  1. "Yes. Since we're a full, well-armored and geared party of six, I think we should go through the Fields by number, and we should try the "War" challenge - although we'll need to make doubly sure we pick the right targets at the start of each fight. My last party would have gone much further than we did, but we faced a few too many Bugbears in the Apple Orchard. I seriously doubt we'll be seeing the same problem here, though." Lind looked around, admiring the strength of the party that had been assembled. He equipped Aventine's Tricorne, and settled it at a jaunty angle.
  2. "Yes. It will have the negative effect of making me a bit more vulnerable, and if we didn't have such a good-sized party, it wouldn't be such a good idea, but we do, and it is." Lind hands Purpearl his Anniversery Medal.
  3. "Many thanks, Master Donauld. It is good to be back, even if so soon." "Thank you, I do believe that that would be useful. My Ethereal Decks - well, they have a certain meaning to me culturally, but after having to retrieve them so often last time, I have begun to wonder if they are really worth it." Lind accepts the Chaotic Whip. "I was looking over our skills, and I was thinking you perhaps might want to wear my Anniversery Medal, while I wear your Aventine's Tricorn? They are both immune to fire, so we would lose nothing there, and since, as one of our most skilled Heroes, you will likely be higher up in the battle order, the added defense would help diminish any damage you recieve." Ooc: I believe Sandy dropped our cards from our stats since we won't be using them here.
  4. Since saloon keepers weren't apparently able to hold funds for Heroes, the cloaked rogue watched the members of his party either form into a group, or make a final trip to the market. "All right, then. Let's go teach some bears some manners!"
  5. Can I assume/RP that Scheherazade keeps the gold for Lind, until Asphalt picks it up in the future?
  6. The rogue smiled silently at the list, and turned to the orc behind the counter. "Excuse me, Mistress Scheherazade, but could you give these two gold to the half-giant known as Vindsval when he returns? He was kind enough to give me a bit of a hand, and I like to pay off my debts as soon as possible.
  7. In that case, are we skipping the Z-mail system this year? I was planning on taking advantage of it to send Asphalt the couple of gold I owe him...
  8. "You know, I believe I'll sign up for that new quest as well. I sincerely hope all six of us are picked for the Fields(we'd make one of the best balanced teams to set foot in them), but if we aren't, it couldn't hurt to become skilled enough to train as a Black Knight before I go in again. Although, I rather think it would be best for all if the newer ones went a-present picking, whilest we head off to the Fields. But then again, I'm not a Voice in the Sky..." Lind signs up for #Quest 123.
  9. I'm personally looking forward to Greenpeace's reaction, when they find out LEGO's releasing a set that's a (former) oil rig...
  10. I thought that my quest was all but ready to go...until I realized that it was basically "Cool Loot Sidequests: The Live Action Movie." I think I've got the plot mostly fixed, but it still needs some work. And, I really need to balance the reward for the one sidequest I'm leaving in...
  11. What are you planning on doing with your neck slot, since you're at the top of the class structure? Or are you going to keep leveling up?
  12. "No, they do something worse. Far worse. Far, far worse. They shrill an ancient chant, a gutteral call, like no one could ever imagine... They scream... 'Yub Nub'"
  13. "Excellent! Yes, I've been to them once before. Quite a pleasant place, I must say - very lively, colorful fauna and flora, very pleasant, aside from those..." His voice trailed off, and he glared off at nothing in particular. "Teddy bears." He adjusted the sheet on the Quest Board. "Now that, is a FOG party," he said, with the tiniest hint of pride.
  14. "Yes - I had fairly strong teammates too. Our only problem was that our strengths worked against us. The cleric had just put one of the bears to sleep, and we had almost won before we'd started...when our excellent ranger got off three arrows, and woke up the bear." The rogue buried his face in his palm at the memory. "Ai-yi-yi...Ah, well." He waved his hand, indicating the rest of his new team-mates. "This team is ready to deal out the damage."
  15. "My honest apologies, I spoke without thinking." Ooc: Just for general reference, the term "Cave-hanger" is to Munchkins actually a rather polite term for a Vampire. Not so elsewhere, of course, but at least among Munchkins.
  16. So, Anti-Matter's backstory has been revealed. Granted, the subject matter in question are years apart, and themes that are only loosely connected by cameos and shout-outs, but still - a super-villian with the mind of a thousand criminals... It could just be me, but that kind of sounds like the sort of villain you'd put in a maximum security space prison... I'm hoping that the theme is left with an ambigous ending, a la Agents/Alpha Team, where the final battle is hinted at/started, but "it's up to YOU to finish it!" I'm afraid that they'll try to be clever, though, and have him fall back through one of his own portals, turning him "good"...and leaving us, yet again, with no one to fanonize as Omega. (I'm looking at you, Lloyd Garmadon.)
  17. "Actually, from his mace, I believe the Cave-hanger here is "one of those healing types" - although I am not sure of what domination...?"
  18. "That's the problem with the Fields - no hidden rooms, no traps. It's KO, or be KO'd, at its simplest." "You could tack a sheet onto the board for your own team, see if there are any other beginning questers. But, I do have to warn you - the Fields are typically meant for heroes with several quests under their belt. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try and dazzle us all, but yes, you'll definitely need a crowd or two to do much of anything."
  19. "At the heart of strategy, everything mostly boils down to putting your heavy hitters and those with good armor in the front row, and the healers in the back row. Try to crowd control the little monsters that will mob rush you. Heal up whenever the next round is going to leave you KO'd. There was once a good song about order...how did it go? *"*Warning, light to moderate language.
  20. I haven't noticed anyone using the Z-Mail Grogmas system this year - was that mechanisim cancelled?
  21. "I believe, in the long stream of conversation that is flowing past, the barbarian I was speaking to quite reasonably missed hearing my request. If the three of yourselves are interested in joining my group, you are not only extremely welcome, but I am quite certain the forces that control the Fields would find our group well balanced(whereas the barbarian was so skilled that she might have been considered unbalancing compared to our own skills at the moment)." Lind scowled slightly. "I presume, if you have not heard of me, that you will have heard of the master thief Arsene Lupine? You will not hear of him anymore." The rogue pulled his Darker Ethereal Deck out of his pocket, and gently felt the sharpened edges. "It was with these that he fell. And with his fall, I took his name...His strength...The fear that he created." "The Munchkins are the tribe of master strategist humans that disappeared into the Forests of the Blue Pools but ten score of years ago."
  22. "Mostly, just breaking the fourth wall."
  23. The rogue carefully tacked a page with his fellow FOG team members to the board, in case a returning or present hero felt inclined to join up. Never one to miss an opportunity when he could help it, the rogue approached the barbarian in the stylish black and red dragon armor. "Please pardon my interruption, but I couldn't help but notice that you also had signed up for the Fields of Glory. I happen to be in the process of putting together a bit of a team for them, and I was wondering if you might be interested in joining?"
  24. What country was the set from? Thanks to the wonderful work from Gary Istok, we know that in the early days, LEGO branches in certain countries operated somewhat independently of the main corporation. Maybe this was a case where a country didn't have the equipment to print on the torsos, so they used stickers?
