I can’t wait when the swamp speeder proves to be a massive disappointment. -

There’s nothing wrong with being an OT fan! I think the sets are great, in fact better designed and they feel more complete than any other era, except the first wave of each of the sequel trilogy movies. I just think we need a better balance, but striking that balance is becoming especially tricky considering the influx of new content each year. I also tend to find the prequel sets are far less ‘complete’ which is super frustrating. There’s never a perfect set which is highly frustrating because the design team has all the tools and incentives to do exactly that. I am almost certain we will see sequel sets return and fans to be happy about that. I think there’s quite a few nice stuff, especially from TROS they omitted. I don’t think the love for those movies will be on the level of the prequels, unless they really expand that universe in a similar way to how The Clone Wars transformed the in-universe period. It seems clear to me that they’re slowly doing exactly that, especially with that Mando s3 episode the other week. I think the Star Wars team are pursuing a strategy of ‘hyper relevance’. They’re looking for sets that either appear directly in new shows, or represent vehicles and ships that crossover so that not only are they appearing in Mando but have been previously seen in other content. The Kenobi show is a perfect example of this. We got so many sets related to Kenobi as a character (Starfighter, AT-TE, Kenobi show sets). The summer of 2021 was quite similar too with the Duel on Mandalore stuff coinciding with Mando s2 E.g., Bo Katan. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of this strategy at all, although it does make sense. However, what has thrown me off quite a bit is this years summer wave. It all seems a bit too random. No sets really connect with each other. I was convinced we were going to see loads of Ahsoka sets E.g., Interceptor, Gunship etc. -

I think “toxic” is bounded around way too often these days. I think the Lego Star Wars team underestimated the love for the Prequels, plus they prefer the OT as do many others. Whilst the latter is my opinion, the trends do point that way. They were late to realise that many of the prequel lovers now had income c. 2018. From a personal note, I get fundamentally more excited by a prequel era, especially a Clone Wars (Clone related) set. The difference is stark, actually. For example I’m far more likely to purchase a swamp speeder than the other sets of the wave. I will always defend those that want - and often loudly demand - prequel sets. Of course, when it gets daft, no go. A younger Star Wars design team (judging based off of who grew up with what “Star Wars”) would undoubtedly take the line in a new, better direction. But that’s for another day. I am looking forward to seeing this wave, and hearing more about the unknowns. It’s fairly disappointing so far which is surprising given the momentum Star Wars has had recently. -

Rex has some legitimacy as far as I’m aware, but in truth I know nothing on this year rumours as of yet. Speculation, 95% certain it was at the time as I was one of many pestering for more info haha. Yes it’s a stupid argument, I think many here now are in agreement too. Oh, I’m drooling over that T6… would be a marvellous display piece. Whilst I think we were all surprised at The Justifier being released, Cad Bane’s appearance in TBOBF is important context behind the decision. It also made perfect sense for Omega, too who we didn’t get in the Shuttle the year before. Im fairly sure if you watch some of the designer videos on YT, they make clear it provided an interesting ship that they wanted to design, especially the landing mechanism. -

Could easily be a new Mando ship (I don’t look at any rumours so no idea if one’s coming). I’d be shocked if the N1 Starfighter remains Mando’s ship. The point is, nothing is certain until we get concrete info. I’d probably refrain from sweeping statements such as “I am pretty sure” because Lego always surprises us, for better or worse. It’s not even a rumour. -

Honestly it’s so so so tiring. It’s the clickbait YouTubers that drive me insane the most because they know better. Nothing to suggest this will be the set. -

There is no reason to suggest that the set is coming out. It was made very clear that MandR was purely wishlisting. That Instagram leaker is not reliable, either. It’s not even a rumour, let alone a legitimate one. -

Yeah…I don’t like this set so far. I’ll wait for the rest of the pics to be revealed. My main issues are the build itself; not sure it looks like what we saw, especially the EYE. Yes, there are plenty of explanations for potential inaccuracies but still. Figures are nice tho! Interested to see what’s in the Fang Fighter now! Had a feeling Bo would be found in that set. Darksaber is a needed improvement, but I’m surprised at the hilt still. Either way, it’s better than what we currently have. Overall, I think I bit of a meh set if I’m honest. Prefer the Snubfighter. -

I’d love it, but with another large playset with Yavin I don’t even think there’s a 5% chance, sadly. -

Every time I see Mando’s N-1 Starfighter on screen I think of how butchered the Lego version is. I really do hope for a remake. The one currently feels so rushed. One can hope! -

Personally don’t think the Snubfighter is as bad of a deal than suggested. People are making these conclusions whilst seemingly forgetting the price hikes as a standard. Admittedly, Greef Karga would have been nice but until I know the minifgures for the summer wave I can’t fully use that as a criticism. In terms of the Microfighter, I can only speak of the UK price. At £13 it’s not terrible, especially when relativising with the existing prices of the sets these days. -

Yes. One because you can’t exclude minifigure potential, and 2 it’s an iconic scene for all prequel lovers. If some right, I can imagine an amazing display piece. Yeah, this. Swamp speeder could be anything really. -

Some great analysis and discussion here, thoroughly enjoyed it. The irony is Episode 2 only has a select number of sets where Clone Troopers could feature. The ones that have, have been done: Gunships, AT-TE’s, Homing Spider Droid etc etc. With the success of TCW, combined with a considerable influx of Lego Star Wars fans that want Clone Troopers, Episode 2 actually has little appeal for the designers. That is of course assuming the logic above. At the same time, I am surprised we have not seen a Jango’s Starship and Coruscant Chase. I think we’d all agree that we’d buy those at RRP. -
Big fan of the dioramas - great job.

I’d love it to be, but I can’t see that piece count for an Endor set. Trust me, there’s loads of existing options let alone new ones with new media. It makes no sense to release a Gunship in September. If we were getting a Gunship we’d know about it now. It would have been leaked because it’s a huge hype set. -

I love your enthusiasm, but I have to agree with @Retro Brick Reviews (apart from Fleet Troopers we agree haha;)) This will never happen. However, I’d love to see your ideas in the “Future Star Wars Sets” thread on this forum! In other news, considering the remake of the UCS X-wing, are we anticipating another UCS re-release in October? For that piece count and price it has to be a Death Star or something like a Super Star Destroyer. -

Yes it’s exactly this, which is exciting. Makes the Clones included even more important! I do hope it’s not a Kashyyyk Bp, I really do… Both would sell amazingly well, and the hype would be immense. A Geonosian Arena with 12-16 figures would be incredible. -

There’s a chance, but why wouldn’t it be released for August rather than September as rumoured. I think you need to accept there won’t be a Gunship this year, maybe next time sadly.
