  1. Very cool design and microbuild! Nice job of getting away from 90-degree angles.
  2. Clever extended archway over the door. Thanks for posting this!
  3. We know. We're working on it. Volunteer time has been at a premium of late.
  4. Yep, this. Corrington had a fairly effective blockade on one of the Sea Rat ports earlier this year.
  5. If all you want to do is build stone buildings in a settlement, the settlement doesn't have to have a quarry. If you specifically want to have a quarry, you have to have a prospecting build first (and strike stone!).
  6. At one time I would have argued for making automatic growth MUCH smaller, but keeping it. But now I think it just needs to be removed entirely. We've proven that the settlements can be built up quite large by player activity. There's really no need for the automatic growth feature. All it does is add to inflation.
  7. I think the answer to that was royal property group builds. I've been complaining about the rate of automatic growth privately for some time now. I agree that it's a problem, at least in how it affects the trade value and thus the MRCA. Oh, look. It's nearly October. Quite interesting. Thanks for presenting this!
  8. It's been on my mind. I try to change it up a bit each year. I'll have something come October.
  9. Excellent build! Nicely detailed throughout with minifig activity. The huts in general are the jewel of the build, with a nice variety in those shown, such as the wholly open-sided one on the right, and the window with awning in the left foreground. I particularly like the thatched roof effect. I think this provides a nice standard to aspire to in native builds.
  10. I'm always a sucker for a good forced perspective MOC, and this is excellent! My favorite detail is the transition in how the distant trees are built. Super!
  11. And that was the idea behind the formula: not to make it impossible, but to make it a consideration in ship building and raid tactics. Thanks for showing the math!
  12. Not really possible, or at least it wouldn't save any time. Figuring out the results of any raids isn't a big time sink. Getting the forms updated to where they need to be for future MRCAs, that's another matter!
  13. Stalled while we await the return of @Captain Genaro.
  14. I voted historical/realistic, but only because I don't consider it a mix with sailpunk. I do consider it a mix with some fantasy elements, such as sea monsters and the gods and such. And I think when the DaVinci type stuff is done well, it's a lot of fun.
  15. Per settlement. A settlement is able to produce only so many able-bodied recruits per month, regardless of who is recruiting them. Yes. Yes, that is a valid strategy. Nope. Currently there is no limit on how many troops each player may recruit in a month. Note that troops must start at their recruitment location, and a separate MOC is required for each. You might want to check with local mayors or faction leaders before recruiting out the entire COR troop resource for a given month, but technically you can do it. That said, time for leadership to start bricking up some loopholes...
  16. Stunning! Words fail me. I rate it 5 out of 5 monkeys!
  17. Finally the appointed hour arrived for Román Fontonajo, Eslandola's Grand Ambassador, to appear before the noble council and Archduke Oldis in the Great Hall. "Archduke, and all members of the noble council, thank you for hearing me today. Our nations fought the same foe more than a year ago, and while my nation won territory and a victory for the rule of law at sea, Terraversa won something far more valuable: its independence. This deserves our attention and respect, and as such I bring an official proclamation from Eslandola..." Román pulled a scroll from under his cloak... "recognizing Terraversa as an independent nation. It is signed by all members of our Colonial Council, as well as members of our Continental Council, and King Fernando-Augusto VII." There were murmurs among the members of the noble council. Archduke Oldis rose and asked to see the document. "The king has indeed signed it." The other nobles peered over at the signature. "And we have acquired property here to establish a permanent embassy, to show that our recognition of Terraversa's independence is not fleeting." After a pause for effect, Román continued. "Additionally, sir, I bring a special gift for you: a tiger -- feared beast of the jungle, not to be reckoned with lightly -- as a unique way to recognize your accomplishments." Just then a ruckus could be heard from beyond the doorway. "You'll forgive me if we don't bring the beast into the great hall; it is caged, but still difficult to handle." "You do me ... and Terraversa ... a great honor, Mr. Ambassador," replied the archduke. The other nobles nodded in agreement. "But I, er, Terraversa cannot be bought with exotic gifts. And in my experience even gifts are not free. What is it Eslandola wants?" "We want to make sure that the fruits of our shared victory are not wasted. As Grand Ambassador, I am empowered to negotiate treaties, although any treaty would need to be ratified by our colonial council. Members of our council have expressed interest in a trade treaty, perhaps to find a way to make our port taxes work together to both our benefit. Some members of the council have spoken for a mutual defense pact, to ensure that we both retain the spoils of our military victories. But rather than come into your great hall and tell you what we want, I prefer to ask you 'What do you want?' and begin a conversation that takes us down a path we are both happy with." Again there were murmurs among the nobles."So, what is it that Terraversa wishes to discuss with Eslandola? How can we help each other?"
