Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Scarilian replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
It'll get a lot easier soon. WandaVision is going to pick-up speed as we get closer to the end of the series we'll have more to speculate on, especially in regards to how it might connect to Spider-man 3 or Doctor Strange 2. March gives us the end of WandaVision, could maybe get a surprise set or figure release based off CM4Sci's remarks about her costume April gives us the two Shang Chi sets and the Shang Chi Polybag May gives us the Carnage Head/Bust June gives us a bunch of sets August gives us a confirmed Disney+ set and the CMF series to collect October and EoY gives us the Spider-man theme sets, the Eternals sets, etc... Plus sometime in 1HY we get the D2C, as mentioned maybe we'll be lucky and that will be released in March. We'll also get descriptions, leaks of figures, etc... to tide us over. I feel it's just February & potentially most of March is the 'calm before the storm' of Lego Marvel stuff :p -

Eh... even then I don't see why the Shang Chi sets would release a month earlier. Current remarks have the sets & the polybag for April. -

Anyway... Only things that are MCU related that would have potential for March would be the D2C (Still hoping for that 17th Feb reveal) or something WandaVision related that would be unvieled after the end of the series. -

Before it was delayed and eventually cancelled, NYTF 2021 would have occured roughly over the course of this week. Lego could still do some official reveals online without the Toy Fair if we are very lucky, as they would naturally want to market sets releasing soon, though chances are admittedly slim. Hopefully the D2C could be revealed on the 17th like the Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition for a March release, though lack of leaks about the set make me expect it sadly won't be. At the very least the next week or so should hopefully clear up if we are getting anything movie or show related in March. Hope for a potential Disney+ Wanda Vision set revealed near or after the end of the show on March 5th. Otherwise March will only deliver us sets like 76170 & 76175. On the bright side, after March we start getting into the good stuff and we'll have a lot more to chat about as we get releases more often. I would lean towards them being Spider-man 3 sets also, though we only know they are some part of the 'Spider-man theme' and the remarks from Falcon hint that perhaps we should not immediately assume they are Spider-man 3 sets So trying to think of an explanation of why they would be delayed if they are not Spider-man 3 sets, the only things I could think of were for marketting or if they included an aspect. _____________________________ I am not sure if this is concept art for the show or a fan depiction, but I think it gives a rough idea of how Wanda's new costume might look. In terms of a figure: Would likely need to be a headpiece/hair combo piece (Something like Thorin Oakenshield's one would be fine) Maybe dual molded arms, skintone upper segment, red with a red hand Printed torso is fairly evident Could probably get away with black legs and a red cloth piece around them like in the Civil War sets -

I can see your justification to saying its not a spoiler if they officially reveal it. Though the popularity on December 11th & January 1st compared to nowadays shows many fans may have missed early aspects - I know I missed the costume aspect and seems a few others did also. Though I guess we now have implied confirmation of a figure with a new costume which is neat The source tweet from Charles Murphy includes discussion and concept art that would have potentially helped focus the topic around an entire new costume rather than the mistake of just the headpiece, that's all I'm saying on that aspect. -

What is so difficult about providing a source? I just wanted to see the source myself for context because you started on about a new costume and the only thing that the source actually confirmed was the headpiece which naturally led to Cosmos, TOTDForever and myself considering other options because we were unaware of a new costume and the source did not specify an entire new costume. Not everyone here knows you and regardless of that, asking for a source is not a reason to generally be rude to me. Falcon keeps throwing out information saying they are potentially not SM3 sets, but if so why did a 1HY set get pushed back to October? What made them get pushed back? I'm speculating and discussing which is the entire point of a forum, mentioning varying options. What is your explanation for that if they are not SM3 sets? @hvader what's your viewpoint to explain it also? I really don't grasp how you ignore the fact we are seeing unprecidented delays with an unprecidented line-up of sets and a lot of new variable factors thrown into the mix such as the D2C, CMF series, potential for Legacy sets and the Disney+ shows - let along the films and film related sets. This year throws a lot of new stuff at us and speculation is going to go a lot of different ways in an attempt to keep discussion going. Merchandising can now release months or years before a movie (Black Widow) and we can see sets long before we get them (Eternals). If you are 'done with me' thats fine, hopefully it means you'll stop talking down to me for simply asking you to link to a source after you started having a go at people about not knowing a spoiler for WandaVision that they had kept hidden from trailers. -

