Ok so I have been watching a lot of Border Wars on National Geographic channel. Then I realized I could replicate one of the common themes of the show. Illegal Transportation of hispanics via Freight Truck. I used two traffic cops and two mexicans from Series 2 lego figures. I also used my newly acquired Toys R Us delivery truck. Now I need a lego dog. Do they make lego dogs with a leash? Im hoping for a police dog. so i can use it as a drug sniffing dog.

any word on real blackfriday news? Those alarm clocks look awesome. I wonder how big they are.

Trying different hair styles on Luke. I kinda like the Surfer hairstyle than the effeminate blonde woman's hair.

ARGH, well all the Lego stores are here in NY and NJ. However my fiancee and I have plans to spend Thanksgiving in Pittsburgh, with friends. It is a lego dead zone. So I guess I will have to hope for good BF deals at Target. Im just not excited at fighting crowds and waiting in the cold for hours. Last year, we were living in Pittsburgh, we had Thanksgiving with the same friends. We found out that Old Navy had a special deal. Buy clothes and get Lego Rock Band for $10. What a deal. we all got copies. However we had to wait for a few hours in the cold. Luckily we were the first in line. People started pouring in line. No guarantee to those further back in line. Within a half hour of opening the store, an employee gave out wristbands and vouchers to claim the game. As long as we had the voucher we were guaranteed a game. They had only a limited number for PS3, Wii, and Xbox.

There is Aldis in Pittsburgh. When i went to Sheffield, UK back in July i walked into an Aldi and it is NOT a grocery store. it is more like a general store with little odds and ends. They did have some groceries but they had these big tables/baskets with merchandise. cheap merchandise. Motorcycle boots, cordless drills and other miscellaneous stuff.

I went to TRU cause I got some coupons from TRU rewards. $5 TRU bucks for anything, and a $5 off $50 purchase of Legos. However it excludes Harry Potter and SW. I ended up getting the TRU delivery truck and Toy Story Buzz and Woody rocket RC set. Even better, TRU has a BOGO 50% off PLUS I got the free mini figure, last one in the store too!!! Not bad. Basically I got the Toy story set for free!!!

I tried my hand at the incoming on south ridge shot. The older 4483 ATAT is noticeably larger than my newer ATAT maybe cause it has a snow speederbike up its butt.

After looking them over and dusting them off, 3 inch paint brush works wonder. Nope no pieces missing except the snow speeder set is missing the rebel trooper and radar dish gun. But to make up for it I found two storm troopers inside the ATAT seats. And to add to that surprise one has a Ep.III Obi Wan Kemobi head from the 7143 Jedi Starfighter. And the other stormtrooper has some guy with glasses on his forehead. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3626bpx32 Here they are. He didnt have anything else. Sorry. Cleaned him out. -

Not really a question but I feel like celebrating. I just scored a SW lot from Craigslist. $30 usd for: 4483 AT-AT complete but no box or instructions 6208 B-Wing complete no box 7130 Snowspeeder (no rebel trooper or dish gun) a bit of a drive at 180 miles round trip plus tolls but not bad, not a bad haul at all. Pictures will be coming soon. EDIT: I realized I put 180 one way. not true. 180 round trip. 90 miles one way. -
please take this apart and show how it is made, so i can copy it and make one for myself. GORGEOUS. please make a how to for those of us, me in particular, who suck at reverse engineering this.

Now that I finally found the ever elusive Spartan from series 2, I was wondering if there are any 3rd party makers who make a sword that looks like the sword from the movie 300? Thanks
-
The Spartan was the hardest to find. I found all but the spartan at Target for $2.99 each. Yes TRU stores sell them for $3.99 however I have only found them at one TRU. I randomly stopped on my way to Pittsburgh, from NY, I stopped at the last stop in NJ before entering PA. I saw a TRU nearby and decided to go in. I found 2 spartans!!!!! Finally I have completed the set. It was easy to identify them once scans of the barcodes were made available. But the problem was finding a Spartan. I have searched numerous Targets and never found one. I was unhappy yo pay the extra $1 to TRU but considering the effort and time spent looking for the Spartan, I think it was worth the extra dollar. Now I need a PoP Dustan figure so I can have my Spartan fight a Persian hehe.

