  1. Ok Photobucket is back. Lets start the tour down in engineering a rig this size needs constant upkeep.. Next we head up to the main intake deck here we see the the driver (in red) and his co-driver in white behind the driver there are 3 medi stage 2 treatment bays, the droids will bring back any injured species they find Behind the co-driver we have 2 medi stage 7 storage lockers, also in view is Nostromo, the rig mascot Behind the lockers is the ramp upto the medi stage 3 area And in the rear of this deck we have a small staff galley. now we head up to the medi stage 3 area, this area is equipped with an operation theatre, 2 recovery rooms and a large waiting area and is staffed by 2 nurse droids and 1 doctor And that's about it for the inside. Just a few more exterior details left repair droids (ahem! cough cough!) are stored in the belly lockers and a better shot of the drivers It takes years of experiance to drive a rig like this but any newcomer can be a co-driver
  2. In my last post I showed a medi stage pod being delivered close to a war zone. On board the drop pod is a Med.E.vac mobile clinic.... I decided to get some close up pics of the clinic as it arives deeper into the battle zone. First both garage ramps are deploy the rear ramp is where the driod transporter is housed And the forward ramp is where the triage droids live the triage droids are medi stage 1 and leave without delay to sort the wounded Next the main ramp is lowered And medi stage 2 is deployed Medi stage 2 transports the parmedics to the site After a few moments of calm things start to get busy the first driod returns with a stage 3 patient It might be to late for this guy, maybe he should have used the droid porter instead yeap! he's stage 7, no hurry with this guy The ground crew kindly pose for a quick pic Later on we'll take a tour on board the rig it's self. but right now photobucket is acting up....
  3. Can someone add "MOC" to the title on my post http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=131476 Thanks in advance
  4. The shuntporters are the workhorses of the Vertillerexian fleet They are masive unmanned truck like vehicles tasked with collecting drop pods and delivering them to various locations in a war zone Drop pods have many uses. Today, this shunter has the important task of delivering a medi/stage pod to assist in the evacuation of wounded ground troups. Here is the shuntporter in transit Normally when a shunter reaches it location it will begin to deploy its cargo straight away, but with medi pods it must allow the mobile medivac clinic to deploy first. This way there is less delay reaching the wounded troups. Once the mobile clinic has begun operations the shunter can deploy the pod Now the pod becomes a fully operational field hospital Just another day in the life of a shuntporter
  5. Not all the bricks in the MOC are damaged (most are) I had to use some good ones here and there, some are only stained or have paint on them and can be cleaned if i really need them. The lion head arch is mostly good bricks trying to look bad. @Actor Builder....I can smell your MOC allready Can't wait to see the pics
  6. Just read the post Saberwing40k linked to, that guy wins at lego. copy him for the win
  7. I also remember building a cable car from technic when i was younger, It ran from my bedroom to the treehouse for a whole summer. I was a slightly moddified version of the instructions found in the technic ideas book 8889 page 111 http://lego.brickinstructions.com/en/lego_instructions/set/8889/rb No idea how to make it turn corners though
  8. I only knew about the wheel because i found one in a bulk lot that i bought and was only reserching it on bricklink today
  9. Is cheaper or more expensive if you bring your own handcuffs? nice seagull
  10. How was the clean out? It would be cool if you used some lego gold coins that get trapped in the waffles
  11. set 4090 motion madness http://alpha.brickli...ge?S=4090-1#T=I Much deeper groove in the tyre in that set than the technic piece
  12. Nice, very "boulevard of broken dreams" looking but what is that inside the right hand side window in the second pic?
  13. Check your local classified adds for bulk lots of lego, often you will find a lot of minifigs or minifig parts in the lot, my last lot (posted on here) cost €40 and had 30 or 40 minifigs in it.
  14. Very nice my only critique would be, having had 2 pet pigs in the past, there would be no green left inside the fence
  15. Hmmm!.. Now you've got me thinking.... I'm a diecast collector and have a few hundred 1:87 cars in my collection, maybe even some Lego/wiking cars small sample I have no space for a modern lego town but lots of vintage windows, doors and bricks... Plus smaller scale takes fewer bricks. ARGH! now look what you've gone and done
  16. Managed to pull another really nice set out of the lot Set 392 from 1975 Identified from the trans clear slope and red technic wheels Complete except for one white axle and stickers This one brought back a flood of memories It's the first set I learned to build from heart and i remember my younger cousin pushing it down the stairs, that was the first time I built a set without instructions. I was about 6 or 7 back then I loved this set back then, so happy to see it again.