I'm theorising that mostly due to release date. If it's a WandaVision set it'd make more sense to release closer to WandaVision airing. It finishes early March so it could have been a set that releases in March or maybe June... but an August release? feels like that Disney+ set is for a later series. That said, we do have the cryptic message that our current list might not be all we are getting so who knows honestly. I'm just trying to stick to a layout. -

If you are the one claiming they said it, that reliability is on you unless people can see the source for themselves. I could claim that any reliable leaker said anything, and unless I prove that then it's going to be disputed and people will require proof that the leaker actually said it. If the leaker source is public, then linking it moves the reliability to the source from the person reporting on it. That's why when I remark on a new bit of information I provide the source. If his source is Lego - how would a single WandaVision Disney+ set automatically mean "you won't have to" see her "without her headpiece again". I think either she's included in more than that or she's included in the new costume in something set after WandaVision for CM4Sci to be certain of it. Otherwise she could turn up in a new costume for an episode of WandaVision and then never wear it past that point similar to how she changed costumes at the end of AoU and then wore a different one the next time we saw her, it speaks to me more of the figure being re-used in multiple sets or released in a later set based on a future property. Though I guess that's going to happen regardless as I don't see them changing the design much between WandaVision and Doctor Strange 2 unless something drastic happens I'd prefer you not to. I'm just trying to approach this rationally and rule out options - especially seeing as the only Disney+ set we of aware of is in August. I don't want to jump on the idea of a WandaVision Disney+ set existing automatically, especially if it means a set that is not part of those we are currently aware of. With the release date of the Disney+ shows chances are that the August set would be based on the Mrs Marvel Disney+ series which is believed to be released between 'What If' and 'Hawkeye' - which would fit a rough timeframe that might warrant an August set. Admittedly that could be for any series released prior though. -

I feel from the remark about context it is evident that you are connecting two seperate pieces of information based on you having knowledge that others did not at the time. I'm speculating/querying information and you have a source, could provide a link, but preferred to be dismissive and get annoyed at me wanting a source. You said it was easy, just go read it, but it had been deleted and was only accessed through a cache. How were most people here expected to find that on their own? It feels like it over complicated the situation beyond what was in any sense necessary simply by not sourcing your info - which is something that has constistently caused problems in the Marvel forums from people claiming leaks without providing a source. If any other individual made claims about a leaker, you would be requesting a source also. As for the remarks, I'm not dismissive of you, so I do not see why you are being so dismissive of me. The majority were unaware of the new costume which has not been shown in trailers and hidden from most media, only via twitter character posters that needed to be combined and easily overshadowed at the time was it revealed. It's only with context of a new costume that the comment makes sense to apply to a brand new costume in entirety. As you said, it had been teased not revealed and most had not even seen the teasers. I'd argue you spoiled that aspect for myself and likely others, as otherwise with knowledge of a confirmed new costume they would have latched onto the aspect of a new costume straight from the start. Spoilers about such aspects cannot really be helped, but with no awareness of the new costume people naturally speculated on a return of the Halloween Costume. Without the context of a brand new potentially permanent costume the comment itself can be viewed as referring to the head piece returning, people who were unaware of the new costume could easily have speculated the Halloween costume return or the head piece remaining as it would make sense to pick up where the story left off given events in Episode 6 and we know from trailers that we have the potential to revisit previous episodes or styles. It could also be argued that the Halloween Episode makes the most sense to adapt into a set as it features more comic inspired outfits and given the sitcom style nature what better way to end it than a warped take on the 'clip show' premise most have. While I like the optimism, we don't have a set number or pricing for a potential Disney+ set releasing anytime soon (Other than the August Disney+ set). It's quite strange to have a Disney+ set we know about in August but not know about one that could be releasing in say March or 1HY if it's based on WandaVision. Unless they are referring to the August set. While Doctor Strange: MoM is too far away, I don't see how the other Disney+ shows or SM3 could be ruled out. We know Doctor Strange plays a role in SM3, so why not Wanda who is already confirmed for Doctor Strange: MoM. I just would lean more naturally to previously confirmed sets than jumping on a new one we are unaware of existing at this time. -

