BrickLinking (another) 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon
Jannik replied to Lobot's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Its doubtful that I will ever build one of these (due to the cost and size) so I am loving these mid build photos that show details of how it goes together, which you can't see once it is finished, some really useful ideas like the links that connect the long technic bricks to stop them seperating due to the weight of the model.- 290 replies

Thanks for all of your nice comments Haha I don't know! Maybe one day I will build the whole thing... Kind of. It's not supposed to be the Ghost, but it is obviously inspired by it. I started out trying to see how easy it would be to build a minifig compatible Ghost, but then decided that I wanted to do something a little bit more original. I think next time I build a ship this size I need to plan a lot earlier how to photograph the interior.

The fourth part of the story of how I joined the Rebel Alliance, following on from: Part One - http://www.eurobrick...opic=100455&hl= Part Two - http://www.eurobrick...opic=100584&hl= Part Three - http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=104509 I was being held in a detention cell with a pilot, whose name I had learned during our time detained together was Jaina Aldan. When a small group of soldiers rushed into the cell, I had acted in the heat of the moment, and helped to over power the Imperial officer who was pointing his blaster towards her. I had no choice now, I had to go with them. I followed these soldiers through the base, wondering how they planned to escape. It seemed desperate, three soldiers and the pair of us against who knows how many Imperial troops. Jaina seemed calm, and I sensed a slight mocking tone in her voice when she asked the leader of the soldiers, who I later learned was Sergeant Diggs, whether he remembered where the entrance to this base was. He turned to face her and I was suprised to hear him say that we were not heading for the entrance, as that is exactly what the Empire would be expecting. He then explained that he had watched a small freighter land at the base's only docking bay. The unloading of crates the freighter appeared to be nearly complete as the soldiers burst through the door into the docking bay. They quickly overwhelmed the stormtroopers closest to the door as they caught them off guard. I watched nervously as the remaining troopers took cover behind the crates, which formed natural cover for the troopers closer to the ship. The situation looked impossible until another small group of rebel soldiers appeared from the opposite side of the docking bay. "What kept you?" was shouted towards them as the two groups surrounded the Imperial troops, who quickly surrendered rather than be caught in the cross fire. After the Imperial troops dropped their weapons, Jaina and the Sergeant cautiously approached the freighter. "I hope you are not expecting me to pilot that heap of junk" she asked, laughing. "Well, there is a detention cell just waiting for your return if you're not up to it" I climbed up the ladder behind Jaina, taking a seat behind her in the cockpit. As we started to take off, I hoped my first every journey on a star ship would not be my last.... To be continued. I would like this to be judged please.

[SoNE Ep VIII Freebuild] Danger Close
Jannik replied to LucasLaughing's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
I love the atmosphere of your stories, they are so intense. Nobody else on here comes close to the gritty realism of troopers slugging it out on the ground, which is one of the things that really appeals to me about SoNE, its much more relatable than jedis with special powers. I really like the use of focus in your pictures and the darkness of the first few pictures, although I was relieved to see the "light enhanced" shots, I was initially a little concerned that you had produced a great build that we wouldn't be able to see because of course the raid takes place at night. The use of acronyms and unfamiliar names made the story a little hard to follow, and to start with I thought that the Clovis troopers were your squad as they are dressed in a very similar way to the story that you did a while ago with the bird in the jungle, but in a way that helped give a sense of confusion that helped the tension of the story. There are some really nice elements to the build as well, like the angled edges of the grey building and that mini TIE bomber. -
Is it possible for Rodians to pilot pod racers?

Apologies if I am misunderstanding what is being suggested here, but I don't like the idea of further limitations on what people can build until they have earned enough XP to pay for it. It is all sounding quite complicated, and I already find it a little difficult to think of suitable ideas for things to build. It is going to potentially be quite off putting for someone new, if for example they can't build a ship when most of the starwars lego is more suited to building ships.

Thanks for all of your comments

The third part of the story of how I joined the Rebel Alliance, following on from: Part One - http://www.eurobrick...opic=100455&hl= Part Two - http://www.eurobrick...opic=100584&hl= "We are in position Sir. The charges seem to have done their job as two squads of Stormtroopers just left the base following the sound of the explosion. Its now or never" Sergeant Diggs approached the side entrance of the base unarmed. Stormtrooper squad leader: "Halt rebel scum. Restrain him Trooper" The two Stormtroopers were in for a suprise when they reached the base of the steps "Open the door, now!" "Looks clear, lets go" "Make sure those two behave, our intel shows there is a storage room on the left where we can secure them" The two Stormtroopers would not be the only Imperials to get a suprise today as Sergeant Diggs entered the storage room Sergeant Diggs: "Make sure they are gagged, or things are going to start getting more difficult in here" Back in the main corridor, the Stormtrooper Sergeant would not be so easy to overwhelm Hearing the sound of blaster fire, the two Stormtroopers assigned to guard the detention cell waited nervously After a brief exchange, their fate was the same as that of their Sergeant "Hurry, get that cell door open, we don't have much time" As the doors slowly glided open, the Rebel troopers found that the pilot they had come to rescue was being held at gun point by an Imperial officer As the officer made his threats I took my chance, and dived over the bench towards him The officier stared forward as my restraints were removed and instead placed on his wrists To be continued... I would like this build to be judged please

