Librarian at a large public library but I've been behind the scenes and not doing public service for a few years now. About 2 weeks ago I was discussing the Lego Neighborhood book with a coworker - she said she'd buy some copies but passed on the steampunk Lego book. Now that I think of it, I have no idea what they did with the minifigures in some of the books we've bought.

Confidential 2015 GWP and Main Set List

Did someone say fall sometime? We need another Haunted house! -
Saw some 2015 sets at TRU... creator toy and grocery shop, city Swamp sets, and I got the friends bunny hutch. Target had a bit of clearance including the friends advent calendar.

Confidential 2015 GWP and Main Set List

There's still more themes and items coming anyways - approved Lego Ideas, Elves, Scooby (or ?) Wondering how much the Ferris Wheel will be, getting excited! -
TRU is having a sale on DC Lego sets but not the one I want! I called one of the stores and they actually have a few Arkham sets but those aren't on sale...why is it more than most modulars? 30% off select sets of Chima, SW, and DC

Stopped by TRU late Sat and they had 20% off a few themes (City, SW, Friends, etc.) but nothing I wanted, of course. The Friends section was very empty It was so sad I took a picture (but am not sure how to upload it). Spotted an old Hobbit Goblin King Battle but it was still full price. Strangely, they had a bunch of Monster Fighter werewolf sets too and one mummy. Turns out there was also a sale at London Drugs for 20% but it looked like all the stock I was interested in was out in the burbs. Sunday I braved the mall to hit the Lego store and double points. They had sold the last 3 sets of the LOTR Tower of Orthanc before I got there so I ended up getting Santa's workshop. Anyone know what boxing sales there might be?

Just browsing the Lego S@H and noticed that the Winter Market Village now says sold out. I called one of my local stores and was told they have a few and was asked if I could make it in tonight. Ugh, I've been humming and hawing over getting seasonal sets and does this mean it's EOL?

Got an email this morning about double points on the 21st. I think I saw something about some people getting an email earlier about double points in Jan...so with all the promos (gifts with purchase) in Jan are people planning on waiting to buy things in a few weeks?

Now knowing the range of sets for LOTR and the Hobbit, what sets are the best ones? (Is this the right thread to ask in?) As usual, I'm late to the game and only have An Unexpected Gathering, plus the Council of Elrond and Helm's Deep on their way to me. Is Orthanc a must have? A bunch of the sets appeal to me but I can't afford everything.

This review has made me reconsider getting this, although I still wish the Cdn price was closer to the US. It is also a set I would consider getting non-Lego fans as a gift (both my Dad and co-worker come to mind as bird lovers). I do wish the hummingbird has some more color or metallics. Can't wait to learn some SNOT techniques.

Fairground mixer vs. winter village. It's driving me a bit batty - missing out on some great sets and now they are so pricey. Really wish I had been into Lego when the large carousel came out. I'm distracted by the truck parts of the fairground but is the carousel in the winter village a poor man's version of the larger carousel 10196?

I'd really like to get some Guardians of the Galaxy minifigs. I already have Rocket from the TRU promo but should I buy the milano and knowhere sets to get the minifigs or buy the figs separately? I'm not terribly keen on the vehicles, although the pod/blaster isn't bad. Any guesses if these sets will ever go on sale and I should wait? I'm in Canada so our sales are generally lousy.

Oh, but it is: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/13184

Any tips on where to look?

Sea cow, it's so fun and one of the few movie sets I would consider buying. But I'm not that keen on vehicles. Debating getting some of the older Harry Potter sets. However, I don't have a ton of room and started out of my dark ages with a focus on modulars. But I really like HP. Was thinking of the Burrow and/or Diagon Alley. Right now I think the Graveyard Duel and castle sets are a bit too pricey for me. Or should I just get a few minifigs? Advice?

My bed. Trouble is, I often open bags then have to stay up late finishing a build. I'd use the dining room table if it wasn't covered with my sister's stuff (the kitchen table is too small). Obviously, we need to clean our apartment

Shouldn't they make an official announcement soon, depending on when they get released next year? I really want a haunted house!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Is there a cheatsheet on how to do this? I've managed to upload the parts to a wanted list. Then go to my wanted list by shop, sort by lots or items? Then I get confused - how do you autofill for the parts you need, or do you need to manually enter numbers? Sorry for the newbie questions. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I bought the PR last Thursday night online once double points were up, then called the store the next morning to see if they had stock. Yes, so I drove to the store and bought another one so I could build it that afternoon. I had a vague idea that I could set it aside for Christmas but knew I wasn't going to be able to wait. Now it's on my shelf and I'll have to return the other one when it gets here. For people who were in our dark ages when modulars first came out, you guys with your unopened boxes are killing us. Unless I really love something I don't want to pay so much over retail to get them and I haven't even brinklinked a microbuild so recreating a modular is completely out of the question right now. -
I love all the details. Does anyone have ideas on what color could replace the sand green if I was trying to make a smaller version and am having trouble finding sand green bricks on bricklink?
-
It's $60 in Canada! Plus, there's 12% taxes. If it was $45 I would have contacted the store right away.

Does anyone know if the Walmart sale is in Canada too or if it's only the US? Thanks

I like Nanoblocks. I bought a Neuschwannstein Castle for my boyfriend and have a Big Ben at home. Only wish I could get my hands on a Hogwarts that was available in Japan (for a decent price).

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I like the Chinese look of the cinema. It could use more seating and I'm not a fan of big vehicles either. However, if I had the money and space I'd try to mock more buildings with an old Chinatown feeling. It'd be nice to have a range of high-end apartments and stores with some grimier buildings a block or two over.
