Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Scarilian replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
@Flixter @SpiderJazz In general I feel his remarks was taken out of context and words were given specific emphasis without him doing so. To me the remark came across entirely as speculation, to the extent that I've seen others here voice effectively the same lines. Even in the scenario where he were to know that we were getting a NWH set in summer, which is the only thing one might try and take as factual from his remark, the reality is this information is relayed with a level of vagueness that one cannot claim with certainty that his remark has been legitimately hinting towards a set he knows about OR simply speculation from someone who is hoping to see a NWH set in Summer. His remarks as such cannot really be used as a 'for' or 'against'. If we do wind up with a NWH set in Summer, as such I'd hope that we don't wind up with either of you trying to lord it over the other Let's just be happy if we get the set, if not then let's hope we'll get it later or eventually when some designer from Lego winds up visiting these forums and realises that everyone has been discussing a potential NWH set for weeks or months on end Aquaman 2 finished filming January 12th and releases December 16th, 2022. Black Panther 2 is still filming and unlikely to finish filming until Late February and that was before the most recent talk of more delays which might push that into March... and it's scheduled to release November 11th, 2022. In my view if Black Panther 2 is still filming after February then expect it to get delayed, they need time for post-production and they clearly are desperate for Black Panther to be a franchise even after the passing of Chadwick Boseman. It makes more sense for Black Panther 2 to get delayed to February 2023, avoiding direct competition with Aquaman 2 and taking the release date of 'The Marvels'. This simultaniously allows them time to adapt 'The Marvels' to the reshoots occuring to Ms.Marvel and means they wont have to rush Black Panther 2. I dont have a vested interest in the film, but it will likely impact sets if the movie is delayed again Promobricks.de has listed the sets as releasing in October, specifically 01.10.2022 so they have already been delayed from the original intended release date which would have been around the film so say July/August. If the movie gets pushed back to February 2023 I could see them moving the sets back once again to January 2023. It primarily depends on how relevant the sets are, they probably don't want another Eternals situation where we see the Lego sets before anything official from the film and I'd personally expect Black Panther 2 to have broken the trend of them trying to market the film without showing big elements. -

Thanks, glad they can be of help I'll probably do another when we get the next bit of information about sets. Think my last one is a bit muddled/outdated with the Hulkbuster D2C number debacle. I would not be surprised if Lego were only provided with concept art for the characters, the mechs being counted because they are the iconic aspect of that character. In which case they may not have been provided concept art of the locations in use during the episode. The same could be the case for a Season 2, in which case only characters and things directly associated with the character would be shown to Lego. That's just speculation on my part though. In response to Season 1 they remarked the animation takes them about a year, so we won't see it until August 2022 at the earliest and arguably they may shuffle release dates a little due to movie release dates and delays to Disney+ shows. -

