As will I, along with the 2 new UniKitty sets...
-
1. PS - My first modular and the first MOC generated from it. I also really like it is 2 modulars in 1. I wish they did this with the DO. 2. PR - The details 3. HH - Cool use of 'weathering' (also not quite a modular) 4. PC - Nice printed tiles and use of the barrel roof 5. GG - First introduction to brick built curtains :p 6. GE - Think this is my baseline reference for modulars. 7. CC - Works well for interior mods 8. FG - Meh... 9. TH - Boring 10. MS - Does not lend it self well to fixing the shortcomings, interior mods pretty limited.

There is also modularising the Museum Break in: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5890952

Just placed my order.

So I am interested in the custom battery pack, how did you make it < 4 studs wide? I wound up doing a PF GP-38 but made it in Santa Fe Red and Light/Dark Gray. Very nice job.

An updated version of Christmas Unikitty, updated the tail, added the santa beard and striped the horn, and proper image size: Having green 'ears' was an original design choice but in the end we decided to go with the Santa outfit. I probably should have named it Santa Unikitty instead. One other design I was not able to implement was a santa hat, having a white pompom on top of the unicorn.

I agree, the Santa Train is Tay awsome! The layout itself is very well thought out, not too busy. I like the spacing. You did not try to cram too much into the space.

Since it is the season, I thought we needed a custom Unikitty, so I present Christmas Unikitty: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/pirzyk/MOCs/christmas_unikitty.jpg The face is modled after 3622pb057 from the SD Comi-con Exclusive set, with the artwork done by my SO. Then I took that artwork and cut out the vinyl pieces on my silhouette cutter and placing the pieces by hand. It is still a work in progress, I plan on covering up the orange on the tail with more white vinyl and figuring out how to make a white pom pom on the unicorn tip.

I use my flex track for an elevated line (think Chicago) and run the Red Passenger train (7938) on it. None of my other trains run very well on flex track. I do also use it for storing my trains when they are not being run. I am competely PF so 9V is not worth it for me.

What kind of track are you using? 9V, Flex or PF Track. The EN has the worst time with Flex track. I am not sure about the 9V. I agree with the advice to make your track level. It is very sensitive to slippage, mine slips all the time crossing switches, etc. The best looking train (of the stock lego sets), just not the best running :(

I am torn about the DO, I like the details but I am not 100% comfortable about the layout. The colors do not bother me and as others have noted it is similar enough to the MS. I am going to wait till I get the building next to my GE to determine if, or how much, I mod it.

British Rail - Class 43 Intercity 125 - 8 wide
pirzyk replied to garethjellis's topic in LEGO Train Tech
In the video, the curved track the train was running on did not look like standard lego curves. Was it? If not, what was the radius? The train is gorgeous, very impressive, kudos. -
I believe the Maersk Container (10219) train is the tallest when you have the containers stacked 2 high. My tunnel is 14 bricks tall before the 1 x 5 x 4 arches are used. They are gapped by a 1 x 4 plate to get the 12 studs wide. Some LTC/LUGs limit the height of a train to be 14 1/2 brick high.

For all the riders to have before they do their century. I did not have enough space to put the coffee shop inside :) I could just build a coffee cart out front, then convert the front to have another bike rack (like the rear), hrm....

My First MO[CD] based on the Pet Shop that I did about 2 years ago. The Pet shop is my favorite modular and the only one I currently own more than one copy of. I built the brownstone as a mirror image and it is displayed next to the original.

Still available in the US Shop@home.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
pirzyk replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I have my modulars in a layout with my trains. I am constantly in a state of re-arranging the layout and tweaking the sets themselves. I just added the gold lattice to the PC today and thinking of how to do the Stadium seating inside (both really good ideas). I have planned on where the DO is going to go, next to my GE, across the street from my Bike Shop (PS mod). -
Hi EB community, My name is Jim. I have finally decided to create an account here on EuroBricks after reading a few forums for a while now. I am a current member of the NILTC LUG (Northern Illinois Lego Train Club). I came out of my dark ages 5 years ago when my SO (Significant Other) purchased me the Emerald Night for Christmas. I am really glad she did, it has become my favorite train set, though followed closely by the Masersk Container train. I have modded and extended that set quite a bit as well. I have since also collected a few of the 9V trains and converted them to Power Functions. I am completely PF and currently working on a MOC of a E7 passenger engine and cars, similar to the Santa Fe but updated. As you can tell I am into Lego Trains but I also have a collection of Modular Buildings. I currently have all of them but the first 2 were BrickLinked with several part replacements. My first MOC was a bike shop based on the PS (Pet Store). I am very much looking forward to the DO (Detective's Office). I have a passing interest in Classic Space but I have not indulged in it more than re-building the first year sets that I had when I was a kid. My parents had the foresight to save them. You can see some of my MOCs in my Brickshelf gallery (same login). All the photography was done by my SO, her interests are in the photography of my MOCs and building Monster Fighters and anything UniKitty related. I am lucky to be able to bounce ideas off of her on what and how to build. - JimP