So after someone here posted pics of the BM SW book, I have been anxious to get it. Barnes and Noble say that it comes out in November. I just found it at Costco, sorry non US people, and it is only $14.79. Not a sale price, just their normal price. They also have the Castle book. I figured I would post this here as it is SW specific.

New Custom Clone Trooper Helmets from Arealight
Solscud007 replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wow pretty cool. I womder if Arealight could make a decent Death star gunner helmet. -
perhaps the newer ones have this white decal sheet. I got my ATAT a while ago and it is clear.

Clone Wars Minifigures by The Clone Factory
Solscud007 replied to clonefactory's topic in LEGO Star Wars
where can I get me some of these upgrade parts? -
Ok I thought so. I was jus too lazy to dig out my ANH DVD and check. GO WITH YOUR INSTINCTS!!!! Haha.
-
To keep that pesky Luke Skywalker and his friends out. haha Also the skin is removable. the only anchors are at the extreme axis. Very much like the UCS DSII, I put axle hole 2x1 bricks at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 0'clock postions along the equator. Then the big belt gets pinned with a long dark bley axle pin. The slices of DS skin are hinged off the giant belt system. I can basically peel the DS when I want to play. or just un-pin the hole thing.

3D Printing: great opportunity or serious threat to Lego?
Solscud007 replied to Legoist's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have dabbled a bit in 3D prototyping. My friend and I developed after market upgrade parts for Transformer toys. We even went thru mass production. A small 1200 unit run of our upgrade parts. Anyway there are many different types of 3D printing processes. I have personal experience with SLA (Stereo Lithography). This is a tank of liquid resin. Inside is a movable platform that lowers into the tank. A laser heats the surface of the liquid resin and instantly cures that spot to solidify the resin. Like a printer prints in lines, most Rapid Prototyping "prints" in layers/planes. SLA lowers the tank as it builds each layer. There is a process called FDM which uses an ABS filament. The ejector head heats the thin filament to a degree above melting point and squirts out the liquefied plastic. It then cools and re-solidifies. This process is great because it is actual ABS plastics. However there is a caveat, resolution is not so great. you can easily see the build lines, the steps between layers. There are other types like metal printing that uses powders and then an inkjet head squirts a liquid binder to hold the powders together. Then heated sintering allows brass to wick into the crevices of the powder and become a solid piece of metal. I dont think we have much to fear from counterfeits from Rapid Prototyping. It is as if you are concerned that inkjet printers can print money. yes they can, but they are nothing like the real money. Rapid prototyping is merely a tool. Like an inkjet printer. It is not a substitute for actual manufacturing. However with the onset of rapid prototyping, it has become very accessible for people to develop their ideas and produce a very viable prototype and then find ways to manufacture them. Brickarms is a great example. He makes his own molds and uses a desktop injection molding machine. While inexpensive, it takes a bit of engineering and study to know how to develop molds properly. things to do with drafts and inlets so the liquid plastic has places to run and not get trapped and have air bubbles. More so, after market manufacturers like Brickarms and various other companies that are developing Lego compatible parts, should fear TLG filing suit against them to cease and desist. So is the way with Hasbro and all the 3rd party manufacturers. While most aftermarket manufacturers are based in China and that makes it hard to file suit, Hasbro can simply play hardball and have all the online retailers stop carrying the 3rd party products. Since most if not all of them are in someway a violation or infringement of Hasbro's copyright and trademark. -
Saw this at a random Toys R Us in New Jersey. The one thing that bothers me is that the air hose for the oxygen maks/tank is not made of lego elements.
