"My path is mine to walk, half-kin. It is mine to pave as I please, and I choose to to pave it with gold."

"That's a rather unexpected coincidence - I'm a bit of a representative myself, of the Munchkin tribe - although nothing anywhere near so grand as being the Botschafter von Titaan must be. Extremely pleased to make your acquaintance." "No worries, Master Ambassador. If I might have a moment of hushed frankness between representatives, I'm fairly certain most of the Heroes are terrible at hero-ing."

"Sound interesting. Care to elaborate?"

The long version. The short version: After the Orc Wars, a tribe returned to their home village of Muncie to find it had been torched by retreating orcs. Renaming themselves the "Munchkins," an abbreviation of "The Children of Muncie," they relocated to the underground Forest of the Blue Pools, where they now focus on stock-piling eclectic knowledge instead of fighting. Not everything - they keep tabs on bigger events, but smaller events pass them by, and they only know the main facts about the bigger events.Like with Althior - Lind knew that there had been a betrayal of the Veterans, and he knew (probably from the Questboard) that there had been a necromancer on the party named Althior, but he didn't know any of the specific details of the quest. Lind's knowing about aliens was a reflection of some elements of a future quest chain I'm working on that has the Munchkins in several roles. It would have probably been better if I'd left that part of his background out, but it wouldn't have made sense in reflection. I was a little disappointed myself - I actually had the perfect quest to drop that on...

The horses seemed to have wandered off somewhere, or something to that effect, as she doesn't see them anywhere. The figure spoke softly, but with a very hard voice. "Throm-ka. I believe you know my business. My business is gold. The real question to be asked, is what is your business. Are you the welcoming party I requested? Are you some pitiful group of shop-keepers, trying to continue snatching for yourselves a share of the treasures of an forgotten age? Or are you some other group of no-ones, standing in my way for some reason - or for no real reason at all."

I'll keep that in mind, thank you. The irony is that I feel the opposite way as the "Cheeky, happy go lucky rogue" is such a common character that it feels a little bit flat to me because it's so common - but I can see what you mean. In future, I'm going to try and find a middle ground between the two of them. Again, as I've said, I get that it would "create conflict" - but I, for one, am sick and tired of characters always, making mistakes. Just for once, I wanted a character to have the mental strength to make, the "right choice" and not give into temptation. A., there's a lot of things going on here. I see what you mean to a point...to a point. Nowhere did Lind say anything that couldn't be reasonably hypothesized from what had been said in quest, or from a general knowledge of "aliens fly flying saucers". WBD made an excellent point in another thread about the difference between acting and RPing, and I was guilty of acting - but it was mixed with honest RP. My apologies. #130 had just come up, with the requirement that players be "strong of faith," and I thought it'd be funny. Thank you for the compliments. I'm looking forward to playing with Matthais again as well.I wasn't trying to go for a "chosen one" mentality - more that Lind, as a Munchkin, had the duty to kill any aliens he encountered - but I can see how it would come off that way. Again, my apologies, and I'll work on that. Thanks for sharing - I wondered what that was about. I assumed it was a reference to some previous quest I was unaware of. I see. I thought it was a reference to The LEGO Movie.

Dodekube. I originally mentioned it as a non-canon meta-joke in #122, but Lind's referenced it seriously several times since then. I know, but the only way to get to Salmanda and the resort so far seems to be on Sisters quests - and the requirements seem to be either "be strong in faith," or "be good at drinking and 'other things'".
-
Do the Sisters of Danub recognize the Dodekube as a valid religion? Because I'm really liking the sound of the Amenra Beach Resort...

The wind also blows swiftly. While some of the Heroes debated the finer points of diplomacy, and others prepared for battle, they missed the sounds of hoofs kicking gravel and sand down the canyon road. Five outlaws suddenly galloped down the road onto the canyon shelf! At their head was a man in a white suit, with a white hat on his head. His long brown hair and his hat shaded his face, so that the Heroes were unable to see what it looked like. What would the Heroes do?

"Best of luck, and don't let the bugbears bite." The Munchkin watched the witch leave, clearly having difficulties due to her pregnancy. He stepped closer to Matthias."Master Druid, I do hope you have some experience with birthing, because that witch is looking like she'll be due painfully soon - and a high-tension scene like the Fields is only going to speed her inner processes up..."

Is it just me, or is the far left Spy Bot build retroactively reminiscent of ED-209?- 23 replies

QM Note: He's not mixing IC and OoC. Warlen was claiming items before they were handed out. As I've said before, you're welcome to make your own suggestions as to loot division, but a character can't take items before the Party Leader selects the final divison. Warlen wasn't following this rule, and being a person who takes rules and traditions seriously, Vindsval did not approve of his actions. If I might make a suggestion as to division(since the loot is a bit varied in value), if Warlen really wants this particular loot item, perhaps he could offer IC to take a penalty against the rest of his share of loot drops from future battles in this quest?

The atmosphere here isn't the point, it's that search engines scanning the web for certain words and phrases don't "get" jokes. It is your choice whether or not to make such comments, I was only trying to be helpful.
-
QM Note: You were still making an action that you couldn't make yet. Also, due to my forgetting to add the cleric/mage req. when I created the battle, anyone in the party can equip the robes. Don't make presumptions.

Uh... I get that you're trying to be funny...But that's not the sort of thing you want to joke about...
-
The Munchkin shrugged and grinned. "When it's constructive. When it's just to gibe at people...well, not so much. But that was constructive."
-
QM Note: Loot Division is up to the Party Leader. You're welcome to try and strike a deal with the other players, but you can't just say something is yours.

Seconded. For the moment, while we get more organized, here's a Writeboard we can use:http://123.writeboard.com/i02wffdb0f4onqjqxxbima28 Password: heroicaspace (Google Docs would be better for the actual laying out of mechanics suggestions, but Writeboard would work better for the discussions over them.) EDIT: Oops. Fixed the link so it goes straight to the comments page, not the Edit the Header page.

Agreed - if nothing else, we should be careful how many classes we create. Half of the current classes only have one or two players playing. No fears - I expect that when Sandy runs out of story, the QMs will step in and keep it going for a long, long time. ^This.

Well, a few months ago, in plans for the eventual preparation of Herospace, I actually did some asking around as to what would go into the starting of such a project. Basically, we need permission from two different groups - the Eurobricks Moderators, and the specific permission(and the creation of a sub-forum) by whichever moderator covers the forum it goes in. (e.g., Darkdragon). How about Techno-Mage as a replacement for Mage? With abilities somewhere along the lines of Green Lantern.
-
Well put, and point taken.*Joins back up with main project.* But for my outlines and borders, before anyone else calls it, I call Dibs on . (Seriously.) *Not Future Generation, just Gen. 1. That is going to be a lot more calculations - and a lot more fun. (Although I pity all the/us poor QMs that are going to have to calculate all that.)
