  1. One of the flaws of the 2nd poll is that due to the subthemes being combined together you cover a large range of themes - several in wildly different styles such as fantasy vs non-fantasy. Lego acknowledges this, but seemingly fails to realise that if Castle were to win, the resulting 90th anniversary set has virtually no chance to please the entire audience of the countless themes they just combined. While Lego thinks the solution was combining the subthemes, my solution would have been to never include them to begin with. If Classic Castle was popular or won the hypothetical poll, then perhaps you'd adapt some of the subthemes after Classic Castle's popularity has been demonstrated. My version of 'Classic Castle' would be as defined by Brickset - this way if the theme won, people would know what to expect and it'd be more likely people would buy the finished product. The idea was to make it clear what you vote is what you are going to get. Classic Space would also be as defined by Brickset, it has a lot more years than 'Classic Castle' but generally the sets are all fairly similar in style so fans would know roughly what they are going to get. I'd leave them out because the popularity of the poll would determine the viability of subthemes, which would then be adapted into sets in future waves. It's impossible to replicate all the subthemes in a single 90th anniversary set, but a potential wave of Castle focusing on the pre-2000's Fantasy/Non-fantasy subthemes or a potential wave of Space focusing on the pre-2000's variations seems a better approach.
  2. They did put 'Classic Castle' in the original poll, it ranked 6th place Classic Castle -12603 In my hypothetical poll, which is the context for the conversation you are responding to, to make it easier for people to understand I decided to remove the subthemes completely and keep it as solely Classic Castle (Yes the same batch that had the Yellow Castle). I also did the same for Space. The goal was that the hypothetical scenario would have made it clearer what people would get if they voted for the theme. This helps give voters a better understanding of what they are voting for than voting 'Castle' in the official poll and getting anything ranging from Classic Castle to the variety of subthemes that are included under the 'Castle' theme thanks to Lego shoving it all together. As Lego themselves mentioned, many of the subthemes are split between fantasy and non-fantasy so it makes no sense for Lego to have bundled them all under Castle because a potential finalised set would have no chance of appeasing everyone - as opposed to if they had not included any of the subthemes in this poll and simply put 'Classic Castle' and released a set based on the Yellow Castle or similar Classic Castle sets. Subthemes could have been adapted another method - but should not have been put here.
  3. They also spelled Knight as 'Night' Every theme they listed as part of the 90th Anniversary poll was to decide which 'Classic' theme to revive... so would'nt they all be Classic now? But that's semantics at this point Indeeds. Hopefully Lego adapts all the popular themes over the next few years and uses the information from the shorter running themes to potentially trial bringing them back also.
  4. Poll closes February 10th at 11AM CEST 2021. So 15 minutes? (Unless I'm derping) Edit: In theory the poll should be closed now... unsure why it is not. Might take a while for Lego to update to show the poll has closed. In terms of when we will know the theme, I'd guess Lego will spend a week or so verifying the results are legitimate before revealing it. We'll probably get an announcement that the poll has closed, thanking everyone for votes and potentially saying when they will reveal the winner. Though Lego could potentially keep the results hidden until 2022 for a 'surprise' and to prevent other companies from trying to leech off Lego's 90th anniversary set. I think in general if we don't hear the winner by the end of the month, chances are it would be kept hidden until 2022.
  5. Honestly, would stick to Classic Castle - an adaption of one of the earlier sets. The subthemes are too varied for a singular 90th set to appeal to them, even Lego has acknowledged this by stating about how some are fantasy themed and some are more realistic. It should be clear to fans what they are voting for so if/when a theme is selected they would have a rough expectation of what the 90th anniversary set would be, which would make it more likely they would buy the finished product. I'm unsure how subthemes would be tackled, potentially as an entirely seperate aspect to determine people's favourite of a certain overall theme.
  6. Lego Marvel Magazine apparently giving us a Thor minifigure, featuring the same Torso as in the 76169: Thor Mech Armor. As far as I can tell nothing unique about the figure itself though. Don't forget the D2C. Meant to be a 1HY. Could occur whenever. Middle of February has potential due to Lego normally revealing things via NYTF and having a potential D2C reveal on February 17th IF it mirrors when the Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition D2C was revealed. If we don't get anything around then, we'll mostly be waiting on random leaks as we won't have anything really to go off in regards to potential dates other than maybe the end of WandaVision around the start of March.
