To be fair, Heckz is repetitive, in how often he's annoying*. If Lind ever goes questing with him...oh, boy...There'd be some PvP that trip... Agreed - he reminds me of someone in my family who is much the same way(just without the hot head part). One of the reasons he's one of my favorite characters to follow. *Kudos to Cutcobra, on your RP, by the way.

"Thank you for the offer, but I merely was waxing on the melody of the dramatic. It's a bad habit I have." "The one, and the (I'm sure my mother would say thankfully) only." "I didn't want to seem so presumptuous, especially in front of one of the more attractive(and clearly refined) Heroines."
-
Having temporarily concluded his bargaining with the half-demon, and noticing the attractive elven knight he had met before at the bar, the rogue quietly slipped across the room, and sat on the stool next to her. "I'll have what she's having, but without the wine." As he nibbled on his cheese, he turned and looked at her. "I believe your name, it was Annie, wasn't it?"
-
The rogue frowned. "A man's weapons are his arms, their edges his hands. I would almost rather leave you with my Medal, than my weapons. But, I have the two, and it is not entirely too much of an assumption that one or another of my companions may have a weapon they can lend me to booster my stock. Very well - if I am chosen, then I will leave my Darker Ethereal Deck with you - being a demon, I believe it might suit you the better than its twin, and I would not part from its twin if I could - those five cards are my very nature, my very being, all that I am, and perhaps all that I shall be, etched in so few droplets of faded ink."

OoC: Don't forget Matthias!

I am all for the idea, but I just thought of one way you could exploit it, without running into danger of killing yourself. Just attack yourself with a low-grade weapon. Of course, you could still hurt yourself pretty badly, but I think most heroes beyond level 15 could probably survive a self-inflicted WP:3 without much difficulty.

I move Throlar get an honorary single round of Hastened, just for being the first to actually show some human/dwarf emotion. That, and he's going to be KO'd almost instantly without it.

The rogue's face grew distant, his expression purposely vacant. "There are certain peoples in this world, who have been given certain...duties by their ancestry. And, it would be far better for, well, the fulfillment of said duties, were I more properly trained to fulfill them." "I was considering it as more of a temporary loan, since I would be paying you back with another Mushroom by the end of the quest - and, unless I misread your actions, you won't be needing to use yours until a after the quest is over, so you could only profit from the deal. But, you do make an excellent point in that what I'm offering in exchange for the loan is not a very luxurious offer for the action. What, could I pay you - in the future - that would make us both walk away from here fully satisfied?"
-
The rogue stepped across the Hall to where the local half-Demon was sitting. "Excuse me for the interruption, but I happened to notice that you have a Level-Up Mushroom in your possession. In the event that I am selected for #122, I was wondering if you'd let me borrow yours? Certain...reasons would make it much more preferable for certain...ends, if I was a Black Knight if and when I investigate these...thieves. The reward for #122 is another Mushroom, so I could pay you back in full, and I could pay you with a little bit of gold and some meads/potions up front, to sweeten your end a bit."
-
Is there anyone currently in the hall with a Level-Up Mushroom who would lend it to Lind, the debt be paid back in full post #122? I was planning on being a full-fledged Black Knight for this quest, for significant RP/backstory reasons, as well as the bettered attacks...
-
Best of luck, Flare!
-
"True, the odds seem to have been stacked against us both - if you'll pardon my jest."
-
The rogue shrugged. "I was eliminated in the first bracket."

Teen Titans.

The grey-cloaked rogue slipped into the bar, and across to the Quest Board, where he signed a name onto the sheet for Quest #122, just above the Mystic Knight's and the Battle Mages. He scribbled a small circle around the the three names, indicating that they were together as a party. He then walked across to the bar where the Half-Giant was sitting, and slid 3 Gold along the countertop towards him. "Thanks for the loan." He finally went, and stood by the Mystic Knight. "In the case that we are accepted for this incident of disappearing sheep, I was wondering if you'd mind letting me nibble on your Level-Up Mushroom? It would just push me beyond the requirements for a Black Knight, and I could pay you back with another Mushroom as soon as the quest is over."

