LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
ArrowBricks replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
You’re right. I’ve heard huge rumours the Lego Star Wars team are struggling for set ideas with the lack of Star Wars content being released by Disney. They’ve decided to make existing ideas extra bad as an up you to Disney. Chaos everywhere. Savour the final year of Lego Star Wars folks. -

Without speculating too much, I’d imagine Ahsoka will be treated in a similar way to Kenobi this year. With the Clone Wars anniversary coinciding with the show, I think we might get a Clone Wars Ahsoka. I still think Mando s3 will get more than the two sets rumoured. The trailer shows the first episode, and maybe the second max. So many unknowns that will certain translate into exciting sets. On a separate note, that Tie Bomber looks so juicy. I think Lego have done a wonderful job. It has such a classic feel to it, and I’m sure on display this thing will look fantastic. -

Overall, a good wave of sets even if it’s painfully (and I’d argue, wrongfully) small. 501st Battle Pack feels like a set that belongs in the “golden age” of Lego Star Wars. The build is fantastic. Tie Bomber looks really nice. Admittedly I’m not too familiar with the accuracy of the ship, but I imagine in hand and on display this will be a winner. I’m looking forward to seeing the functions on this thing! Slave One Microfighter does what it says on the tin. Certainly could be worse! The Tusken Raider Brickheadz is tidy, shame it didn’t come out with the hype of BoBF. It will be a while now before we see the March-May sets sadly (Feb), but I can’t wait for that, and for the leaks for the summer wave. I have a very good feeling about this year! -

Luthen’s ship is class. One of the very few instances where I’ve actively said I want that as a Lego set as I’m watching. Great scene. -

I went with the £130 price point because the leaked images of the ship seems considerably larger than the Clone Wars version; more Resistance Bomber like. I think with the Justifier making up 1000 pieces I think this could be similar, and the large pieces required for the wing section. I think £100 is probably more accurate, but I definitely don’t see it as the size of Mando Starfighters. The Jango prediction is fair, I just feel Lego need to capitalise on the Obi-Wan Starfighter set. I won’t purchase that until I see a Jango’s Slave One. I don’t think it will be the cheaper version. Lego will know fans want the full set, not a small knock off. It would look super weird being smaller/same size compared to the Jedi Starfighter, too! I think summer 2024 is a fair shout, though. I think the Stinger Mantis is a likely set to replace my Slave One prediction. I am not sure Lego will be too fussed with the new Bad Batch outfits if I’m honest. The bow piece makes sense, I think it’s likely. But I’ll always remember the Darth Mail hilt piece taking forever after it had been seen in MonkeyKid (I think?). Hence, not too optimistic. I disagree with the Cody idea. I just think the Helmets are the way they are for variety and novelty. Luthen’s Ship would be nice. I think it’s possible, for sure! D2c - AT-ST Walker or a Jabba’s Sail Barge me thinks. cheers for the reply/ideas! -

Prediction time baby! Naturally, I can’t guess everything because there are so many unknowns but atleast this is something. Interested to see other opinions too! Ahsoka’s Jedi Interceptor £24.99: Ahsoka Tano, R4 Rebel A-Wing £24.99: Rebel Pilot, Mon Mothma, Crix Madine Jango Fett’s Slave One £109.99: Jango Fett, Boba Fett, Lama Sue Ahsoka’s T6-Shuttle £129.99: Ahsoka Tano, 2/3 others Republic Gunship £159.99: Ahsoka Tano, Commander Rex, Bo Katan, Clone Pilot (Mint Green), 332nd Clone Trooper (x2), Rook Kast, Mandalorian Super Commando The rest: 2 x The Mandalorian S3 - £39.99-£99.99 Bad Batch S2 (could be S1, though!) £39.99-79.99 Clone Wars 2003 series £29.99-£49.99 If Bad Batch Season 1, I think we could see either an Imperial V-Wing or a Imperial Attack Shuttle. Hopefully we’d get some Imperial Commando’s! I think we get Omega, though. If they go for a 2003 Clone Wars set, I think it’s going to be hard to choose. I’d expect some Clone Troopers, atleast. Ventress’s Starfighter would be the dream, but I highly doubt it. -

Completely understand the sentiment. But, actually, because the show has gotten so much better, I’m not that all interested in the set that currently exists even though I’m glued! - The paradox! Sometimes we just have to appreciate the series and accept we won’t get added enjoyment through official Lego products. I think Mocs will go wild for Andor in the near future! -

I love the show, but it isn’t completely Star Warsesque and I think it will struggle to transfer to Lego. I think the ship that will appear in the final episodes has a chance, though. -

Never anything wrong with that! Some great ideas - I think we get a Gunship next year, but sadly I think it won’t be Episode 2. What we like to hear! Good luck :) look forward to seeing the completed project, as always. In other news ladies and gents I’ve been having a think about Summer 2023 predictions with the news that more Clone Wars could be on the way;) Will post it shortly! -

Not real. -
Of course, the sets are a tad expensive in the UK but I really do love the character that Lego Avatar brings. It’s so unique and charming. I love it. I really like a lot of these sets. I’d imagine in the summer we’d get a few more Brickbuilt creatures. I hope so anyway, as I love the idea of getting more sets that fit within what we have in this wave! My favourites are the Skimwing and the Payakan. The Sub is nice too! The reef is too expensive but I like it’s concept and uniqueness. I wish I liked the Ilu Discovery more, but hopefully I will like it in time.