  7. By removing rumored and confirmed future appearances, we have ruled it would likely be based on Ragnarok or Endgame, the only places Korg appeared. I feel the remark about it not being a guarantee hints that Korg is either some accessory that would accompany a set or that we should dismiss the D2C as being where Korg appears and focus on the Summer sets. If it's Prowler, it's likely a new version or comic inspired version - given the shoulder pads. Most versions of Prowler don't have them as prominantly, and have not seen any with that particular double shoulder pad aspect. Generally Kraven aims to kill Spider-man to prove himself the world's greatest hunter. He has a code of honor and justice that generally results in him sparing Spider-man. The stories most fans gravitate towards for a film adaptation rely on him interacting with the savage lands OR adapting Kraven's Last Hunt. The later is generally a story if they never intend to adapt Kraven again - as it's a more final end to the character. The most likely movie approach for the character is arguably using Ultimate Kraven as a rough guide. Personally I have always liked the idea of Kraven going after the Lizard, and Spider-man caught between stopping the Lizard's rampage while at the same time protecting the Lizard. This would cause Kraven to slowly move his sights to Spider-man also. I feel such a concept would emphasise the 'humanity' that is core to the characters.
  8. FalconFan confirmed that the Korg helmet/head piece is not part of Thor 4, I missed that before. Spider-man 3 was delayed to November 2021 in April 2020 also, taking the spot of Doctor Strange 2, yet production of the Lego sets (At least the $19.99 ones) seems unaffected as they were at one stage listed for mid year release. People have gotten quite confused over the Korg situation even you asked them and got no response, we had some remarks hinting it would not be the D2C, then some remarks saying how people were jumping on it being the D2C, then dismissing Thor (Admittedly missed this) and dismissing Thor 4 , then dismissing it being from Shang Chi. As others have pointed out, this has whittled down the list considerably so the options are then: Retailer exclusive Minifigure pack Polybag CMF NYTF/Similar exclusive Summer sets As far as I can tell most, if not all, of these options have been dismissed due to a lack of set information such as price or number (Retailer Exclusive, Minifigure pack), exclusivity of the figure (Polybag, NYTF/Exclusive) or length of time between the leak and a potential release (CMF, Summer sets) Clearly something is incorrect as we've ruled out every viable option - hence why I'm asking for clarity - not out of a desire to rush information, but simply to confirm information that has already been relayed by FalconFan and hopefully to shed light on the situation.
  9. I trust what you are saying as factual. I'd just prefer if the information being relayed helped focus discussion or speculation. No bickering here 2021 is an odd years for film related Lego and at the moment the other themes are getting details about sets or leaked images (Sometimes even official images) and all we have are prices, generalised themes, a potential situation of more delays due to most of them being film associated and a single minifigure helmet that we are unsure which of the many sets it belongs to. I cannot speak for others, but personally I am at the point where I'd like to be able to focus the speculation and discussion towards information we are aware of. Korg being in any of those sets is a lot of potential for discussion, but arguably that'd spiral out of control, this thread has already ended up talking about Ships, Asgard, Infinity Gaunlets, Endgame, Legacy theme, etc... We need something more to ground this in 2021 set discussion rather than just a wishlist and at the same time promote discussion during the current lapse of information If we get nothing revealed because NYTF was cancelled and the D2C is not revealed Feb 17th for a release in March/April then our next new sets are in May and those are movie associated and could be delayed (Shang Chi sets & Carnage Helmet) which would mean our next new sets would be June. I cannot see the topic really lasting without leaks or speculation/discussion that can be gathered from them. Especially as Disney seems reluctant to tease more than the Disney+ shows and as far as we know we are only getting a singular set from those in August. True, and as others have said, it is fun to speculate I'm hoping that Feb 17th provides us the D2C reveal so we can spend until March discussing it, analysing it and trying to figure out how it is made. Then March/April to play/modify it to tide us over until we get some descriptions or information about the Shang Chi sets or the Carnage Helmet in May... or we get a hint towards the Summer wave.