I'm not saying everything is to blame on Disney... but in this scenario they are the primary factor behind the choices that are more likely to impact Lego sets. Disney handles trailers, marketing and merchandise for NWH. I meant in the sense of them bringing back fan favourite characters that pre-dated working with Disney. If anything the movie seems to act as a course correct for MCU Spider-man, stripping him of every element that people disliked about him and leaving him in a similar position to the PS4 Spider-man that everyone praised. It's been revealed Disney had every intent to not include any of the villains in the marketting at all. It makes no sense for them to as such have provided concept art of the villains, or even the other Spider-men to companies to produce merchandise for. Revealing the heroes would have spoiled the concept and the heroes were kept even more secretive (in theory) than the villains were, so they would be even less likely. You can debate as to if that was to keep hype/secrecy in the same way as Endgame, but it's clearly left us in a similar situation in regards to Lego sets - especially if we wind up with a year (likely year and a half OR two year) delay from the release of the movie to potentially get accurate sets. Studios in an attempt to reduce costs altered marketting tactics and that is admittedly a reasoning behind a lot of the decisions regarding what people would consider spoilers. I feel Endgame's marketting was also a big factor in that, remember when we only had a basic trailer and concept art of some 'Quantum Realm Suits'. Remember how that impacted the Lego sets? It takes companies around a year or so to respond to that, so we are only now seeing that impact the marketting for films and it'll take a while longer for them to see how that corresponds with any changes in sales of merchandise. Studios have also focused on 'subverting' in recent years and this has now extended to trailers where a trailer will intentionally mislead you about a movie in order to generate more buzz when the movie winds up being different - and in the process you can appeal to a different group of interests via the trailer. Sadly Doctor Strange 2 will be the same. Studios also do contribute to leak culture, the entire running gag with Tom Holland, Mark Ruffalo and other actors has been that they spoil aspects of the movie 'intentionally' or 'unintentionally' and this is all intended. 'Accidental leaks' also occur, planned by the studios and framed to seem like they are unintentional in order to distract or generate buzz. --- Personally, I'm of the viewpoint that merchandise should release slightly before and alongside the thing it is trying to advertise. You can revisit or re-do that merchandise later down the line if the thing you are promoting is memorable/profitable enough and the original merchandise sells well, but in the case of Lego especially, it thrives by having the movie tie-in sets actually release near the movie. The merchandise they intend to sell is tied to the media and the most obvious time to try and sell the merchandise is in the hype phase before the media is released or alongside the media's release as the hype is peaking. In a year I'll probably still want a NWH final battle featuring the three Spider-men and the five villains, but chances are by then I won't be as caught up in the hype and I'll have likely found alternatives to substitute. If my hype remains I'll have moc'd a Final Battle, made diorama's, replicated key moments, brought knocks off, brought custom figures, created custom figures with existing pieces and generally done almost everything to express my interest. I also think it raises expectations as if we're going to have to wait till 2023 for a set, it better deliver given the wait. If it releases in Summer 2022 instead we can dismiss some issues as early concept art or perhaps something changed during the final battle, people would still be critical obviously but it's more easy for people to claim it is just due to concept art or something. Perhaps they only saw concept art for Lizard, Electro and Sandman Vs the Spider-man Trio so the final battle Lego set would be a 3v3 instead of a 3v5. Aspects like that are more easily justified if it's releasing nearer to the film. -

ftfy. Disney owns and profits from the merchandising rights, the lack of merchandising lies on Disney who probably did not want to advertise NWH through merchandise because it is fairly disconnected from the rest of the MCU and it's a celebration of all the amazing things Sony has done with the characters without Disney. They also wanted to originally advertise the film as Spider-man Vs Doctor Strange, likely to sort of continue generating discussion of Doctor Strange 2, which would have probably still been playing in cinemas at the time. Considering that the original schedule was Doctor Strange 2 on May 7th followed by Spider-man NWH on July 16th. It also speaks volumes to why the only NWH set we have that is directly based on the movie is the Sanctum Basement and has Doctor Strange and Wong included Funko Pops has seemingly got a second wave featuring Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Green Goblin, Lizard and Electro along with the three Spider-men. High-Res concept art of the villains appeared online in December, however we know earlier concept art existed. In general Sandman, Lizard and Doc Ock should be fairly accurate regardless of where they took the concept art from. Electro likely went through a lot of design changes and Green Goblin's damaged final battle suit while mostly identical had some changes to the strap and weaponry when comparing the two pieces of concept art we have, the earlier concept art is also more accurate to the final design and practical suit Ideally any NWH set would need to be released by August (60th anniversary of Spider-man) for the most potential sales, granted it would get high sales regardless, but if you release a nostalgia filled set featuring three Spider-man and five legacy villains from popular films at the height of nostalgia then you'll maximise that. -

The only non-spoilery characters you can do in theory are Doctor Strange, Wong, America Chavez, Scarlet Witch and Gargantos. They've already shown hints of other characters in the film via other companies toyline so I would not be too surprised if we get another Doctor Strange 2 set later this year given they have clearly provided concept art of certain characters to other companies so we could be in for a Lego Civil War Spider-man style additional set. -

