Since the new Hoth Troopers are tan/ dark tan (they went for a darker choice), Luke's torso should have been dark tan with tan arms, dark grey hands.. sigh. And I will not judge the Wampa by these pics, but it doesn't seem to hold up to the level the Tauntaun set.

Indy doesn't appear in the 2010 retail catalogue and will only be sold at s@h or Lego stores in 2010. Guess this is it then. Should we make a poll topic that we want at least one final Indy set? If someone has the power and reads this and is interested in it, please do so.. (and if we get a few hundred votes, maybe TLCs gonna do something) Anyway, I can only say, thanks a lot for attending in this thread, I was always following what your opinion about it is - and I say: If you still consider about getting a certain set, better buy it now. Remember Batman? Get it now. Zzz out.

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars sets?
Zzz replied to Loco de Lego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Why inaccurate? Whats wrong about it? (still thinking about my favorite set...) -
CW sets have a head start in this competition, since they came out in the last years. And TLC just discovered to use nice mechanics a few years ago, with a few exceptions (4502). I am sure we'll see some OT and PT sets with funny mechanics in the next years. Nice topic by the way! My vote goes to the CW LAAT/i - I can play with those bay doors for hours, load and unload troops and stuff. Even if I prefer OT, I have to admit that this is the best SW set to play with!

I hope the castle fans here will get something out of this line, to me it looks rather ... simple. But better than 2009. And the castle might turn out to be better than the current one, who knows. Since there are no small sets with some black knights or an impulse, I might go for the advent calendar this time, to collect the minifigs. Battlepacks (if they'll be released) make me remember quality issues. And I guess the'll release some, hence the limited minifigs in the sets. Very limited. Thanks for the info and pic links, thanks K-D for finding the Advent calendar!

What made you get out of your LEGO dark age?

I don't get it. You agree that Europe is more expensive. You even came there and noticed. "Usually it is the other way round"? I don't get it.

Yes, you are right, I asked for a bit too much. I got mine on sunday and I have to say: very nice. Best vehicle in a BP so far, nice colours, nice minifigs. Also I watched the movie the other day and I have to disagree with others and myself (...I was ranting earlier) that the new figs are no way like their movie counterparts. Wrong, here you see the guys: Lego just chosed a darker colour to match the "dirty white". In this picture he is really white, in the movie it appears darker. The only thing I do not understand though, is using one of the older 1999 torsos (the bearded guy) in this set still. Who is it supposed to be? The thing that Luke is also wearing (and with him lots of the Echo base guys)? But you can see in the skynews episode about Lego showing the new Luke, which is obviously the new tan torso with lighter (white?) arms. (You can check it on the first page in the rumour thread.) They could have put it into the BP already, if you ask me. Or did I miss something? Another costume?

Thanks, Mr Legolas. I am living in Europe/Japan and find it a bit annoying that the US complains about their prices so often. Example: 8039 Republic Cruiser 25,200 Yen = 273 US$ And no, times are over that we earn so much here in Japan. Crisis hit us hard.

10212 will come out in the first half of 2010. I am afraid to tell you that you might not have an idea of how much time it costs for TLC to design a set with instructions, package, stickers and actually produce or print all these and have at a time in (I assume) april or may the whole distribution planned and the set ready in a box to ship it? Since "you are trying to decide" what is in the set, still, with others from TLC right now, you might be a little late in making these decisions for a set coming out so soon. But since you are in charge of these decisions (you said), you should be a head of an operational business part in Denmark, since even designers don't make these important decisions. For being so high up in a company, why do you risk your job in sharing inside information and decisions? And coming back to my first point about the whole set design: Since I assume you don't have an idea, I may provoke in saying that you actually don't work for TLC but have also a limited insight of product development, marketing, sales, placement, distribution and general buiness economics, hence the fact you didn't study these (so far)?

Any other new info, rockinkurt? I love to hear anything! My thoughts so far (and thanks everyone for posting the news here!): - Imperial Shuttle (of course!): Needed a redesign. I had hopes for a rebel version but since we got them all last year, it is ok how it is. I just hope for enough room and a boarding ramp. TLC used to fool us a bit with the "shuttle" thing in the past years, the Nu-class not having space for more than one? But since the original Lambda held 4 passangers, I have high hopes! Of course it is not going to be as big as the Falcon, only a very few sets are in exact measure of their movie counterparts, like the new X-Wing and Y-Wing(s), the new Republic Gunship. Some of them are too big (new Landspeeder, Snowspeeder) and most are too small (Shuttles eg.) while some are totally out of size (Star Destroyers, Tantive 4) - Banes Speeder: wow, didn't expect it. So he is not exclusive to the CTT? Then give us an ARF with the CTT, TLC! Also I wonder for other minifigure in the speeder... - Brickmaster sets: nice, looking forward for that shuttle, not expecting too much for the X, since it seems to have a shape that is difficult for TLC to handle.
-
Since we talked about the CTT, AT-TEs and AT-RTs, I don't give up hoping for an ARF trooper. (crossing fingers) Were usual clones ever on an AT-RT?