  10. The poll is just generally a mess. Could have been solved by a single vote per person with the options being: Bionicle Classic Space Pirates Trains Adventurers Classic Castle Town Model Team Rock Raiders Studios Aquazone Alpha Team Paradisa Time Cruisers Arctic Divers Everything else is a subtheme and would distract from the users primary choice, admittedly the poll could probably be decreased further by removing aspects that are currently being adapted. Even then, it's long lasting themes VS short lived themes, so long lasting themes would still generally be favourable to win. As of the moment, the subthemes and multiple votes from the first round have led to a lot of conflict. We cannot even easily roll in the subthemes without risk of misconstruing votes. As far as I'm concerned the only method now would be to pretty much ignore the 1st poll and then use the 2nd poll to decide, but the problem is the 2nd poll is hidden so whatever set is selected will feature skepticism from the fanbase - unless Lego makes the votes and results publically visible afterwards. It's a real mess of a situation to be in.
  11. So is it the D2C or the Avengers Wave or something else?
  12. Factory leaks can come from any stage of the factory production of the piece. The first Hulkbuster D2C leaks came in the form of the dome piece which leaked such a long time prior to release that many dismissed it as being fake. Remember the original release dates for these films and possible set release dates as such: Eternals (November 2020) - Sets October? Shang Chi (February 2021) - Sets January/February? Doctor Strange 2 (May 2021) - Sets May/June? Spider-man 3 (July 2021) - Sets June/July? Thor 4 (November 2021) - Sets October? I don't see how Lego would have adapted Eternals, Shang Chi and Spider-man 3 into sets with intent to release on those dates without adapting Doctor Strange 2 also and starting work on Thor 4. As a sidenote, realising now that Doctor Strange 2 was meant to be the 'middle' of the loosely connected multiverse trilogy... wonder how that will be tackled if Spider-man 3 is now the 'middle' instead. Accuracy to the top of Korg's head in Ragnarok seems to confirm it is him. Unless it's something akin to the stone monsters from Nexo Knights again, but we have no indication of any other theme which would use such a helmet/upper head piece.
  13. While sets are out of the question, specific characters were confirmed for the film incredibly early. I can see them holding off on the main characters or aspects that could change, but I don't see why they would'nt have started work on the moulds. Especially if the character were to be included in more than just the Thor 4 sets. Can you confirm if this is from the D2C or not? It seems you have a lot more information than us and the drip feeding, while originally appreciated, is leaving us with nothing and discussions ending when a new bit of information is dropped ><
  14. With no Superbowl trailer for Shang Chi, it is likely Disney is waiting on the potential success of Raya: and the Last Dragon which would determine if Black Widow gets released in cinema and on Disney+ OR delayed again potentially to Shang Chi's release date. The only alternative I can see would be if they are saving the Shang Chi trailer for Chinese New Years on February 12th OR after WandaVision has finished airing (March 5th) I'm still not dismissing the potential for Korg to have just been in production for Thor 4 and be a very early leak from that, which at one stage was going to release this year (November 5th 2021) with presumably associated sets in October. That said, at the moment Korg is still the only physical leak we have - so maybe the Avengers wave of sets is a potential anniversary wave that was at one stage planned for 2022 just releasing a bit earlier to fill the gap left by Doctor Strange 2 and Thor 2 migrating to 2022. I'm still doubting the D2C as being Thor Ragnarok related, though Korg did not really appear in Infinity War and while he featured in Endgame that's likely out of the range of adapting for a D2C set (Turnaround time for the MCU D2C's appears to be three years). The only potentially iconic scenes with Korg would be related to the Colosseum fight OR the Statesman/Bridge battle. If we do wind up with a D2C I'd prefer Asgard with brick built Surtur to the Statesman. I have hope that February 17th would be a potential reveal date for the D2C, similar to the Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition. I feel Lego will still advertise some new sets around the time NYTF was meant to have occured, after all, they still would like to show off new products and reveals. Hopefully we will have answer by then.
  15. If we do get a 10th anniversary wave at some point with Golden figures, similar to Ninjago or Harry Potter, what are people's expectations regarding sets? Personally I'd want them to return to films they never adapted: Iron Man 1/2, Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Thor: The Dark World being the main ones I think.
  16. Apologies, my mistake on that one. The theme was 1993, 1994 and 1998. Each of these is still arguably past what some refer to as 'Classic Space' which was referred to as "usually the earliest sci-fi space sets, from 1978 to the mid-80s". So Ice Planet still would not apply via that definition. I'm just demonstrating how what some view as 'Classic Space' is not 'Classic Space' to others.
