[COR - FB] Western Wind - Class 2
Sir Stig replied to Flavius Gratian's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very nice ship. "..only once.." If it was an example picture I would be leaning more towards class 3, but it is never a problem to build it bigger than the class it is licensed as. -
I'm just very slow in the posting process. Hope it was not too annoying.

My take on Elostirions BoBs CMF series idea. Series 1, by @Elostirion Series 2, by @Ayrlego Series 3, by @Capt Wolf Series 4: Corrington Explorer Getting into the jungle is no problem for any Corrington explorers. The ones that find their way out again, often have wild tales from nature, that earn them respect from other nerds. Young Corlander Butterfly Collector "Curiosity found out what killed the cat" is a common catchphrase in the Corrington scholar system. Here is a young corlander trying to find butterflies that mimic flower patterns. Corrington Chocolatiér Nothing is as sweet as landing a job in Corringtons booming chocolate business. Only the most stubborn scientific persistence could have led to the discovery of the right processing technique for turning the bitter cocoa beans into sweet chocolate afternoon delight. Myzec Cathunter The Myzec are masters of hunting cats of Cascadia. Mostly in self defence, but their furs fetch a good price from the strange new people from the west. Oleon Naval Officer The officers of the Oleon Navy are no less flashy then their ships. Oleon Noblesse Statue The noblesse of Oleon are known for their family crests, and likes to display their heritage. Oleon Swabber Oleon likes to keep their ships shiny, and their dirt under the carpet, so a lot of their navy have started swabbing decks. Mardier Aristocrat Some in Mardier are getting rich despite the nations misfortunes. Eslandolan Musician A new kind of music are washing through the brick seas. The latest sound is a high pitch whining instrument that takes years of patience to play in tune. The Eslandolans knows how to appreciate improvisation. Some call it art. Eslandolan Boomstickman The blunderbuss is a fierce weapon, and the armor is mostly used for protection from it, rather than the enemy. The range or accuracy is so-so, but the thunderous sound and choking sulphurous smoke clouds makes it worth it. Old Deluded Man with a stick and bone This became my favorite detail from Eslandolas Colonial Council Hall, perhaps because it came about from improvisation instead of planning. I gave him an encore in this CMF series, simply because I like him. Garvey Trader The people of Garvey are bound to the sea, and trade runs in their veins. Many have tried to earn a profit on their expense, so many from Garvey are suspicious by nature. Sea Rat Occultist Contrary to popular beliefs, you don't worship dark arts, you practice it. The most daring occultist in the Brick Seas have called themselves free men. Perhaps they are on to something... Sea Rat Mercenary This sea rat will be at the mercy of no man. When you have to learn to fend for yourself, you might as well earn some doubloons doing it. Sea Rat Farmer A common occupation in the colonies, also amongst the Sea Rats, is farming. This is a hemp farmer, selling his crops to ropemakers, tailors, sailcloth makers and such. Rum Runner Rum runners are common in the Brick Seas, and (even though this one is currently employed by Eslandola - Captain on the Silver Scythe) could belong to any nation.

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Sir Stig replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Yes -
Good question. I guess it depends if you build your adventure in steps, or as one continuing story. I assume the story could always be connected through several adventure runs. ruleswise, I don't know.

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Sir Stig replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Can we add a section in the Master Index with NPC common colors and examples of uniforms. I keep mixing up different nations, especially yellow/orange, but also purple. I am putting together some CMF, trying to follow up Elostirion and Ayrlegos posts, and I don't want to add confusion. Examples in the old discussion thread are missing the pictures :/ Here is what my brain can't seem to fathom: Mardier: Yellow? Orange? Terraversa: Purple? Gray? Garvey: Orange? gray? -
Yay! I've been missing your story telling technique. Shoreline and water is outstanding. Hefty amount of curves and detail on that scale.
-
Yet... Using the exact sets - not so much. Changing the colors and/or redesign parts of it would have to be what I think is the minimum for calling it a MOC (you need to have an MOC to license a ship if in the EGS). I prefer as few restrictions as possible to keep the imagination/fun and games as open as possible. I appreciate rules for the RPG aspect. Also, new players should not feel threatened that their builds are not good enough. Personally I put too much pressure on myself to improve with every build, so I appreciate when someone lightens the mood and takes the seriousness level down a notch.

