  1. This AT-AT is what got my into SW legos. I snatched it up when it showed up at TRU. couple months ago I lucked out and got the 2003 4483 ATAT for a really low price. There are aspects of both that i like. I feel that the 2010 model is sturdier. The 2003 is ridiculously fragile. I dont like how the head side panels lock into place. But the 2003 is bigger and looks better IMHO.
  2. nah, im just that good haha j/k yeah as the creator of the shot, i see the flaws. also i dont want to pretend that I shot the picture as is.
  3. Thanks. Sadly there is nothing I can do about the bkg. Trust me, I tried. Im either surounded by buildings, fences and/or trees. Here is the original. Im pretty pleased with the composition. its just the background is an eyesore. hence the photoshopping.
  4. haha yeah. But it belonged to my late brother. It is one of the best cold weather gear I got. Its Gore-tex. But im layered with underarmor, desert DPM top and thick fleece pants under the Goretex woodland camo pants. Oh also my brothers boots are goretex. The only part that is cold are my hands. I cant find my water-resistant gloves.
  5. Snow hit New York yesterday. I have been waiting for some real snow so I could take out my AT-ATs out for a spin haha. I photoshopped the bkg out. It ruined the picture. snow trooper testing out "new" deployment technology. This is the downside to taking shots in the snow. ATATs are very fragile and while trying to put the legs on the first gen ATAT, the under carriage fell apart. Here is me trying to put it back together again. It was cold.
  6. Great concept. But it is a little hard to recognize santa. Im guessing you used the naked showering santa from the Advent calendar? Also the lighting is a bit mute. Try playing with exposure and white balance. Try taking the shot again when the sun pops out. Here is one I took last year in Pittsburghs Blizzard. the sun is your best friend for lighting.
  7. yeah great shot. the only distracting thing, for me, is seeing the underside of the baseplate.
  8. actually Mater and Lightning are the two top selling Cars figures. Look at how many variations there are in the normal toyline.
  9. ahh yes, UV will make things fluoresce as well. try to find a wide spill floody light that can come one low. then play with the distance of the light to decrease the amount of light. You just need a little more fill light to brighten up the picture and really bring out some details. you could also try bouncing light off of a white piece of paper.
  10. Really? Santa as Darth Vader? Well im relatively new to Lego so this is new to me. Very funny. I like the Cloud City weather vane thingy.
  11. It might be the blue lighting. I know my blue lights can fluoresce some colors like yellow and orange. I would recommend adding a nice low-medium fill. The plate slope, I assume is the bank of the river of fire. is too dark. i can barely make out any detail on Anakin.
  12. Im having a bit of difficulty understanding the pic. It isnt very clear what the subject matter is.
  13. bastard children haha. I suppose i could have taken one of my spare chewies and shoved his torso onto wicket's legs. But I thought an ewok is funnier.
  14. I couldnt see but does anyone know which Luke, han and leia will be coming with the MF?
  15. Try a big curved piece of paper. it removes horizon lines.
  16. Very nice. I saw this earlier on my iphone. I ahve to say the picture confused me a bit at first. The small screen and dimmed brightness altered my first impression. The reflections looked like small specks of paint had exploded on the stormtrooper. Also it didnt look like a chrome stormtrooper on my screen. Just a normal white stormie. Now that I see it on my computer screen it makes SOOOO much more sense.
  17. Yes the gauntlet has been thrown down. You gotta step up and back up your statement. Best of luck!!!
  18. I originally started with the idea of Santa Palpatine entertaining kids. Parent get to bring their kids with a souvenir snapshot with santa. Then I just added more and more. Tarkin, two officers, Solo and Leia are sharing a giant "turkey", I like to think of it as a giant Xmas Tauntaun that they have roasted for Xmas dinner. With the help of a DS Gunner a senior officer has a smooch under the mistletoe. Clearly stormtroopers are having problems decorating the xmas tree. But an opportunist officer sets up a tree stand. Oh yeah I forgot to mention the Stormtrooper taking a break to roast a hotdog in the fireplace. Enjoy. Here is the image full size so you can see the details better. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  19. ignore this.
  20. I say make both. Sten for the history WWII buffs and the scoped version for the SW fans. either way, people will buy multiples to arm their existing armies.
  21. Boy I cant wait to see what the MF will look like.
  22. wow very nice kitchen. Is it MOC? I would recommend that you get the Ewoks from the Endor battle set. They have lovely printed faces.
  23. Well as per your comments and suggestions, I have revised my entry for the star wars xmas photography contest. Here is my official submission. I reposted my original picture for your enjoyment further down the page.
  24. Im really impressed with this set. I like how there are three little devices rather than just one mediocre ship like the clone trooper BP.
  25. Nice. I took some great shots. now to pick the right one and wait for the deadline. I hope I win something.