  17. True, though at the same time the user I was responding to included several post 80's themes and some post 2000's themes as examples of their view of 'Classic space' such as 2002's Ice Planet or 2009's Space Police 3. The later of which focused a lot on smoothing and updating the builds rather than the classic style which is generally more pointed and blocky. Some fans seem to want a complete return to the original asthetic Some want an updated version of the sets maintaining a similar colour scheme even if it means abandoning the asthetic Some want a combination of the two to varying extents Etc... I don't think it would be as simple as 'release an updated set' to appeal to 'Classic Space' fans - and I'm sure some Space fans exist who buy only the IRL inspired sets or other variations.
  18. If I release a trans yellow, black spaceship 'Ideas' set it has potential to fall under 'Classic Space', while it would also fall under the general theme of 'Space', It would likely fall under 'Blacktron' rather than 'Exploreins' due to brand identity. 'Space' is a theme, 'Classic Space' is a subtheme, 'Ideas' is a brand title, but it can also fall under the specific 'Brand' of Blacktron due to its nature. Each of those would then be a brand. Blacktron, M-Tron, Exploriens are a brand, 'Classic Space' would be the subtheme with 'Space' being the main theme Dragon Knights, Nexo Knights are brands, 'Castle' would be a theme Bionicle & Hero Factory are brands, 'Constraction' or 'Buildable action figures' would be the theme You do get some overlap in cases such as Knights Kingdom which had a 'Constraction' or 'Buildable figure' theme while also falling under the main theme of 'Castle' - but you would'nt call them 'Bionicle'. People who want 'Space' sets don't necessarily want 'Classic Space' and people who want 'Classic Space' would probably prefer one of these brands over the others. I also doubt 'Space Police 3' would count if you are going under the mindset of 'Classic Space' unless we are straying away from the core concept a little, I can see some fans hoping for something more akin to 'Benny's Spaceship'. Though at the end of the day that is personal preference and neither you or myself have any idea how the 90th set will be structured or in what form it would take even if the theme or brand we support would get adapted. Your rudeness was solely because you took my hypothesis as an insult to your brand loyalty? That was solely a tangent I went on to explain that Lego might be trying to appeal to everyone by having a rough Lego Ideas set and then milking the profits with a somewhat associated $100 set release, it was not meant to dismiss them. It was unrelated to the 90th anniversary poll beyond the potential for 2022 to already have Classic Space themed sets planned, but that does not exclude the 90th set. My point about the Globe was that due to its nature of depicting a model of the Earth, it would potentially be advertised to Space fans. That was it. That was my remark solely to fit into a hypothesis of Lego secretly celebrating some Classic themes by having a somewhat associated Ideas set releasing with an actual $100 remake of one of the Classic sets.
  19. People seem really dismissive of Bionicle, but that's ignoring the fact Lego put Bionicle in the poll and obviously had clear understanding that anything on the poll could be possible to be made into an anniversary set. We have no idea what form that will take, but it's definitely something Lego has considered. I don't think any of these remarks really makes sense, why would Lego add Bionicle if they had no option of producing a set for it? It feels like a lot of 'fans' making excuses as to why it would not be chosen, despite Lego themselves clearly considering that it could be. I understand why that has occured due to Lego cancelling Bionicle early twice, but have some faith xD Chances are they already have a rough idea of what to make for any of the options, especially given the turnaround time is a year. It would make the most sense for Lego to use the 1st poll's winner, especially given it is many votes ahead, which was public and as such people are not going to dismiss its results like they will with the second poll. The only reason they have the option to pick any of the top 3 was likely due to a potential for the votes to be incredibly close - but they were not even close. I also think it'd be unlikely of Lego to dismiss 6,586 unique voters who only wanted Bionicle. This number dwarfs the unique voters who only wanted Castle, Space and Pirates combined - it is our best example of unique voters without any risk of overlap with other themes: 6,586 users voted for Bionicle only 2,557 users have voted for Castle themes or subthemes only 2,457 users have voted exclusively for Space themes or subthemes only 311 users have voted exclusively for Pirate themes or subthemes only Lego won't simply ignore this, doing so would risk alienating a lot of voters. The information is also still available, so I'm sure someone with more time would be able to break up the votes to find exactly what people voted for to determine how they might vote in the second poll. Chances are those who voted for Bionicle and another theme, unless the other theme was Castle, Space or Pirates, would stick to Bionicle. Which is why, if my hypothesis is correct, that Lego will associate the ideas set with Space and release an accompanying $100 Classic inspired set. Similar to how 2020 got a classic inspired Pirate set and how 2021 is rumored to have a classic inspired Medieval Castle set. We simply do not know what form the 90th anniversary set will take, so I feel fans might still be disappointed even if they win.