I never said it was good news ;) Either way another brickheadz is a surprise as usually we get one. Odd choice too imo unless it’s a BoBF inspired set which I doubt highly. -

I am currently in the process of selling my 11 year-old collection (rip Palpatine’s Arrest, but hello sealed Resistance Bomber Finch Dallow version profits!) I love Lego and I will still purchase my favourite Star Wars sets. So, this got me thinking: what sets could Lego release and I’d all be all over it?! TPM: Naboo Royal Starship AOTC: honestly my favourite film from a Lego PoV, so I’d buy it if it was worth the money and looked accurate. Petranaki Arena, SPHA-T, Dropship, and Jango Fett’s Slave One would be real winners! ROTS: Honestly, unless I see shiny Phase II Clones I’m not interested. I guess a Duel on Coruscant, ARC-170, and Padme’s Star Skiff would be cool! TCW: Anaxes or Mandalore inspired Republic Gunship and I’m drooling badly. OT: Jabba’s Sail Barge. My first large set back in 2006 although it isn’t assembled and pieces are lost forever these days. UCS no, but a new system scale set with some cool new aliens would prop my interest. ST: I don’t think anything here would convince me, but an Aftab Ackbar should be made. The UA-TT is a cool vehicle I’d love to see made into an official Lego set. Hermit Lando would be great too. Solo, Rogue One: Nothing, really. New Media: I really loved the Imperial Commando’s from Bad Batch. Shame they’ll never happen. Apart from that, I love the shows for the most part but there isn’t anything there. -

I didn’t clarify. I think the minifigure selection was obscure, though. Absolutely zero need to release those figures. -

I think you’re correct, somewhat. I still think a Gunship will be released; Lego has seen first hand how well Republic prequel sets sell in this day. I can’t see why sets based on that era would slow down - look how obscure they’re becoming (Fighter Tank) -

If this was a Winter 2025 set list (thus ROTS anniversary), would you be underwhelmed? I’ve tried to make it realistic by not just doing ROTS as Lego would typically do, and include some more generic ships/vehicles from a wide array of media. Imperial Tatooine Patrol (Blister Pack) £12.99 (Brickbuilt Dewback, Sentry droid): Sandtrooper Commander, Sandtrooper (x2) Republic Artillery Forces £17.99 (Venator gun-deck Artillery Cannon): Phase II Clone Trooper (x3) Duel on the Death Star £19.99: Darth Vader, Ben Kenobi Rebel Fleet Troopers £24.99 (Battlefront 2005 Hovertank, Yavin Watchtower): Rebel Commando, Rebel Friend, Rebel Fleet Trooper (x2) Obi-Wan’s Blue Jedi Interceptor £29.99: Obi-Wan Kenobi, R4-G9, Tion Medon Separatist Troop Carrier £44.99: Battle Droid Pilot (x2), Battle Droid Commander, Battle Droid (x6), Wookie Warrior Republic Arc-170 Starfighter £54.99: Plo Koon, Captain Jag, Clone Pilot (x2), Republic Astromech Droid Then 3 sequel sets tied into scaled-down versions of classical ships… First Order Tie Fighter £34.99: First Order Tie Pilot, Captain Phasma, First Order Heavy Stormtrooper Sith Tie Dagger £44.99: Tie Pilot, Final Order Technician, Sith Sovereign Protector, Sith Trooper Resistance B-Wing £44.99: Aftab Ackbar, General Larma D’acy, Klaud, Resistance Solider (Didynon species) Helmets: Sandtrooper Death Star Gunner AT-AT Driver “Quote” display sets: Battle on Hoth £59.99 (similar to micro Trench run; snowspeeders, AT-AT’s) - “TBC” Death Star Detention Area £64.99: Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, Imperial Officer, Death Star Trooper - “TBC” Lars Homestead £59.99: Luke Skywalker, Owen Lars - “TBC” What would your quotes be? -

I thoroughly enjoyed it too, and have complete faith that it will continue to be great. Regarding the set, I just wish the wings were a little longer and it came with another enemy/guard figure. It was a really cool scene for sure. I can totally see why people would want to buy multiples as someone above has done :) -

The rumours are 5-6 minifigures. I think they’ll play it relatively safe. Jabba, Boushh Leia, Han Solo, Bib Fortuna, C3-PO I think are definitely going to be included. (then either Skiff Lando, Gamorrean Guard, or if the Carbonite mould classes as a figure) -
Congratulations! Honestly this is mega work! Really really love how my Geonosian swarm set turned out! Definitely highlights how the Starfighter can be officially improved! Get on it lego! I also love the Hoth set; for all the iterations over the years, you’ve managed to make yours feel new and novel. Overall, all are excellent! You have a real talent: sign him up Lego Star Wars team!