  18. I'm not the form guy. @Captain Genaro, @Legostone, @Bregir, did we never get the raiding option added to the mrca form?
  19. Janszen was pleasantly surprised by the arrival of the Colonial Storm and Nightwing. They brought much news, including of the activities between the Sea Rats and Prio, and most importantly, news of other nations beginning to explore the New Haven Sea. Janszen told the captains of the rumors he had heard about island #6 (buried treasure form 200 years ago) and provided a copy of the crude map. Then he gave them orders to proceed to island #s 6 and 5, explore them, as well as island #4, and then report back to Director Guilder. And with that, the captains made their preparations and the Colonial Storm and Nightwing set sail for the islands to the east. --- The news of Carno's exploits in the New Haven Sea were quite helpful when Janszen's fleet encountered the distressed Carnorian ship stuck on a reef. Janszen ordered the boats lowered, and Eslandian sailors helped the Carnorians offload as much cargo and ballast as they could in order to float the ship off the reef. Then they set about towing the damaged ship into shore. Janszen learned that it was a supply ship coming back from delivering men and materiel to a Carno camp on the island known as El Oleonda, some 800 miles south-southeast of here. Now all the Carnorian ship had was enough supplies for themselves, really barely more than a skeleton crew. Janszen hoped the Carnorian captain could share not only info about the war against Lotus, but any useful info about islands between here and there. Surely they had learned something of the other islands. --- Meanwhile, some 600+ miles to the east, the Colonial Storm and Nightwing reached island #6...
  20. I love it! Well worth the wait. I'm a big fan of the combination of looks and playability. I especially like the stepped masts and the lovely stern. The tan tiled decks, furled sails, and view of the interior are all excellent. That dragon helmet at the bow and the head rails are good, too. Well done all around! One question: Did you mean to say she was captured in November of 617? November 618 hasn't happened yet!
  21. Willem Guilder took his evening stroll through the garden. Here he could almost imagine he was back in Weelond, but for some reason he was still in King's Harbour. However, his ship was on its way, and his extended stay on the Corrish island was nearing an end. Just then one of his aides caught up to him. "Here you are, Gov'ner. I was lookin' all over for you. I was told you needed me, but they failed to mention where you was." "Well, you've found me, so all is well." Guilder let the man catch his breath for a moment, then continued. "Please see to it that these orders are delivered to the Secretary of the Navy. We need to commission the sistership of the Long Beard into service." "Aye, sir," replied the aide. "I heard about her. 'Twas a shame the Long Beard went down, but I hear she gave Zublius Von Wreck what fer, taking the pirate's ship from her. Better than a fair exchange if you ask me." "Indeed, the men made good with the capture of Hades' Hangman. The crew of the Long Beard have had quite the summer. But there is no rest for them, as the Long Beard II awaits." --- Just a quick build for the sistershipping requirements, and it gave me a chance to play around with a brick-paved walkway. The sand green tiles may seem like an odd choice, but I think they work well. All C&C welcome.
  22. Fun build! (And glad to hear about the even-better inspiration; that must have been nice.) I did notice the lovely palm parasols. The challenged sandcastle cracked me up. And nice use of those Unikitty bases!
  23. OK, I see. I think "free license" might actually apply here, as you are not paying any extra for the license after acquiring it. Or @Legostone can do some magic behind the scenes in transferring the license and attaching the MOC link.
  24. I guess I don't understand the question. Specifics might help here. Or this might be a question for @Legostone or someone who knows the ship licensing form better than I do.