New Ship Classes - The Transition
Sir Stig replied to Kolonialbeamter's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Where can I get the stats for ships that I licensed (If I for example have forgotten the exact stats )? I sent in a license form, but on the ship in question, the ship license entry list returns this: Thu May 19 2016 08:23:48 GMT-0400 (EDT) | Sir Stig | Silver Scythe | Eslandola | Yes | 1 - 3 ships | Class 2 F (100DB) | Not licensed at all | http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=131245&hl | -
I don't know what to vote, since I also prefer the latest suggestion. @Kolonialbeamter: Wherever there is mess, I thrive (that's why I never get done with sorting before I need more mess). I have a new suggestion (to add more confusion): Winning a challenge takes a tremendous skill level, and as more eras pass it will fill up slots anyway. I want to echo @Kwatchi that a clear faction tag is preferable. What about having the latest suggestions in bronze for one era, silver for two, gold for three. And use the Era specific tags in the signature (since we have a lot more room in the signature)? It will still look impressive and carry a bit of weight, but the exclusiveness should not be so intimidating that it goes on the expense of inclusiveness (for new and evolving players).

@Kolonialbeamter: I agree. The coins are very nice, and fitting for the era, as you say. I'd love one of those. Thank you for making them. -
The Empire of Eslandola: Sign-Up and Discussion, Era II
Sir Stig replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I just built 3 residences in Puerto Desafio. Now all the town needs is show a little more of the culture (Art&Culture), and Puerto Desafio will be recognized as a large town in the region. If inspiration comes. We'll see.- 243 replies

The best thing about being a merchant was returning home to your most valuable assets with reassurance that the trade have gone well, and the family will survive another stormy period (I don't know if it is monsoons, or fall/winters in this region, but whatever the equivalent of that is). Three of the many refurbished residences in Puerto Desafio. I tried to make 3 different styles of buildings (Dutch/spanish, German/Suisse, French/Italian -ish), 3 different roof techniques and some training on groundwork/paths. I am trying to improve my quick build skills for buildings, and my overall groundwork, so C&C welcome :) I'll see if I manage to get some better pictures when it is daylight, and when this flu stops bothering me. I will license as 3 separate small residences (built on one 16x32 and one 16x16 base). Edit. More pictures:

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Sir Stig replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Post office is a little outdated, isn't it? What I hope for: -Some kind of education facility. -Art shop/gallery. I hope Lego adjust their approach to modulars: - make them into 16x16 buildings with two or more alternate interior solutions. Combine two and get a 16x32. combine more for bigger buildings. - It also lowers the entry level for collecting modular buildings, while making it more customizable. So each Lego city will be more unique, even if they are based on the same sets. - If they make the sidewalk much more narrow, they can utilise the inside area, and it would fit the road baseplates better. - It could even have open back as a 16x16. When you combine two, you simply move one side of each to the back to get an enclosed 16x32 modular with open solution inside. Add more for height, width or dual sided facades. As an added bonus open back also appeal to city collectors. It takes a little more effort in designing the sets, but it opens up many possibilities. Windows could be 2 wide on 16 wide version, 4 on 32 wide version (maybe some 6 wide on upper floors). Using half arches where possible also increases options for customization. The instructions would be bigger though, with 2/3/4 alternate versions. Could have one alternate, with link to online instructions. Buying even more of the same set, replacing the facade bricks and moc interior is also an option. -
One separate post for the build, and links to the build in a post under Expedition Topic? Or everything in the Expedition Topic thread? If the latter, then the link submitted in the form refers to the particular post. If there is room to misinterpretate, I'm on it

Okay, I did it. Seemed alright.

Another clever marketing strategy... Looks good ;)

What about the old fishing store. That's a very nice standalone build as far as I can see. I don't own it yet, but it looks stunning.

The Bagpipe Factory in Pontelli
Sir Stig replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Oh, the classic pirate set look of this! And the little houses... Great to see hear more Eslandolan culture. You should start a traveling bagpipe band and travel the world to perform. With a regiment that show of their drills to the music. Just in case, and to show Eslandolan discipline- 15 replies