You never specified where it could be found beyond your remark which if you are claiming is the 'whole conversation' gives absolutely no clarity that it was referring to a new suit, simply confirming the head piece returns based on what CM4Sci knows about the sets. People are not mind readers and the only things avoiding linking did was to cause three users to misunderstand and needlessly cause confusion. Providing a source is not only helpful, but needed when you give people no idea of where to find it. As for randomly directing people to Twitter now, his original account was suspended and his new account is innactive (Zero tweets) and just to be completely sure this is a bot account, this is a troll account, this is a fan account and this is random. No other CM4Sci related account is on Twitter. You can find the exact tweet from Charles Murphy here, with a potential leak from the show/movies regarding WandaVision in the comments, but zero response from CM4Sci. Not a single mention of Lego, not a single mention of CM4Sci, not a single example of the quote you provided. So once again, do you have a link to the source? -
Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Scarilian replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Link the source for these things. There was no mention of a new suit nor any clarification that it'd be solely related to WandaVision in what you relayed, simply that the head piece would be retained/return. This does imply it would be retained/return in the MCU future of the character though, meaning whatever they are referring to is in a movie/show based set The only Disney+ set we are aware of is in August, the same time as the CMF series. I can see justification for a CMF over a set, especially when the show primarily focuses around characters that are going to show up in other shows/movies this year and next. Wanda is believed to be linked to the multiverse aspect that results in the connection between WandaVision, Doctor Strange 2 and Spider-man 3 - it's likely she appears in some form in all three, especially seeing as Spider-man is teaming up with Doctor Strange in SM3. Other than those sets/minifigure series - the only option would be something hidden such as a Disney+ set, polybag release, minfigure pack - whatever it is the context seems to be it is MCU based. These sets were at one stage planned for around the release of SM3, the 4+ set was originally amongst those listed for a 1HY release and now it's moved to October. I'm trying to work with a scenario the world has not experienced with delays of films of over a year and understand Lego's justification for not selling the sets when they easily could, and the only things that would make sense are that: They are Spider-man 3 sets Sets are loosely connected to Spider-man 3, even if not released under the Spider-man 3 theme Lego want to capitalise on the release of Spider-man 3 so moved unrelated sets closer to the release date In regards to releasing prior to the film, in a pre-pandemic time with the film releasing in July we would have had a teaser trailer in December and likely our first trailer with the Superbowl, announcements, merchandise leaks, etc... so that a loosely tied SM3 set would be fine releasing in 1HY with the film releasing in July. I can see Lego delaying the SM3 sets instantly to be closer to the film, but holding off on the loosely connected sets in the hopes they would be allowed to release them. The lack of advertising and revealing aspects of the film is why I think loosely connected sets could be delayed. I guess we will have to wait and see what they are That is why I specified "I feel that would be a set which Lego might have delayed if that was in a similar position" as in if that set was scheduled for release around the same time as FFH and then FFH got pushed back six months. -

I meant no idea why they got pushed back if they are not Spider-man 3 sets, related or trying to leech off Spider-man popularity when a new movie appears -

76174 has elements from Far From Home in the form of movie accurate drones and Mysterio (Albeit comic accurate) using a new piece they introduced in the Far From Home sets. I feel that would be a set which Lego might have delayed if that was in a similar position. Chances are we won't know until we see them and even then they may have been pushed back simply because that way they can release them alongside potentially other Spider-man sets. The most surprising would be Legacy Spider-man sets adapting from the previous movies No clue, but I do find it interesting they got pushed back, wonder why -

Mentioned some potential reasons earlier, but generally the set could be either trying to sell based on the popularity of the movie OR it may have elements/pieces from the Spider-man 3 sets that they don't want revealed so early. It could be loosely connected to Spider-man 3 without being a Spider-man 3 set. Unsure about your location but 76166 is still around I think, though would not be surprised if it retires sometime this year. -