In my view we are dealing with a minimum of 11 figures they need for Black Panther 2: 1. Shuri (Normal) 2. Shuri (Black Panther outfit) 3. Nakia 4. Okoye 5. M'Baku 6. Everett Ross 7. Ayo 8. Aneka Plus spoilery characters (Mentioned below) and you can even have a set be a legacy set featuring Black Panther While the legacy theme does leave it open for them to revisit films at a later date, I feel leaving it too late will work out poorly. The villains and the heroes will still be popular enough to warrant it, but the focus of fans might have shifted to hype for potential future appearances by then. I've ordered versions of the figures just to be sure I have a way to represent them before the anniversary as I hope to have a small display set-up for them, but we'll have to see how that goes. Even at a basic level I would hope we'd get the following by August: Comic accurate Electro with Star Helmet - Electro's involvement in NWH was announced in October 2020. Lego develops sets/figures based on what they expect to be in people's minds at the time of release so I'd hope for us to finally to get Electro by August, even if it is the comic version. This would be the last figure needed for a comic accurate Sinister Six, completing that for the 60th anniversary would be nice. Spider-man Bust - With us already having a Bust of Venom & Carnage the lack of an iconic Spider-man Bust is baffling. NWH Doc Ock figure - Doc Ock was the primary villain reveal in advertising. Putting him in a polybag would probably be easiest and could be attached to purchases over a certain amount on Spider-man Lego, throwing in the Iron Spider suit if needed. Though I really hope the 20th anniversary of the Lego Spider-man sets and the 60th anniversary of Spider-man would give us more Spider-man related content than just that, let alone being the 10th anniversary of Avengers (2012) and how that should hopefully mean more legacy sets. Always been a fan of mechs and the intelligence/tech-based heroes, so my most hyped is probably the IW Hulkbuster though it has a high chance of being underwhelming as I think the design is tricky to adapt and it's not a design I particularly like and it's also probably going to include Bruce Banner rather than a variant Tony Stark or Iron Man suit... but should be good for using to make the original design. The $500 set intrigues me, but I need it to be MCU Avengers Tower or perhaps a re-done MCU Shield Helicarrier for me to commit to that - mostly due to display space Comic won't necessarily convince me unless the design is awesome. -

Lots of edits to this, so bare with me :P Stonewars has now removed both 76215 and 76210 (This must have occured in the two hours after my post... :L) Promobricks is now listing 76215 but only with a general 2022 release, no listing for 76210 but keeps 76209 which we've had reports is DC apparently. I have found another site from November listing Hulkbuster as 76210. In general the IW Hulkbuster seems to be double the price and double the pieces, so it would align with 76218 based off piece and price. Even the potential May release (August for retailers) would make sense given when we first learned of it. 76215 and 76210 seem to be a mystery, I'd expect one of these to be the $500 set (Probably 76215) Either way we'll be left with a mystery set as we only know of the IW Hulkbuster and the $500 D2C and we have three numbers in circulation being used which are 76218, 76215 and 76210. We have'nt got word on a lot of stuff, remember the Legacy line for Avengers we were unaware of until it leaked via a catalogue. I feel June/July will have more sets, whether they be comic or movie inspired and it's a matter of wait and see. -

Stonewars.de - link is here. It also was where we got confirmation of the 500€ set being 76210. Stonewars.de has been the source for some information in the past, admittedly they have also got numbers incorrect once or twice though in the case of things like the Sanctuary II Avengers Endgame Legacy set, however all sites and reports seemed to get that one incorrect Originally it was reported on Instagram, without a source, as being 76210 until we got clarification from Stonewars.de, which is why my earliest comment on the subject refers to it as 76210 :p If you are trying to imply that The Hulkbuster is instead 76218 ($210, 2708 pcs) - it's possible as this would match up with the remarks that it was effectively nearly double the price for double the pieces. In which case it's just a situation of Stonewars.de providing an incorrect number, though I value Stonewars.de higher than Promobricks.de who labelled and continue to label 76209 a Marvel set which has now been remarked on as being DC... At this time the D2C IW Hulkbuster and the unknown 500€ D2C are the only one's I'm fairly certain we'll wind up getting due to multiple sources and prices. None of the others have currently being tied to specific sets or piece counts - they can still happen, but the NWH/Raimi stuff is just what everyone wants to happen so rumours regarding it are bound to happen. Mjolnir kinda came out of left field, but it's nature as a potential display piece like the busts in my view is what keeps it possible. As a sidenote, is anyone else surprised we have not got a Spider-man bust yet, especially considering we have Venom & Carnage? -

