Finally the Tyridium! I'm waiting for a System scale redesign since 7144! Hopefully it will be a great design and not such a disappointment like the latest ATT or MTT.
-
Wow, thanks! Heli and car don't look too good, but the building and the dinos look pretty nice!

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Zzz replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Pictures from the German January catalogue: http://news.toyark.com/2014/12/15/lego-marvel-super-heroes-avengers-age-ultron-images-146341 (not able to deeplink or make screencaps and post them currently, sorry) One thing to note is that the Guardians are missing - and they were already marked with "limited quantity" in the last catalogue. -
The entire LotR / Hobbit theme seems to be ending with this wave and for a theme being so focused on large battles it's very strange we never got any battle pack. I'm not counting the 40€ sets because honestly that is rather expensive.
-
I don't know how many sets you usually get from a wave but 6 sets with one of them being a battle pack that you can easily get 4 of without being bored sounds pretty good to me. I guess there are some like me who just have the Snowspeeder and AT-AT on their wanted list so far..

These cars without doors - why is TLC making them? They look so odd. The trucks from 60081 and 60082 would be so nice with some real doors. The 60084 motorbike transport looks to be a great set, but the car is pretty blocky. I wonder why they didn't a bit more detail on that. Otherwise a decent set.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

Great find! I was hoping for this. (Would have prefered the Collector in a polybag but don't want to complain) It will be difficult to get in Europe I am afraid, but probably easier than the SDCC set. -
Exactly. It is an amazing design and this feature alone means it's worth getting, flick-fires and winches are just an add-on. And all this for probably 50-60€!
-
The rat wasn't a stand-in, it's the actual rat we get.. Oh.. well.. The stores in Germany put the new stuff on the shelves the first day after christmas usually.
-
No worries, my friend. The box clearly has the Rebels logo. You'll have enough money for your rent /UCS Slave I.
-
Also we got a very obscure X-wing and pilot (Red ten and Theron Nett) this year in the chibi line. So I also guess there is a high chance it's not Luke's.
-
With (probably) only one OT set for the January line-up, I guess that the missing exclusive set might just be an OT set, hopefully Dagobah. Last years exclusives in Germany were the Coruscant Police Dropship, Battle of Hoth and Y-wing.
-
I certainly would love to get that one but in the moment we have a LAAT/i on the shelf and as others assumed before, TLC might have a Jedi Starfighter for every year rule. It's possibly more a guideline than a rule, but they are running out of possible ones. After 2 Etas they want to have a Delta and since they made almost all of them, they are going EU now. So they can throw us an Anakin, which is probably the most loved E1-3 character for the kids.
-
I love the T-16, I believe there is one Tusken, one pilot and a new rat included, the price seems alright. For the Stormtrooper BP I believe it's going to be rebels (as it's the same model that Hasbro uses for Rebels). Somehow I even hope it is, as the money goes into Slave I in January. The Shadow Troopers look nice already, a good little addition without the urge to army build. The chibi sets look nice, expecially the Snowspeeder and the AT-AT, but I might also get the LAAT/i, as I have a soft spot for them. A huge surprise is Anakins custom Delta, it clearly has the huge engine intakes and the blue color of the old CW mini series. Great ship, nice to have it but seems expensive to me. The Rebels I don't need, though. Not a huge fan.
-
I don't really miss it but I understand very well how someone could. Especially the 2010 / 2011 sets were amazing and I seriously considered getting the Hogwarts sets, but there is only enough money and space for a couple of themes. What I seriously miss, though, is Indiana Jones and Exo Force.
-
Amazing. I know from a reliable source that Hasbro was planning to make Kreo sets and is still doing an action figure line, so this is such a surprise to me.

I sold almost all my 1999-2009 and CW sets, since those minifigs (yellow, first generation fleshies and weird CW faces) don't mix well with the current ones and also the sets don't look too good anymore in comparison. I didn't sell those 3 sets, though: - 4483 AT-AT (my first big set since my dark ages and it was way ahead of it's time) - 7110 Landspeeder (my first LSW set and very first set that ended my dark ages) - 8038 Battle of Endor (with the classic 10th anniversary box it's just a beauty and it has the quality of the post-2009 playsets like Jabba's Palace or the Cantina) I cannot say for sure that I will keep these forever, who knows what's about to come, but for now it seems that way.
-
Yes! Fantastic! Thanks a lot for sharing, Hulk_Smash, much appreciated. This and the Shadow troopers are must buys for me. I seriously wonder about the Geonosis BP, that seems really to be a CW set, is it a goodbye present to the line and the fans? Such a strange inclusion into the January lineup..
-
Incredible. I would like to know more about the design process, did you plan it in on the computer or on paper - and did you adjust the scale, did you make a lot of changes? Where did you start?
-
If the rumors are true, there won't be a special edition anymore in the future, as Disney is releasing the movies again next fall in it's original version, without the 90s scenes. So it might make sense to throw that now on the Cantina set, as in the future no one might remember that "thing" from Luke's garage no more, that's not flying around. Also, you are right about the playsets vs. vehicles. Lego has no huge love for playsets, they have proven to be difficult to create and sell. I guess the late Jabba's Palace and Mos Eisley Cantina are very well designed and somehow cash in, but in the earlier years playsets have proven not to sell easily (which is why 10123 Cloud City is so rare, cause no one bought it). Playsets / buildings sell better with older customers, hence we rarely see CW or E1-3 playsets, but a couple of OT ones. As an OT fan you are in the privileged position to get an Ewok Village or Death Star, with the fans of CW or PT not getting almost any playsets at all. So having said all this, I think there might be some slots in 2015 for exclusive / limited edition OT playsets, Bespin or Dagobah for example. Unleash... the lawyers.

When I see MOCs like this, I start laughing and shake my head. (I hope you get this is a positive reaction!)
-
I'm not saying that video reviews are bad, I frequently watch them and they are pretty watchable from some people, not too many, though. But they're never on par with a quality review from the RA here. Having said that, I think there should be a couple more picture reviews, especially from older sets. (I know it's a lot of time spent on a good review - and I'll look for a set that has no review and will do that one day, promise.)
-
The list seems very plausible. I'm not interested in the Rebels sets (personally dislike the art of it), and the rest is really not too much to work with. Chibi AT-AT is probably going to be cute, this is going to be a great addition to the Star Destroyer. Also the Chibi LAAT/i sounds nice. Hyped for the Shadow Troopers set, this is going to be great. I am just afraid those will be from the Rebels. Then it'd be a pass. And I am curious about the T-16, it might come with Sandpeople, but I would hope it comes with Biggs and a Womp rat. The lack of OT sets raises my hope for a 50€ exclusive OT set - either Dagobah (with Yoda, Luke, dirty R2, ghost Ben, Darth and swamp monster) or Mos Eisley streets set (with Sandies, Jawas, Wuher, Chewie, Garindan).

[MOC] Hot Rod - Lucky 13
Zzz replied to sm 01's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Welcome to EB! This is such a cool Hot Rod, a really stunning model with a lot of character. The functions and details are amazing, I especially like the turning lights (never seen this before) and the rear suspension. You surely put a lot of time and effort into this. Are you going to dismantle it eventually to use the parts for something else, or how do you deal with that issue? I wonder cause this is model I think it would be hard to split with.- 69 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Zzz replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I agree. I believe there will be 5 sets, they will be a little bit more expensive than the first Avengers sets (with 100€ for the biggest) and they will hold more minifigs. Still, you would need to get 4 of them to get the core Avengers and all 5 to get all minifigs. One will have the aforementioned Hulk (same mold as before) but with different prining than the 2 we got so far. Just my predictions, though..
