  1. Oops, I missed this one. I’ll have to use a fuzzy comparison to find other similar cases (when IDs are totally different and descriptions don’t cross-ref). As for the difference, 3941 is the old type, + axlehole and without underside supports. 6143 is the new type, modern X axlehole, underside supports. There’s also 6116 which is used for transparent parts only. And if you look closely, you’ll find other variants which don’t have a separate number (different underside support, details on the axlehole…). BrickLink decided not to care about the differences and kept the old number. LEGO buried 3941 in the basement, with other old IDs/moulds. Anyway, I’ll add 3941 for import in the next version, but I’ll keep 6143 for export (same ID, newest part).

isn’t, feel free to ask for it. It could be possible to add all the patterned (and formed) variants as importable. I won’t do it because it would make too many entries and the colours and patterns would be lost anyway. (Well, I did it for the Hulk but the unpatterned part doesn’t exist and there are only two coloured parts in LDraw.)
  3. You mean 3665 and 4287? Yes, it’s a problem I haven’t tackled yet. Let’s take 4287 as an example. It has different variants in LDraw: 4287.dat, which is “~Moved,” so deprecated, 4287a.dat, the old type, with thick lip, 4287b.dat, the old type, with thick lip but stop rings inside the hollow studs, 4287c.dat, the new type, with thin lip and stop rings. For now, it’s 4287b which is used. (I was waiting for 4287c to come in but let it burn on the back burner .) That means 4287 in LDD will export as 4287b.dat in LDraw. That also means only 4287b.dat can be imported. It’s a problem. It isn’t frequent nor does it concerns usual parts (except these slopes ) but it happens. For now, I mainly focused on export, trying to use the more accurate and latest variants. But import is important too, so I’ll try to add what’s necessary to be able to import variants. Thanks for reminding me.
  4. Update 2018-03-07 Added: 27152 / 27152.dat Animal Lobster 29115 / 29115.dat Wedge 6 x 6 Triple Inverted 95328 / 95328.dat Minifig Hair Female Mid Length Smooth (Egyptian Queen) md5sum: 52e679ada74092f6ea7fab41f50b364f
  5. My point was EULA apply to services, not goods. You don’t, as you put it, “purchase [the figure] under the same EULA.” That’s nonsensical. And you can’t compare goods (physical things) and services (“digitally”). You purchase the minifigs with no contract attached. Once you have bought goods, you can do whatever you want with them. The manufacturer can decide it’s not proper. They can decide they won’t directly sell to you ever again. But that’s about all they can do. So people can buy minifigs and (re)paint or cut them, and then sell them. On the other hand, accepting the EULA grants you the rights to use the software under certain conditions. It’s a contract. You have do adhere to the contract’s rules or you forfeit the rights you had (be they bought or given for free). LDD’s EULA says people can’t tamper with the software and talk about it. So we don’t. It’s not apples to oranges, it’s atoms to ideas.
  6. You don’t buy goods under a EULA. EULA is for services.

  9. Anywhere on the “java …” line, e.g. right next the -Xmx option (don’t forget to leave spaces around it).
  10. “-Xmx2048m” is the option that tells Java to use 2GB of memory for its heap. Here, it fails. There could be several reasons why it fails. The first one being that you don’t have enough memory. With 16GB and no other application running, I think we can eliminate this case. The next possibility is that your Java is 32bits, not 64bits. So: Is your OS 64bits? Is your Java 64bits? Note that if you have both 64bits and 32bits Java installed, you can force the use of the 64bits with another option: “-d64”.
  11. What’s your total memory? Do you have other applications running? (2097152KiB = 2048MiB = 2GiB)

  14. A .bat file is a Windows thing (actually, it dates back from DOS). It has nothing to do with Java. The .bat extension tells Windows it’s executable. It contains instructions you could simply type in a terminal (command prompt or whatever they call it nowadays). To edit it, you can first open Notepad and then open the file from Notepad (though I think right-click/“Open” would do too, I haven’t a Windows machine nearby). If the new Notepad obnoxiously insists on not wanting to open it because of its extension, you can temporarily change it to .txt. Extensions are just characters. That Microsoft uses them to define what can be done with the file while hiding them is one of the great mysteries of our times. As for the long error message you got, (that is Java ), it’s due to your using Java 9 and not Java 8 (a function disapeared between the versions).
  15. The .bat file is just a plain text file. You can use any simple editor, like Notepad. The “-Xmx8G” is to be added on the “java” line, so that it reads “java -Xmx8G blah…” instead of “java blah…”.
  16. Update 2018-02-19 Added: 33492 / 33492.dat Cone 1.5 x 1.5 x 0.667 Truncated 57528 / 57528.dat Technic Bionicle Weapon Pincer 8 x 7 Modified (new Unofficial version): 53983 / 53983.dat Propellor 24 Blade 10 Diameter with Case md5sum: be1730da6318f02c7b2842a98f88d6bd
  17. IMVHO: 3 is the best of the five, but the trans parts are a bit “frosty.” 4 and 5: too much reflection, too sharp too (the reflection is sharper than the bricks!). 1 and 2: not enough reflection, and yes, the trans parts are very “frosty” (almost like tracing paper (“papier calque”)).
  18. You can also export to LDraw in LDD, move the parts in the LDraw CAD of you choice, then reimport in LDD. Only export/import one of these parts, otherwise, when importing, LDD might mix the parts and not assemble the matching subparts (it’s fun though).
  19. I thought it would but, no, it doesn’t. The stick is too large / the hole too small.