Really like this, much cleaner looking than my version was

Thanks for the tag

Wow, the fact that it was so close makes me even more excited for the next episode. I would like the tag please

I like the ghost a lot more now having seen the show, the lego version looks too dumpy to me. Your mods are an improvement, although I think it really needs to be longer and wider and less clean looking

[SoNE Freebuild] In the shadows of the corporations
Jannik replied to Jannik's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Thank you judges, very pleased to get my first SoNE points. Markus, your kind words on my builds are very much appreciated, but you seem too nice to be building for the empire, you sure its not you who is on the wrong side? -
Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion

Could someone please point me in the direction of the instructions of how to generate a SoNE signature like Monty and Goatman have above? Thanks -
I have really enjoyed being part of my first SoNE episode (after watching the last couple) thank you to the organisers for all of their work, especially MKJoshA for being such a great host.

Thanks, the design is loosely based on the Kenner toy, some concept art for rebels, and a different version that I think was for a computer game. Also wanted to avoid having figures in those silly side pods. I don't need this to be judged before the end of todays closing date as it won't affect my ability to post another build (I won't get enough points and haven't started any other builds anyway). Am I right in thinking that after episode 6 closes today I can still do two more freebuilds before the next episode starts?

My second freebuild. Following my arrest (see http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=100455) the stormtrooper sergent called for a transporter Inside was a large wookie behind bars. Fearing that I would be put behind the bars with him, I was glad to be pushed towards a bench that I assumed was normally used by the storm troopers. Already sat on the opposite bench was a woman wearing a pilot's helmet. As I looked nervously towards the wookie she didn't take her eyes off of the storm trooper From the forward compartment I heard a trooper on the radio: "Yes sir we have picked up the Rodian, heading back to base now" More views of the Imperial Troop Transporter: After travelling for a long time, for what must have been a significant distance, I wondered if we had left the industrial centre. Of course I had no idea what was happening outside... Rebel trooper: Yes I have visual confirmation of the transport, the transponder is functioning correctly, we'll get our pilot back Thanks for looking, I would like this build to be judged pleased

[SoNE Freebuild] In the shadows of the corporations
Jannik replied to Jannik's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Thanks Aland. -
My first freebuild for episode six, this is the first part of the story telling how I joined the rebel alliance. In the shadows of the corporations, in the dirty patches of land between their giant factories, we scratched out a living. I worked as a mechanic, repairing speeders for clients who didn't wish to spend the kind of money charged by the established workshops. Others were traders, but we all had one thing in common, the corporations who ran the factories that towered above us wished they could remove us, by any means. I had spent two days trying to make the engine run properly, despite its neglect since it was new. This wasn't understood by the owner, who raved and ranted that I was cheating him... As he shouted over my explanations, I didn't hear the troopers approaching until it was too late to run Being surrounded by the imperial troops I froze Stormtrooper: You are coming with us Rodian scum, you will be locked up for a lifetime to pay for your crimes Me: But...I am innocent... Stormtrooper: You are wanted for crimes on Fondor and Ord Mantell as well as in this sector Me: But I have never even been to those systems, you must have me confused with someone else... Stormtrooper: All I know is I have orders to detain a Rodian mercenary and you will do just well enough The security guard smiled as he looked down from the factory above, his employer would be pleased with this outcome Overview Without the minifigs or speeder Pics of the speeder by itself Thanks for looking, I would like this freebuild to be judged please.

We are catching up...

My second mission with my unit. After failing to locate our target on Felucia we travelled to Bothawui. Sergeant Diggs seemed concerned about the Bothan agents that had provided the Felucian intel so we would try to make contact. We approached the communications post carefully under cover of some bushes. On closer investigation the place seemed to be abandoned, which was strange as we had expected it to be well guarded. Rax and I were sent up to align the dishes to try to contact the Bothan network. The mechanism had jammed but I managed to free it with the help of a large spanner. With the dishes now aligned Sergeant Diggs was able to activate the large hologram communication interface. Unfortunately on making contact we didn't recieve the news we were hoping for. Our target had already left this system and the spies who sent us to Felucia hadn't been heard from since... Overview:

[SoNE Episode VI] Fondor Search
Jannik replied to Jakorin Swiftsword's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
I really like this build. The use of the arches for the windows is great, although I cant work out how the right hand side is constructed. The detailing on the walls and the door is very good, if this is your first space build I can't wait to see how they get even better. Plus its always better to have rebel characters in a build rather than those dull monochrome imperials -
I have updated the photos, hopefully it looks a little more like Felucia now, although I don't have enough translucent parts to make it looks like other peoples interpretations I am pleased with it
