  1. Indeed, probably didn't help that Jang built the stud shooters upside down though. My problem with the flyer is that it is too flat on the sides. While it is possible for certain sets to excel at both looking good and having good play features, the Rolling Arsenal definitely leans towards play rather than looks. It looks fine in its default form, but starts to look worse as the side panels extend and the mini vehicles are removed.
  2. "FRED" could also be a reference to this, which is also quite obscure. Although, I doubt many people would know that Cesar and Berserker are computer viruses without having to google them first like I've also had to do. It's always fun to try and decode these references though.
  3. Here's a link to the pictures of Axl's vehicle from the Lego Life magazine. Funny you should mention this, because it looks like Axl will get a new face print next year (see the pictures I linked above), so I hope the other knights will receive an update too.
  4. Just got hold of the UK Lego Life magazine which contains an image of Axl's Rolling Arsenal, will try to upload an image soon, if someone hasn't already.
  5. I don't think so, since we've already seen the final images of all the winter TLNM sets that show that Garmadon is the same as the one we've gotten previously in the Garma Mecha Man and Green Ninja Mech Dragon (minus the cape). Another point to consider, in the preliminary images for SOG, Garmadon is the character featured in the top corner of the boxes, and I doubt that they'd put him there without including him in that form in any of the sets.
  6. Great review! I recently built this set and am a tad disappointed with the disc spinner mechanism, which after pulling the trigger a few times, causes the bricks and plates underneath the spinner to start to separate. The black pipe piece that is used as a spring for the trigger also likes to come out of the mechanism from time to time. Just wondered if anyone else has had this issue, or could suggest any modifications I could make to hold the parts together more securely. Thanks!
  7. Another pic has shown up showing the Lloyd minifigure that we've already seen, with SILVER SHURIKENS! So happy that the piece has finally been re-coloured.
  8. So very disappointed by this set, like others have suggested, the Joker-ish parts should have been optional. It doesn't even look like it will be easy to mod without buying a substantial amount of extra bricks. I'm not really interested in any of the minifigures either so I think I'll pass on this one.
  9. Or perhaps computer virus themed monsters? The black and green areas that have appeared in the app look very similar to the kind of pattern you'd find on a circuit board. The set names for next year would also make sense with the virus theme; "Twinfector" because viruses 'infect' other computers, and "Berserker Bomber", since 'berserker' is a kind of virus itself.
  10. The green parts look like the kind of pattern you'd find on a circuit board. Come to think of it, perhaps next years villains are computer virus themed, that would explain the "Twinfector" and "Berserker Bomber" set names.
  11. Smyths does stock D2C sets, I bought the Temple of Airjitzu from there.
  12. I think that too, the blue guy from the videogame trailer looks to be wearing the same helmet as those guys you've pointed out. I find it odd that we have barely seen these characters while all the sets include shark army villains instead, as these new guys look quite interesting, and kind of serpentine-esque with their scale armor and anacondrai helmets.
  13. Posted this in the videogame thread aswell, but I spotted some odd villain minifigs in the trailer. any thoughts on these? EDIT: Image removed
  14. Looks good. I did manage to spot some odd looking villain minifigs in the trailer aswell, any thoughts on these? They look a bit like serpentine with that scale armor and those anacondrai helmets.
  15. While I hope he appears aswell, there are several stone monsters that appear in the show that don't appear in sets including: 2 Rogul variants, 2 Scurrier variants, 2 different stone knight statues and another stone stomper variant. If there is a retail exclusive for the summer wave, I can't see it coming with all of them, which would be disappointing.
  16. I noticed some potential plot stuff in the set images that recently surfaced:
  17. These pictures are a welcome surprise, and those are some amazing looking sets. A couple of interesting things I noticed are that Kai's Mech has a pair of disc launchers in red up on the shoulders, and that the laser weapon that Garmadon is holding in the mechdragon set also appears in the Destiny's Bounty, being held by Nya (plot significance maybe?). The mechdragons head doesn't bother me that much, as it looks like it only appears oversized because of how the dragon is posed in the picture, so I'll wait until we get better pictures to make up my mind about that one. Everything else looks great though (juniors set included).
  18. Thanks for the heads up! I've just ordered a few Rogul minifigs since I won't be buying either of the sets they come in.
  19. I believe he means Nexo Knights will last for as many years as they have planned. Problem is, we don't know how many years that is, for all we know Lego may have indeed planned the theme to only last two years, but I'm still hoping for longer.
  20. Nabii is Mark Stafford, a Lego designer who works on Nexo Knights, so I believe him when he says that the rumours are false.
  21. I for one hope that the rumour isn't true. As someone who became properly invested in Lego through themes such as Atlantis and Ninjago, Nexo Knights also appealed to me and I have enjoyed the sets that I have bought so far. I will say that the part of the rumour about the summer wave not being released doesn't seem like it could be true. After all, if they weren't going to be released, then why would they show up on the shop site where the official images were found? Even if the theme's run is to be cut short, I would still like to see just one more wave of sets (featuring a Monstrox minifig, of course).
  22. Not really, in both of those examples, the sets you've listed are part of a larger theme. For example, the Last Jedi sets are intermixed with the regular SW sets for the year, forming a continuous list, while the Thor sets are part of a bigger list that contains both DC and Marvel sets. The reason I think that the D2C is the missing set 70619, is because from my understanding, D2C's never appear on the initial set lists, unlike retail exclusives that sometimes do.
  23. Kai's mech looks great, and doesn't look too scaled down from the on-screen version. I hope this means that the other sets will be revealed soon. Those sets were not featured on the SinQel website where the prices and pictures of sets from most other themes were found, all the other Ninjago Movie sets were listed, which points to those sets being exclusives. I'm not sure that set 70620 is the D2C though, since I don't think that D2C sets have ever been discovered along with the set list for the regular sets, their set numbers pretty much always come with the official announcement for the set. And don't forget about missing set 70619, which I personally think is more likely to be the D2C.
  24. Following up from my earlier post, there's a lot of large sets here, two of which are over 100 euros, with the rumored Ninjago City set possibly being a third set for that price bracket. On top of that, what we're assuming are the ninja's vehicles are all above 50 euros, so while this means that there's a good chance of them being sufficiently detailed and faithful to their on-screen counterparts, collecting them all is going to be quite expensive.
  25. I really like how most of these sets look, although I might try to modify the Stone Colossus' legs when I get it. The only set I really don't like from this wave it Axl's vehicle, it's just too gappy around the back. It's a shame that the two sets from this year that I like the least are the only two that come with the amazing Rogul minifig. Yup, as seen in the show, the whole dragon can attach to a battle suit.