Not necessarily a Disney+ WandaVision set. Could be CMF series later in this year, could be the Disney+ set, could even be Spider-man 3 if she shows up there as he's meant to be mentored by Doctor Strange and Wanda could be involved in that. To a lesser extent could even be a comic inspired Wanda or a polybag including her with a headpiece. We don't know exactly what CM4Sci has heard. At its core CM4Sci is only talking about Wanda retaining the head piece. The description we have in terms of the compiled list of sets is that they are releasing under the 'Spider-man' theme. This does not confirm they are Spider-man 3 sets, though the delayed could hint they have elements from Spider-man 3 - it could simply be that Lego would prefer to release the Spider-man sets closer together to profit from the attention the movie gives the Spider-man theme. -

Theorised this match-up in the past, the idea of a Carnage head/bust and a later Venom head/bust Though admittedly I don't see why they would potentially delay the other 18+ set if it is a Venom head/bust, though Falcon has admittedly hinted it might be releasing in June. Though yeah, leaning towards it being Venom, as I said before; "why would'nt they make the protagonist of the movie into a Head/Bust also?" -
Lego Ideas 90th Anniversary Fan Vote
Scarilian replied to Calanon's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Did some rough counting of the votes and the themes voted for round 1, a lot of people seem to have voted for 3 of the 4 themes that are now in round 2, which makes judging how they could vote difficult. I think generally we have a lot higher chance for extreme variance than people really expect as most these users could vote for any of them and still be on track with how they voted in the previous poll. I'm also curious what will happen with those who voted only for themes that did not get accepted, will they take part in the 2nd poll? and if so which would they vote for that they did not support prior. I think Lego has considered other options for Bionicle. They would hopefully not have included it unless they had an option of adapting it within the timeframe. Some ideas I've seen floated around, or ideas I've had about a potential 90th anniversary Bionicle set: Replica of the Mata Nui Island Mosaic Unity, Duty, Destiny symbol Head/Bust of a character from the series A large Voltron-style robot form of Mata Nui Brick built Bionicle mech (Similar to 'In Arishems Shadow') Something inspired by the 20th Anniversary Ideas Set A playset with minifigure scale figures Etc... While I like the idea of a Toa Six-pack set, Lego has a lot of ways they could tackle the set Oh, and throw in a molded new Mask Of Time & G2 Mask Of Ultimate Power to help it make G2 feel finalised. I think they will continue doing Classic themed creator sets like the Pirates (2020) and Castle (2021) set regardless of the poll. Space could be the next one if they continue that aspect. Most likely this poll was a method of trying to include fans never expecting it to become what it has. -

I mean, we only had the Hulkbuster helmet for the Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition - and we may or may not have Korg from the D2C set? I'm still optimistic they will surprise us with a Feb 17th reveal for a March release. Even if it surprised us all with a reveal on the 17th Feb like the Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition, it would likely not release until March at the earliest and would still be available for a long while after that. The price is $299.99 and its expected to release 1HY, so you could take that into account, but the Marvel D2C will likely be around longer than the 1989 Batwing due to the Batwing being released last year so if you are getting both then 1989 Batwing would probably be the thing to go for first. Though obviously not seen the Marvel D2C so cannot comment on how good that is Nice. I think the Left option works better for the creepy factor they went with in the show. Posted a pic of the character's face and a potential head option in the spoilers :) -

May try the data shifting I mentioned at some point, if Stonewars does not do so. Would give us a bit more of a potential idea of the likelihood of the winner being a specific theme Maybe, the trouble being that the styles and designs of the Castle themes including Classic Castle and other subthemes vary a lot. If Castle were to win, I think it'd be tricky designing a set that would appeal to those who supported the specific subthemes. Maybe including two Castles, one Fantasy, one Medieval would work? or the potential to rebuild a Medieval Castle to be more Fantasy inspired? Thanks, did not want to annoy anyone. I feel that Lego might be nervous to adapt another wave of Bionicle, so if Bionicle did win and they only were to provide a single set for the 90th anniversary it would give them an 'out'. If the set sells well then they can make a G3, if the set underperforms then they have no commitment to making a continuation. Though yes, the poll does serve as market research also and I expect Lego to use the results to influence themes they make in the future - so whatever sets wins, chances are we'll see more of the themes in the future because of this. I hope Lego will adapt some of the smaller themes such as Rock Raiders, Aquazone, Time Cruisers, Adventurers, etc... those never really stood much of a chance due to being short lived. -