Heroica RPG - Unlimited Quest: Fields of Glory
Lind Whisperer replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
OoC: Fine with me. "So...now that we have to lead the Fields, would you, Master Mystic, or you, Master Mage, want to sign up with me for that sheep quest, if it's still open?" Lind will not be spending any points*. *Bit of a shame, only one point away from a Decamodifier... -

Heroica RPG - Unlimited Quest: Fields of Glory
Lind Whisperer replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Lind receives his Medal and gives Purpearl back the gear he borrowed from her. Lind subtly digs in the field with his shovel. "All right, then - who wants bones?" After the loot division, Lind will also dig by the prize barrel again. Lind watched the druid quickly leave. "Bother it. That means we have to leave as well." He shook his head and turned to the Mystic Knight and the Battle Mage. "Ah, well...When we get back to the Hall, I don't suppose either of you would care to join me on signing up for a quest? There was one quest that was put up before we left, involving sheep. When I think about it, there were elements of it that I really shouldn't have let slip by me without investigating..." -

In 2007, LEGO released 9322-1: Town Developers Set under their Educational line of products. In 2009, a part of the set would cameo in LEGO's first non-Bionicle full-length movie, The Adventures of Clutch Powers. Find the red building with the LURPs used for roof pieces in the background... ...And spot it again in the middle foreground* - albeit grossly over-sized. (To compensate for the fact that almost all individual LEGO sets could fit in a cubic foot, many models in the film had their size significantly modified.) Being a fan of the film, and trying to use similar layouts and techniques in my own city, I am wondering if anyone ever purchased the set, and if so, if there were any sort of instructions at all included for this particular model? I am aware that Education sets typically don't have instructions, but I was hoping that there might have been an individual photo on a card or something, which would give me a better reference than trying to reverse-engineer** it through Bricklink's inventory. Many thanks for your time! ~Lind Whisperer *It's also in the upper left-hand corner. And it can be seen a few seconds earlier in the film when Clutch is driving towards the city. Interestingly, though, with the amount that the sets were reused throughout these scenes, it still has one of the lowest appearance rates. **After which, I'll have to rebuild it again, in more of a macro-bricks scale. But I would greatly like to have the individually built 'bricks' that make it up be in the correct positions.

I meant more the general idea of exploring an sunken underwater city, and was citing Atlantis as the stereotypical sunken city. Although a Dwarven Nautilus...there's an idea...
-
Someone needs to write an "Atlantis" quest, where the party visits a city that went underwater during the whole ordeal...

I don't know the entire known history of the Mercution incident, but perhaps it went something like this: Undersea volcanic vents slowly spew magma and heated gases into the oceans, superheating the water and causing massive cloud formation all around the globe. Volcanic activity on the planet itself begins to crack and break up the continent. The clouds cool off(possibly aided by the ash from the volcanoes), and begin to fall as rain. The magma keeps building up under the water, slowly pushing sea levels higher. The continental plate underneath Eubric slowly sinks, causing sea levels to go even higher, until they've nearly covered the (fairly small)continent. The rain finishes falling, leaving Eubric completely submerged. Eventually, volcanic activity pushes the continent up again out of the sea, getting ready to set a new cycle into motion. You know, I'm getting all sorts of ideas for quests...What if Mercution wasn't actually sunken because of the city's actions, but because of coincidental timing between the city becoming extremely evil and the continent sinking? What if this cycle isn't just continental, but globular, and is in fact the Norse Ragnarök, the world constantly being destroyed and recreated? The possibilities... And I just realized, after reading everyone else's posts, that I really need to check up on my Olegia geography... Just replace "Eubric" with the applicable continent name...

What is ideal for a Steampunk Airship hull?
Lind Whisperer replied to Yzalirk's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Those would work, but if you want inspiration, open this picture, and zoom-click in on the upper right hand corner. It's a beautiful example of an LEGO airship, one I've always wanted to recreate myself, but I never had the bricks nor the budget. It's half steampunk, half diesel punk(Or something very close to it, just in black), but even so, it's definitely worth a look. -
Actually, although I was not really impressed by Spinners, and even less by the Speedorz, if they do end up working like Rhotuka spinners, that could make for a very enjoyable game - provided the spinner can maintain at least three to four seconds of air travel and can be moderately aimed.