Not really sure, what else could it be? With the 250€ IW Hulkbuster and the unknown 500€ set presumably being the most iconic thing possible Avenger/Stark Tower, I'm not sure what else they can adapt. The only other rumour we have had is Thor's Hammer, to which a May release (Refer to Falcon's remark) would make sense as the film was at one stage scheduled for May 6th 2022, but even then the piece count seems too high even if they made it life-size as we've seen that done for less than 2,000 pieces. Part of me is considering if it's just going to wind up being another of the 'art' theme, but even then the price would be too high for the part count. The price-to-piece ratio, $210 for 2708 pieces, is throwing me off a bit also and retailers getting the set in August makes me lean more towards Spider-man as that would be perfectly timed for the 60th anniversary. So we'd get 76215 IW Hulkbuster (250€) presumably in March as it was the first we heard details about, then whatever 76218 ($210) is in May but then we have 76210 (500€) presumably following closely behind that sometime between June and August. Would Lego really release so many high price Marvel D2C's so close together? Feels like a bit much. It'll be nice and all I'm sure, but I can hear the wallets screaming now if these wind up being awesome sets. -

Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

So we now have three big budget sets? 76210: ? (500€) - June? 76215: IW Hulkbuster (250€) - March? 76218: ? ($210, 2708 pcs) - August I really hope 76210 is Avengers/Stark Tower and 76218 is NWH Final Battle. I think it'll be foolish of Lego not to capitalise on the 60th anniversary in some form, even if that form is only a few more comic inspired Spider-man sets. I think we'll need to wait for a while to get a sense of IF Lego have any intention to give us more movie focused Spider-man sets, but similarly I think it'd be too much of a missed opportunity not to give us something else movie related, especially seeing as we are still getting polybags inspired by NWH. I'm also still expecting another MCU legacy wave this year, but in general it looks like we'll have to wait for more reveals later on. Updated summary so far, spoiler tagged for space :P -

We probably won't even get the Wakanda Forever sets this year, as the film seems very likely to be delayed for extensive reshoots. So expect a similar situation to how the Eternals sets were handled... Also 2323 posts, nice True... but 60th anniversary and it's easily the most profitable Phase 4 film. Would make more sense for them to do another big Spider-man set for August. Personally more hyped for Sonic 2, I think it'll benefit from being the last film most families saw prior to the whole IRL situation and they'll view Sonic 2 as a return to life before and it looks like pure goofy fun, nostalgia and escapism. I'd also be very surprised if Black Panther 2 releases in 2022, either way it is a film I am not going to watch as no interest in it post Boseman. At least we have knock-offs to tide us over on figures when Lego fails to deliver on stuff people want :p -

The 500€ set is 76210 and probably a movie or comic inspired Avengers/Stark Tower The 250€ set is 76215 and is the IW Hulkbuster. Unsure what 76218 (2708 pcs) is meant to be then if it is indeed Marvel, a Spider-man NWH Final Battle set would make perfect sense especially given the August release. -

As others have now mentioned, numbering would not make sense. Personally my mind is leaning to a set like this, two minifigures, small build. If it's Raimi inspired it could just be OG Costume Goblin VS Spider-man. The only being build being the Glider Apparently Falcon clarified it was a 4+ set also, so a set similar to Spider-man's Techno Trike could also work. Added them now :) May just wind up ordering the knock-off figures then, the Doc Ock and Goblin Figures they have done are pretty awesome I still feel it's a really lame situation if we don't at minimum get a NWH Final Battle set. -