Lego Digital Designer doesn't work on my Mac anymore...
Zzz replied to Zzz's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Thanks a lot so far. Unluckily it just doesn't work. What you said, I tried it several times, also before, different combinations, downloading the zip again, using different things to unpack etc etc. Just stays the same. But since I noticed that TLC is now charging you to upload a model with something like 8€ (didn't notice in the past), I installed LDD on the book of my girlfriend and use paper, pen and PaB, like in the old times... This can be closed, thanks, guys! -
I guess I build the minority, but I would have loved to have a CW Barriss, after watching the latest Geonosian Episodes...
-
Oh yes, please. A Clone Wars Jedi Temple! Like 1200 pieces, not too big. With the usual suspects (Mace, Yoda) and some new Jedi. No Hangar, cause it would become too big, but some nice interior: library etc. Fold out mechanism for playing, but outside like the real thing. After they messed up a bit on the few SW playsets we got so far (Ultimate Lightsaber Battle, Jabbas Palace, Cantina, Home One), this could be the Cafe Corner aka the Death Star of the CW! (But not as huge and expensive as the DS please..) We really need some nice building.
-
Same here. But why don't you get the whole set and sell the minifigs, or get the single fighter on ebay?
-
Just wait for 2011 and don't worry. Edit_: and @ JKool: You are not fair. We got the Snowspeeder with the Rebel Base and it seems we will get the same one with Wampa Attack in 2010. Y-Wing still sells for low price on BL, A- Wing does count and neither B-Wing nor Tie-B-Bomber were desired that much as to make a redesign now. I am all in for an X-Wing or Tie-fighter redesign, but for all the other ones, people, go to BL. Just my 2 or 3 cent. Happy new year! And I am sure X-Wing will see a redesign for 2011. Don't worry.

Cause the figures don't look like the CW style? They look like normal PT style. And as I said right before, TLC put the Falcon into CW and Anakins Fighter into OT, and so on and on. Isn't it proof enough that we should not listen to their categories? Doesn't seem that there is careful detailed talk with Lucas about in which category they put a set. I don't think that an OT collector bought the obvious CW set 7669, just because it is listed wrong by TLC. Just my 2 cent.

Lego Digital Designer doesn't work on my Mac anymore...
Zzz replied to Zzz's topic in Culture & Multimedia
It is just more convenient if you are into media things. Everyone has one in that business. Thanks so far for you help, Siegfried, but there were no recent updates for mac, I really have no clue what it might be. Seems I am alone with this problem... -
They are RotS sets, at least the Arc. CW sets use the same comic style on their minifigs as seen in the tv series. What TLC lists on their page is nonsense. Has always been, will always be. They put Anakins Jedi Starfighter (CW) into OT, AU sets (BP) into OT, PT sets into OT, but the Midi Falcon (OT) into CW. Nonsense. Don't care about them. Care about this: -Dot Eyes: OT, PT, AU -CW style: CW Every set containing no minifigs or only droids that APPEARS in both PT and CW could be both, though.

Lego Digital Designer doesn't work on my Mac anymore...
Zzz replied to Zzz's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I also read it, but I thought it refered to something else, actually. I never heard the term Power Mac in my whole life before. Edit: Mine is Intel, no PowerPC Mac. -
Hello guys n girls! I use Mac OS X 10.4 and LDD since years happily together. Upgraded LDD to 3.0 some time ago, and a few days ago, all of or sudden - it doesn't work anymore. I tried to change the settings with .text, erased everything and downloaded it again. But I am unable to open it. It only says "doesn't work with this version of OS X". TLC didn't reply so far. If someone has an idea, please help me....

Love your Riyo art! Inspired by this? (need to find a way to print this on a sticker... hope a copy shop can help me..) (and I agree with the Buckler that the Speeer set needed her. And Obi-Wan. And A Cold Assault Clone..)
-
This sounds strange, but... what I don't want: CW redesigns of ships or minifigs.

Toys R us Japan has the new 2010 in their online store, saw the BPs today at Ikebukuro for 2000Yen. Amazon has all the new sets, some for fair prices, cause they are 30 or something% off. Still, no sign of the Landspeeder. Must be exclusive or come out later. In the EU it belongs to the normal January line-up it seems, hence the older people buying it I assume.
