I got the Parisian Restaurant from the store today. And have stayed up too late to start building it Staff said there won't be a lot of stuff on sale for Black Friday, mainly movie line items. So I might be safe until the end of the year unless I do spot some discounts (famous last words). Steckley, the cinema was my first modular too. Got it a month ago? Now I have 3! I don't know whether to be disappointed or relieved that the others I want are retired and too expensive secondhand.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I wonder if it's still out for viewing after the VIP event... Edit: called the local store and staff said the DO is only in Europe -
I was just in the store (in Surrey) and asked about this...they said there would be promos but weren't sure what beyond the second holiday set. The staff seemed to think that double points won't happen again until next spring :(

I haven't gotten the PR yet, but the PS was disappointing with the sparse interiors so I'm looking forward to having "finished" insides. -
The front portal has great details!

There's some great details (that we can see so far) - I like the windows (stickers or not, doesn't bug me), the water tower on the roof, pool sign, etc. I liked the scissors on the friends set so it's interesting to see a different version. If it's too busy, I might cut down on some of the street level activity. This might be one of the few sets I consider getting 2 of, if my wallet can handle it. On another note, do many people switch the classic faces with modern ones? -

10 more days until possible pictures? Colour can nice depending on the design, as long as it isn't too bright or kiddie. -
Okay, I'll stop worrying about duty. It wouldn't make much financial sense to shop at the cdn s@h if we did get charged even more. Emailed one of the local stores and was told they might be getting some research institutes in Tuesday's shipment.

Sorry if this has been asked before, I did try searching the thread and didn't spot this... Has anyone ordered from Lego online? I assumed it was shipping from Canada as I was on the Cdn side but my set shipped from the US with FedEX. Will I be charged duty? (I was already a bit miffed since I live close to Vancouver and like to ship things to the US but Lego.com didn't like a Cdn billing address and an American shipping address so it cancelled my less expensive order.) I wanted to get double points before the end of the month and the store said the set I wanted might not be back in stock for a few weeks.

A few days I tried ordering off the US website and it canceled my order. I live in Canada near the border so can easily have things shipped to a border town, but a lot of companies don't like a billing address outside of the US.

Would it be safe to say that a set would be available for at least 2 years? If PR came out this year, I would expect to be able to find one next year without any trouble... -

Advice needed: I ordered the PS online from Cdn Lego shop and it said Nov 13th as an expected shipping date. However, I got an email saying it is currently out of stock and it will be a little longer before it will be shipped. Do I need to worry that they won't be able to fill the order? It looks like Target.com has the PS and I could also try the 2nd local store (first one said to call back in a few weeks to see if they got any more). -
I got my Rocket minifig - had my boyfriend who works nights get it after his shift on Friday since the store expected them to be gone by that night. Store 2 was soldout the next morning but store 3 still had some. The one place I asked about the mini modular said they were gone the first day.

I'm in one of the Vancouver suburbs. I'll have to check out the Cdn thread, I need a place to vent about prices! :P

Right now I'm keeping the sets together but I'm hoping to work my way up to doing MOCs.

Hello, I've made a few posts so I suppose I should get around to introducing myself. At the beginning of the month I went on a roadtrip to Seattle with my sister and went to the Lego store at Bellevue. I've been looking for the Hobbit house (an unexpected gathering) causally on and off and guess what, they had one in the back! So I took that as a sign, got it, and that started a more serious collection. Back home (near Vancouver), I live between 2 Lego stores so I went to both to find a Palace Cinema. Next, I'll try to add a Pet Shop and Parisian Restaurant to my street. I don't have a ton of space in my little apartment so I'll try to keep my collection limited. This past weekend I did manage to snag a Rocket Raccoon polybag at Toys R Us as well. Due to space limitations I might return the Iron Man Malibu Mansion, although it's so cute. I had resisted buying Lego since I already collect comics and belong to a miniature club - my sister complains that there are comics and dollhouses all over the apartment. In my defense, I'm working in quarter scale, not just 1:12. I've travelled to Seattle for miniature shows and comicon, next it could be brickcon Before this month my Lego collection had been a few minifigs (Harry Potter and Star Wars) and a small HP set. Sadly, I missed out on the bigger HP sets. My coworker has a lot of them so I daydream that she'll sell them to me one day at a decent price. I'm hoping some of the Lego Ideas mini Hogwarts will eventually get approved or more sets will come out with the new movies. I've started to play around in LDD but have yet to actually order bricks and build something.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I'm hoping to get the PS and PR...is it reasonable to think there will be one or the other in stock for any November promotions? I got the cinema earlier this month and am now unsure if it would be better to get the PS before the end of the week. Any advice? -

Is anyone getting the mini modulars from Toys r Us this month? -
Monster Fighters are 20% off at Toys R US Canada, including the castle.