TY @THELEGOBATMAN have compiled the sets into a list. Summary so far: APRIL 1st: 76202: Wolverine Mech Armor 76203: Iron Man Mech Armor 76204: Black Panther Mech Armor 76219 (Ant-Man $19.99 / 20€ 298 pieces) APRIL 26th: 76207 (Love and Thunder; 20€, 159 pcs) 76208 (Love and Thunder; 50€, 564 pcs) JUNE 1st: 76216 (496 pcs) - could be DC or Marvel 76217 (476 pcs) - could be DC or Marvel AUGUST 1st: 76218 (2708 pcs) - could be DC or Marvel 76220 4+ (43 pcs) - could be DC or Marvel 76221 (456 pcs) - could be DC or Marvel SEPTEMBER 1st: 76225 - could be DC or Marvel 76226 - could be DC or Marvel 76231 (268 pcs) - could be DC or Marvel OCTOBER 1st: 76211 (Wakanda Forever; 50€, 355 pcs) 76212 (Wakanda Forever; 10€, 58 pcs) 76213 (Wakanda Forever; 30€, 355 pcs) 76214 (Wakanda Forever; 80€) UNKNOWN RELEASE DATES: 76215 (Hulkbuster D2C; 250€) - Possible March release like prior 76105 or 76042 ?: The Infinity Saga Accessory Set (15€) 30443: Spider-man Bridge Battle Polybag 76210 (500€ D2C) Marvel Thor's Hammer Notes/Edits: 76209 (120€) was revealed as DC :( -------------- If I had to guess, August is the 60th anniversary of Spider-man. 76218 could be the NWH big set, 76220 and 76221 could be the Raimi sets. So we'd have the 250€ IW Hulkbuster in March, the 500€ D2C in June and a big NWH set in August that's probably around 250€ to 300€. -

In somewhat related film news, as it has a high chance to impact potential Lego set releases and the slate for Phase 4 in 2022; In general what this means is that we may wind up with delays of the Black Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2, Ms.Marvel and Secret Invasion associated Lego things. Takes a while to approve another series, unless they had S2 planned from the start. It's also tricky as a lot of the shows are getting pushed back which could mean a similar situation to the 'What If Iron Man' set where we get a representation of a figure that does not show up in the associated media released that year. I did not see any rumour about what they were meant to be at the time, just the release date. I still feel it makes more sense to skip a lot of the Disney+ characters to adapt them at a later date when they are more relevant. In terms of a Disney+ line-up, most likely seems to be: Hawkeye (Printed arms, torso and legs, bow piece included along with holster) Kate Bishop (Printed arms, torso and legs, bow piece included along with holster) Echo (Printed Torso and Legs) Moon Knight (Full print, similar style to WVision, New Hood piece) Moon Knight Supporting Character (Leg and Torso print) She-Hulk (Torso and dual molded printed legs) Bruce Banner (Leg and Torso Print) Ms.Marvel (Either the Halloween costume with helmet, dual molded printed arms/legs OR the later outfit with torso and dual molded printed legs and a scarf) Red Dagger (Torso and leg print, red scarf and dual face print) Nick Fury (Torso and Leg print, bearded facial print without eye patch) Talos (Torso, Leg and Arm print, improved Skrull head piece that can be re-used for Captain Marvel 2 sets) Strange Supreme (Torso, Dual molded legs and arms, printed cloth cape and cloth waist piece) Notes: Echo is getting a spin-off eventually, but was introduced early enough to be give to Lego in concept art. I cannot see Lego missing this as her character was deaf. Strange Supreme had relevance in the What If series and is in Doctor Strange 2, so makes sense to throw in here if he is not included in a later Doctor Strange 2 inspired set. Agatha is not relevant currently but is having a series in 2023/2024 so makes more sense to include her later in a potential CMF3 or CMF4 Ronin is the most obvious in need of a figure, but we have not seen the Infinity War Accessory pack so he might be included in that. -

