creator 3-1 ship for the 4th time, or Eldorado for the 3rd time, just to have pirate pieces to MOC with. But is it too much to ask for some sets in the lower price ranges as well? I might buy 8 of those, lol. Sometimes you don't want to spend $150, but rather $50. Instead I'm gonna go on BL and buy some pirate stuff I want. Yes, Lego gets a cut there as well, but I'd RATHER just buy sets. It's just easier. -

You took the words right out of my mouth. If all of these were actually proper Pirate releases, we would be sitting pretty right now... -

lol The truth of the matter is I wanted a classic pirate crew as well as a modern version. So I decided that Roger and Redbeard are twins. Ironhook is their older brother, lol. -