You are right, I'm mostly leaning towards Thunderstrike as inspiration because of how easy it'd be to switch out Eric for Jane along with streamlining the story. It's insanely far away from release though, so other than the potential for a re-used Korg and the main characters we don't have much to go off really I think 'Thor Corps' is something they are aiming for eventually, maybe we'll see a smaller scale version of it in Thor: Love & Thunder. -

Can get the exact remark here. It sounds like they will reveal the winner of the vote, maybe potentially the results of the vote alongside it - when the set itself is launched/revealed in 2022. Chances are it'd be 2HY 2022 given Lego's anniversary is in August Originally the 2nd poll seemed to not matter, with Lego picking any of the three - but Castle seems to have changed things and now Lego seem to have changed plans again to use the results of the 2nd poll to decide - as I doubt they would announce the 90th set and then reveal that theme placed 2nd, 3rd or 4th place on the poll... As a sidenote, Castle seems to be getting a lot of representation in the recent first 2021 review. Think we are up to four Castle related sets in some form. So hopefully Castle will get a set regardless. ---- With that said, if we have access to the raw data it might be possible to judge the winner for ourselves somewhat if we correlated the data from the 1st poll and labelled what each user voted for individually, then break that down into a single vote reflecting the choices they have made if they have an obvious sway towards a particular theme ofcourse. Naturally this would not account for users switching to support other themes that are not reflective of the first vote and it would not account for new users or those who voted for themes that are not subthemes of Pirates, Space or Castle - but it has potential. Stonewars might be able to do that, so you could keep an eye on them. Otherwise we are in for a long wait, or a lot of data shifting -

So, Thor seems to be inspired by Thunderstrike's portrayal of Thor. I think if the story is adapting from this, we may have an incredibly early hint of potential aspects for the sets to adapt. Thor (Probably a new outfit) Jane Foster Valkyrie Gorr The God Butcher Star Lord Sif Drax The Destroyer Mantis Nebula Rocket Groot Korg (Likely to be re-used in sets if we are getting his figure this year) Meik Kraglin Beta Ray Bill? 'Thunderstrike' magic mace might be a new weapon Stormbreaker is still in Thor's possesion Reforged Mjolnir seems likely given the announcement of Jane Foster holding Mjolnir Thor's goats and potentially the chariot -

I would agree, though I would not count Pirates out completely. Those who voted Imperials might have voted Pirates and a four way poll means votes would be split slightly more between the themes. I guess we are in for a long wait for the reveal now though. Lego was founded 10th August (1932), so maybe that'll be the 2022 release date for the anniversary set, or at the least nearby It's not much but it's the most logical option in my mind, would give them just about a year and a half from now. -

As far as I know my interactions with other users in this thread have been polite discussion. Even if we've had conflicting opinions but talk has been civil with them defending their point and me defending mine. I'm unsure if anyone feels otherwise, would be good to know as not trying to have arguements, just discussions on topics. If anyone feels differently please pm. As unfortunate as that option is, I can see the reasoning. Lego would not want to risk revealing the 90th anniversary theme or nature of the set out of a concern it would give knock off companies a chance to create rival sets for the same time. In addition if this poll had been handled better, perhaps with less options, chances are it would not have created the conflict it has done and people would simply be hyped for the set reveal. A lot of the conflict would occur regardless sadly due to the nature of long lasting themes getting more votes and the potential for Bionicle as a long running post 2000's theme to appeal to more of the younger Lego target demographic who are active on Lego Ideas. I'd hope Lego will address the results somehow, even if it's just a remark that hints at plans to adapt all the Top 4 sets in future. I can understand the hype from seeing the comments section, personally like seeing all the fan art and mocs of varying themes, but given how many voters there are it'd be fairly easily to see a string of several comments about castle and that not be reflected overall. Temper expectations is all I'm saying, it could be any of the four honestly. Would hope for all four to get some form of sets over the next few years - if Lego announced such an aspect that could tide us over as fans.