Makes more sense to be a celebration of 10th anniversary of Lego MCU sets, 10th anniversary of the first Avengers film and 60th anniversary of Spider-man and other characters which would be more guaranteed to sell and could be a way of including a variety of characters as opposed to specific characters from the Disney+ shows who are already showing up elsewhere or scheduled to show up elsewhere. With Wolverine in a comic-inspired set I would not be surprised if we get other X-Men in comic form this year also. I would not be surprised if it winds up something like this: Originally I was thinking they would simply remake or re-do the previous Raimi sets, but now that I think about it, it makes more sense to encourage people to 'collect all three' for the final battle experience. It'd also make it easier to market the smaller sets as 'Spider-man Vs Green Goblin' or 'Spider-man Vs Lizard' and just have it be Tobey and Andrew respectively without the hassle of different names. To those unfamiliar with the prior films they could claim it is 'inspired by NWH'. -

Raimi Spider-man will most likely be Summer (June at the earliest, could be in August though) they are unlikely to release before any potential NWH set and the anniversary of Spider-man is August 1st so makes sense to be a 2HY set/sets UCS IW Hulkbuster would be March at the earliest, like 76105 & 76042. We had info on it early which lends credibility to the idea of it releasing in 1HY. Any potential Marvel CMF Series 2 would be September/October, personally would make more sense for this to not be Disney+ inspired and instead be a legacy wave of comic-inspired characters or revisiting MCU characters as part of anniversary stuff Most of the Disney+ shows don't give the characters the full costume until the finale and it's that costume which people tend to want as a figure. Villains are also generally obscured until much later. It tends to make developing sets tricky as locations and specific aspects they would usually base a set around are less likely to appear. It'd make more sense for us to get minifigure packs or for Lego to wait until the release of the Disney+ series and release a set after the show has aired - but admittedly this loses the hype train. Seems a little bit of confusion, so let me clarify based on how it seems: Eurobricks brickleaky is claiming the Raimi sets are happening and that they believe the person selling prelims is actually real. It is important to note that this may not be the same Brickleaky. I would still not personally advise anyone to pay for potentially preliminary images of a set due to potential for this to be a scam by the person claiming to have prelims... Turnoffthedark is referring to Fulcrum speculating about what Raimi sets could be adapted I believe a miscommunication may have occured here as Fulcrum's remarks were public and speculation. Fulcrum has not seen the sets and told Falcon this -

I'm still expecting it's going to wind up being a mixture of anniversary and legacy sets, something like the following: $500 Avengers Tower CMF Series featuring varying Marvel characters Raimi inspired sets featuring Ock and Goblin as a tie-in to NWH Spider-man comic inspired sets for the 60th anniversary (Electro included so we can finally complete the OG comic Sinister Six) Legacy wave probably adapting from films they never made sets for such as Thor, Thor 2, Iron Man 2, etc... All of this accompanied with regular releases that are tied to the movies such as a NWH set based on the Statue of Liberty and probably a Disney+ set based on Secret Invasion or She-Hulk Spider-Man, Thor, Hulk, Ant-Man, and Doctor Doom all celebrate their 60th anniversary in 2022, among others, so it'd make sense to revisit some of those and give others more focus. That Ant-Man mech and the Thor's Hammer rumours starting to make more sense now? So, take with salt for the moment? -

If that happens, will probably be under the legacy set line or a bunch of comic inspired sets. Probably in Summer 2022. Going to be honest, not a fan of Thor's design Yeah, they may have to do big reshoots. Actress who played Shuri has not returned to set and she was meant to today. Personally I expect the whole movie to get pushed back to February or May 2023. -

I feel like including the new connection pieces from 80033 in the Hulkbuster Ultron Edition would be a good upgrade for anyone considering modifying that set. I feel like the IW Hulkbuster we are going to get this year is going to use that piece also. Seems like it could be useful for mechs for arm/leg rotation and stability. Generally we've been told that if we are getting NWH sets they would be in Summer 2022 at the earliest. People just hoped it'd be the 120€ set in March because it was a mystery set labelled as Marvel.