  17. Cheers Guys I wasn't really sure if people would like such a mess of bricks or not. My first idea was hit and run aswell, with the usual ambulance and a fire crew maybe cutting a car open, but half way through making the wrecked car i needed a wrecked wall and one thing lead to another, Plus I'm a huge walking dead fan. I only used about half of my broken pieces in this MOC, some off them are hard to use because of damaged studs or the way they are warped. The yellow "hit by crane and plane tail" building is very unstable because most of those bricks won't clutch anymore, kinda like a jenga tower. the crane boom is helping it stay up. I have no idea how most of these parts ended up they way they did, except maybe the "bullet holes" on the white wall, that looks like a hot fork was used. But I'm sure some kid somewhere in the past had some distructive fun for a while. And this moc has given me lots of ideas on how to use "useless bricks", like.. Junk yards Garbage dumps/Trucks Demolition sites Burning building Abbandoned buildings Recycle centres ..And so on. So stop throwing out your usless pieces, they're not as useless as you think
  18. Recently i have being buying a few bulk lots of lego to help build my inventory of bricks. One of the problems with second hand Lego is there is often a few bits of damaged or weirdly stained bricks that need to be sorted out of each lot. In the last lot i bought there was some nice road baseplates but one was slightly damaged and stained with some kind of paint or maybe wood dye. Having nothing to lose i decided to use different kinds of chemicals to try and clean it up, but I only managed to make it worse and the brown stain turned more red in places Here's how it looked after cleaning the black dot in the centre is dust inside my camera lens and not on the baseplate Now most of you guys would probably bin the piece and move on, but I'm a model maker and we never throw out something we might be able to use later on, so I put it in my box of broken pieces to wait it's fate. then last night I had an idea Sure all the pieces in that box are broken, but they are not as useless as first thaught So this MOC was born It's set in some lego town, some time in the future, something bad has happened sometime in the past but we can only guess what that might have been.... All parts used where as i found them Every piece deserves one last MOC
  19. check out this guys video at around 10:08 the pier area, the building has a similar roof to what you are looking for
  20. Yeah I noticed when i was reserching the minifigs that i had a few parts from the 6291 Flag ship set. but only very few parts, Like 10 0r 12 pieces that could be identified as belonging to the set. that whole bag of lego was really dirty and sticky and stunk like wet dogs, my hands where filthy when i finished building the castle so the rest was washed and sorted straight after i was done with the castle, still have to wash the castle. so no helmets. when i buy bulk lots i keep them apart from the rest of my collection until I'm finished sorting them, the castle was the only set worth the hastle from that bag and i'm going to part it out after i wash it. It really is luck of the draw when you buy second had unsorted lots.
  21. So Lots more sorting went on over the week end and a few more sets brought back life. Loving the old trees Wrong baseplate on the house but the windmill is 100% correct and complete thats the set the old tubeless bricks are from. London bus complete but wrong colour tyres and one number 7 brick kind of melted The bus is meant to be a number 78 but I spent 5 years going to school on a number 87 bus but ours where orange not red Another taxi joins the rank Love the caravan. the fancy windscreen only appeared in 2 sets. 3 complete shell sets but i modded the service car. It should have stickers and not printed bricks. the bricks are from the fuel pump set but i'm missing one pump readout sticker for that set and the bricks look better on the car. Fire station, wrong baseplate ,Lego flag pole broken and yellow ladder missing off fire engine. Island Hopper complete with all assessories but no Minifig Group shot, the castle looks the right scale for my new old village Still reserching other sets this lot never ends. Oh yeah....the road baseplates came from the same lot, got 4 all together but one has some wierd stains that i tried to clean off but only made it worse
  22. That's a davit not a crane
  23. I need a bearing Like that, is that 3D printed? I have a (non lego) half scale astromech droid that i built a few years ago and was considering using lego for the internal mechs but I would need a 9 inch bearing for the head. Cool build but no angry face
  24. One reason for strange colours could be the switch over between normal colours or the end of a test run of a new die. I worked in a plastic factory for a while and new dies had clear run through them so the parts could be inspected for bubbles and voids. When the die is approved and a colour run started the old clear mixture left in the tubes would slowly over a few dozen pulls mix with the new colour until it became a solid colour. I remember making Black trans VHS cassette tape housings back in the day. It took ages untill they became soild black. The rejects where sent back to the grinder and added back to the Hopper on the machine but a few here and there got kicked under a machine or fell under the convyer belt and where found ages later when the run was long finished
  25. Well todays sorting was slighty disturbed by finding another smaller lot in local adds only 4kgs this time in a plastic bag. A quick look in the bag looked good and here it is after the first shuffle and sort Not hard to guess what kind of set most of the parts are from but which castle, I never knew there was so many so this is my first castle that i've built and it's King Leo's Missing the large 3D base and the green 12x24 base but it seems most of the parts are there No other buildable sets in the bag going by the leftovers But how awesome is King Leo Not a bad little lot, and all the old grey will be coming in handy soon I now return you to normal service
