  1. Thanks @Berthil. I shall apply lubrication as well as soon as I rebuild the turntables part with those neck brackets. I will post more photos when finished. Best regards.
  2. Hmm, I thought I was finished, but still a long way from it. I got the timing all set and it works for a couple of balls. Problem no.1: Friction in the turn tables: When solo, all the turntables are rotating easily and smooth. It seems 6 of them together generate a lot of resistance. @Berthil, did you lubricate your turntables - yours seem to run so smoothly with no shaking at all. In my case (without lubricant) the whole turntable assembly starts shaking quite bad and it gets loose at the points of attachament. Problem no.2: 24t gear skipping: I didn't use neck brackets to build the turntable assembly, like Berthill did, and therefore the lower line of holes in technic bricks cannot be linked with the 24t axle that drives the turntables which are wobbly because of friction and the 24t skips. Neck brackets are already on the way and I tend to rebuild the whole turntable assembly by using them. Even if I succeeded minimizing the friction, I think not bracing turntables against the 24t axle will result in skipping of the gears. Some photos below. This module looks fantastic IRL so I hope I get it to work as smooth as Berthil's original.
  3. Great choice for a model - I was thinking about it as well. You sure got my attention! This is my favourite helicopter. NOT sure if I'll manage to make anything though... Best regards and good luck!
  4. Stud.io is one program and LDD - lego digital designer is another - they use compatible files but are not the same. LDD is an official LEGO software and Studio is developed by Bricklink...
  5. Hi, nice idea for the contest, but I believe the rules state that a separate topic for contest entry is obligatory.
  6. Actually, don't tell me just yet, I turned my brain on and might be able to make it on my own :-)
  7. I prefer this cup to cup more than Akiyuki's so.....yes, I am working on it And now it is me being lazy: @Berthil Is there a secret super dooper formula to get the turntables sinchronised? Since you cannot just unhook the black part of the turntable with ease, it is not so trivial to change teeth alignment once assembled... Oh, and since I don't have enough of those thin L-shaped-minifugure-over-neck-backpack-connectors, I simply connected the turntables to the upper and lower technic-brick beams by using hole+pin connectors with half-pins. The only difference is that it must be stacked with two plates above and below and the distance between the technic bricks is again 7 studs... I do predict some trouble with meshing the 24t gear with the first turntable though, because my turntable is directly in the middle of the two technic brick beams and yours is slightly off centre...
  8. This really made me crap my pants Fantastic idea, this will be a huge hit on events! I pity the poor guy behind the counter, all the flushing he has to take up :-) Briliant and very refreshing!
  9. Someone's been very patient with laying that tape. Looks very precise. Fantastic models. Seeing photos from the event overall, I really regret not coming this year. I hope I manage next one. Best regards, Miha
  10. Great idea and execution! Congratulations on the numbers and the whole turntable. I am guessing that you use rigid tubes through the brown headlights in the outer rim? Those glow-in-the-dark balls are really cool. Where did you get them? EDIT: I just realized that you use the narrow railway tracks below the turntable. How many wheels did you use? Would be great if you could reveal the bottom of the turntable.
  11. Are the new arches printed (which would be unusual) or are those stickers (which would be a bit hard to apply - for kids that is)?
  12. I would be really thankful for anything you can provide. Thx again. Best regards.
  13. Hey @HallBricks! Fantastic design! Congratulations on the podium. Did you perhapse make some digital model of the fantastic upper mechanism? Or maybe do you have some additional photos from different angles. I would really like to try to build this... Best regards, Miha
  14. THx for suggestions @Doug72, I'll give it a try over the weekend.
  15. That is great news @Berthil and fantastic achievement. My eleveator still has a lot of issues, I noticed that when batteries in trains are not as fresh anymore the lift sometimes jams on top or at the bottom. The rotary dumper on the other hand indeed works flawlessly.
  16. I changed the rail switch and had no problem afterwards. But those guardrails are a nice solution as well. So far I had no problem with the passing module, except the 6x1 plate that holds the inverted gear rack fell off once...
  17. I missed that post, sorry. Great work again Doug and on that rotating platform as well. It's true what you said about the original versions of the both contraptions and you succeeded improving them with exelence! Again I have to admit, I will grab on to your fine ideas
  18. Wow, some really nice entries and well deserved winners. That Ranger Rover looks fantastic! I am guessing those rims are from RC? Do you happen to have the link to those?
  19. Yes, but I am taking about the "broken" truck which you pull...it makes your tow truck harder to pull because of the "dead" motors in the "broken" truck.
  20. Very cool! But is there any problem since the hauled truck has driving axles connected to motors. I guess if the hauled vehice has a neutral gear it would be much easier to haul.
  21. Fantastic! Any stickers in the making?
  22. Yes maybe, but 152 pcs in 100 pcs pack??? :-) Seems silly, but good for us ;-)
  23. Yes, that is correct, I am familiar with the procedure. But I believe even in LUGBULK a 1000 bals are worth at least a new Rough Terrain Crane - It would still hurt my eyes and ears when I'd saw them flying all over the exhibition area I saw that Mr. Atkison from the US updated his ball collection with all new whites and had them custom printed with Brick World logos.
  24. Quercetti balls are made of plastic. The manufacturer from Italy sells also plastic marble run sets of different elements and setups. I am really satisfied with them. The declaration says that diameter is 14 mm, I measured some and there is some tolerance regarding size but no more than 0,2 mm. On our events I am ususally the only GBC provider and I run my own balls (this might sound different as it was ment ) Buying larger quantitites of original LEGO balls, that are currently available in white with no print, is, as far as I know, possible via LUGBULK option for recogognized LEGO user groups (RLUG). There are several rules and restrictions how a LEGO fan club becomes RLUG and then it is possible to buy bulk quantitites of bricks that LEGO makes available once a year.