  20. The Chamber Of Secrets and the return of the Basilisk? YES!!! As long as its as good as the old set or better, then I'm definitely getting that one. No interest in anything else in the set though.
  21. Superbowl on the 7th, hopefully we get some trailers/teasers to talk about. She did have a set in 2017, maybe it was a licensing thing as we know now that Marvel is planning a 2021 series about the character, potentially this conflicts with the game? Maybe her design did not vary enough to warrant a new figure or a re-release of the old?
  22. If a Medieval Blacksmith can fit under the Castle theme then a Globe can fit under geographical or Space theme. An aquatic robot such as you suggested would not apply to Bionicle and made no attempt to advertise itself as such, while a Globe is inherently about exploring and has been used in Space travel, established by a Greek Astronomer with the largest globe in the world is housed in DeLorme focusing on geostational Satellite mapping technology, etc... I'm just saying it is possible Lego will attribute it to Space and release a $100 Space set to continue the trend that they have in 2020 and 2021. As for everything else shall let mods sort it. Where in Star Wars do you see a Star Wars ship with a black base labelled "Imperial Star Destroyer"? As far as I can tell your response is that because it has a display/base stand it cannot possible be released under Space? Probably to attempt to job memories? As they describe it: "We've even added some pretty pictures so you know what you're voting for!" though chances are anyone voting would go for a theme they remember rather than needing a memory jog. Hence why it was likely a rushed situation of selecting the first result or perhaps a specific set that is pre-chosen by Lego to represent the theme. The situation is that you visit the 'Fan Poll' page and you can immediately click head over to the Activity page and cast your vote without seeing any of the pictures or the options. Once at the activity page you have no pictures and then you get into the vote, you have no pictures. So the pictures are only included on a single page that most people won't bother to skim through given the poll only allowed you to select from the specific themes anyway and most people naturally would think the final poll would list all the themes you could choose. Bionicle is a brand name, title and characters - it was never applied to Mixels. The general nature of constraction themes does not mean every constraction theme is a Bionicle. The 2020 Barracuda and 2021 Medieval Blacksmith are remakes/heavily inspired by classic sets. Mixels was never that. It's unlikely Lego would be able to satisfy everyone, but I don't see why people are clambering after another adult focused Pirates or Castle set when we have had those in 2020 and 2021: The 2020 Barracuda is a remake/heavily inspired by the Black Seas Barracuda The 2021 Medieval Blacksmith is a remake/heavily inspired by the Blacksmith Shop In regards to the expected 2022 Earth Globe our currently only other globe representation has been in Star Wars with the 'Planets' series. While a globe predates Space travel, the only associated themes would be along the lines of exploration or Space. Lego seems to be making a Lego Ideas set and then a $100 associated set in a similar theme. I can see this as an opportunity to focus on Space. It's also possible that Lego vary from the original design and turn it into a depiction of the solar system. The original moulds are almost all gone, save for some pieces that were used in the technic theme. The CCBS system is also believed to be gone. It's as such not possibly for Lego to really rely on constraction - which makes it fairly unique. Lego has only dabbled with system Bionicle sets during 2005 to 2007. As such, Lego either would have to use a new constraction system, if they have one currently OR they would be reliant upon system which featured for only a short segment of Bionicle G1. It's been done before admittedly, but the uniqueness comes from the unlikeliness of them being able to actually create similar moulds for a constraction style Bionicle that more accurately represents the theme, so if Bionicle is chosen, they would likely need to approach it from a new direction. Every other theme can pretty much be remade fairly easily by Lego as they stuck to the standard Lego system, but Bionicle has aspects that are specifically lost to time.
  23. Yes, it's a Lego Ideas set that could work in the theme of Space and it will likely be adapted into a set in early 2022. Castle has sets this year.
  24. Could see them doing something with the Outrider piece to replicate that, though would probably require making Lego arms that could clip on...
  25. It's pretty much just the first image you get when you search them, an image nobody will pay attention to. All I'm saying is that Lego has already appealed to each the other groups - so giving it Bionicle, not only because it was in 1st place, but also because it would provide something unique seems more likely. I'd rather not see them G3 unless they can secure it would be a long lasting theme and not cancelled abruptly like G2. I meant an ideas set for 2022... I feel the 'Earth Globe' counts as it will likely end up released in 2022. What better D2C to represent space than a depiction of the Earth, as if from Space :P
