  1. I'd reeeeeeally have to be won over by the designs of the minifigures and the quality of the builds. DC has been my primary purchase since the theme launched, but primal would be a bit more of a stretch than I would make a necessity, especially as money is tight while my wife is getting through grad school.
  2. Yes. The only character not in an explicitly DC Rebirth-styled costume is Joker, who is in his vest from the DC Super Villains game.
  3. Baaaaaasically, Batman has been based off of just about everything. His first suits since the Super Heroes lines were comics-based, and when it's an obvious movie set, the source is clear, but then there will be random versions like the one in Flash's first appearance set, which was based off of Beware the Batman, a very short lived (and highly underrated) CG animated series. Most of the others are comics-based, with some, like the Electric suit, being original to Lego in the first place.
  4. Hair is the DC Super Hero Girls Barry Allen. Torso is from Onaconda Farr from The Clone Wars. Thanks! He's been a long time getting tweaked and changed, but I'm finally satisfied with him!
  5. With the new aviation air mask piece, I finally had a more accurate piece to update my Ratcatcher.
  6. It's not. The current, molded T-Rex is roughly to scale with minifigures; a human would be decently close to the knee, which is about where the 'figs hit our molded Rex. This brick built Rex appears to be about twice or three times that height alone, just guesstimating based on studs. The gate isn't quite as out of scale, but it may still be about five or six human heights too tall, although I'm having more difficulty judging that since it's more in the background. Yeah, I don't like the eyes on it. Instead of "peak predator," it looks kinda derpy.
  7. Honestly, I have no interest in this set. It's all far too big to be in-scale with minifigures, and with my budget, it would simply not be worth spending that same amount on other sets. I'll have to pass.
  8. I really love that effect of Batman's cape as he lands in the last one. In fact, there are several clever techniques in here!
  9. Not intending to double-post this pic across multiple boards, but since it's based explicitly on the TV version, it seemed worth sharing here too. This is the Supergirl version of Agent Liberty.
  10. Agent Liberty, as based on his appearance in Supergirl this most recent season.
  11. For anyone who has ordered the Spider-Man minifigure pack, who has seen printing problems with the eye in-person? I've seen several reviews around where it seems to be present, but the reviewer didn't mention it, as well as a few where it seems to have no problem, but was hard to tell for sure. I want to order it, but not if it'll be a half-guarantee for the issue.
  12. Purist Brainiac 5, as well as Lightning Lad with the new Ron Weasley hair, of which I have several thanks to that darn CMF always turning up in my bag somehow...
  13. Maybe not? It's always hard to tell how the exact details of toy company's contracts go. They will loophole the holy hell out of what can and cannot be done to make things work. For example, Funko can't make "standard" Pops of Marvel or Star Wars licenses, so they make bobblehead Pops (of which Star Wars even has to have specialized stands), UNLESS it's in a special multipack, which allows them to make non-bobblehead Marvel Pops. So for Lego's capabilities, it depends on what Playmobil has categorized their contract under. I doubt they'd have full control as a "building line" (which they aren't), so we're probably safe. Just so long as Megabl**ks keeps their grubby mits out of the pot.
  14. I mean, yes. You are absolutely, 100% correct. I guess my question is a bit more "experimental" than "practical" in this situation.
  15. After building the Target exclusive coffee/donut stand set, I was amused enough by a, shall we say, weird setup (compared to what usual instructions do) that I recorded a quick and impromptu video for my youtube channel. However, this did establish a legitimate train of thought in my head I figured was worth discussing. Do the instructions inspire anyone else's preset "story" concepts set up in the sets? For myself, it's absolutely the case. Beyond just imagining why each character is in the set, I've always tended to the specifics shown. If all characters are build right at the outset, that implies a total connection between all and the items in the build proper. If the characters are divided, I can't help but try to figure out why-- Do the Stormtroopers only show up at this phase because they don't want the X-Wing to reach completion? Is Two-Face here because his truck is almost ready for him to use, or is he showing up only because it's ready soon and he's impatient to rob that bank? Point being, as I build, the way the designers choose to lay out the manual definitely shapes how I'd picture the full set getting played with. Does anyone else have any opinions on the matter? Do the instructions change how you'd imagine the setup? More so, are there any sets that gave you specific story ideas based solely around what order it told you to build in? I'm very interested in knowing.
  16. I didn't realize the Hoskins face had been tweaked to include a smirk.
  17. You're right. The first "drop an elder into a pot" feature doesn't count; I believe they had those in the original Knight's Kingdom line. This is the best name for it and I refuse to refer to Swaddlemort in any other way from this point on.
  18. This is the best piece I have ever seen. Also, I suppose this makes the first "drop an infant into a pot" play feature Lego has ever done!
  19. I would love to see the helmet piece used on the Wasp and the more recent comics-based Iron Man used for characters like Deathstroke and Deadshot. It could even give an interesting head shape for someone like Red Tornado. The Firefly helmet could work well for the Arkham Knight, and potentially even for recent versions of Robotman, giving the option for Cliff Steele's surviving brain as a printed head piece below it.
  20. It's sufficient. It looks accurate enough for his hair, so I don't mind it.
  21. Except it didn't "underperform." It did had the lowest earnings of the DCEU, but also the lowest budget, and made back well more than it cost. Most likely, Lego decided to focus the budget on a Batman-based theme due to A) his anniversary and B) his selling capabilities, and added Shazam in due to the recent addition. Since the DCEU standalone movies have always gotten fewer sets (excluding Man of Steel), it doesn't surprise me that they stuck to this plan.
  22. What I would want as "mature" themes would almost never be accepted, but hey, I'm all for wishful thinking. Primarily, I would be all about Assassin's Creed. I would buy any and all sets for any of the games. Even for Arno, and he's a right ol' stick in the mud.
  23. Red Hood centered? Truly unexpected. Shame about no fig, although there was one last year without a fig, so I'm not too surprised. If they do this year's the same way there should be one with a fig later on.
  24. I look forward to seeing the rest!
