  1. Fun little ship! I really like the hull shaping. More pics, please!
  2. Ah! I love the rigging! No complaints there. Not an issue at all. Yes! Very nice! Much improved! I really like this version. I like the dark blue bottom, but I liked the brown, too. I'm very interested in seeing a pic of the color version you describe above.
  3. First, I love it! 1) color scheme is good. No large fields of a single color on the hull. 2) not sure what you're referring to on the ship here 3) I like the cannons, but I don't like how they make the ship one-sided. There should at least be gunports on the opposite side. I think they probably make the deck a little crowded as a result, but that's not a big problem to me. Distance apart front to back is fine. 4) Anchor placement is fine. The bucket handles as anchors is clever, but feel a tad small. 5) fore deck color is fine. 6) I like the cabin. I don't immediately recall what you did for the Scalawag Sloop. 7) Tiller is good. Don't lose the cabin to try and force a wheel. 8) I like the rails. If you're concerned about too much black, this feels like a place you could add some color. Good luck with this (and the latest version of the Scalawag Sloop) in the BDP!
  4. I have to admit I forgot all about Octoberfest this year. I'd love to see everyone post an Octoberfest build for their own settlements, rather than in one central host city. If anyone wants to start a thread to collect them in one place, that would be great. And if there's a football tournament, the Weelond Regimentals will be there!
  5. Very nice! You definitely achieved your goal of getting some good curves into such a small ship. It has a lot of character. And the brick-built sails look good, too. Inspiring!
  6. I started to do an Eldorado expansion but never followed through, and it would have paled in comparison to what you've done! This is so full of activity; it looks lived in. Just a wonderful job!
  7. Great adaptation of the set to the Pirates theme. That could easily be an official Pirates set. And as others have noted, you did a great job filling it out with little details. I especially like the crab. Well done!
  8. You are correct about that! I was referring specifically to the Wolfpack entry by the same builder that has the Ideas set under consideration. There are certainly enough Wolfpack entries out there that we should get at least one, I would hope!
  9. I think the BDP Wolfpack set was pulled from the voting list, likely because it was already in review for ideas. If so, I think that would increase the chances that it is produced as an Ideas set.
  10. Wonderful build, good story. I do especially like the links to the background posts. And a definite to adding to the character and lore of Punto Sur. A governor has to do what he has to do.
  11. So much to like about this! Great details and parts usage throughout. The area rug is excellent! The only thing that feels off at all is the minifig head. If you could have done something brickbuilt to better fit the scale, that would have been perfect. But this is still outstanding!
  12. Love it! Great portrait, wonderful micro of the Andromeda, and the artist / (photographer!) in the rowboat is the cherry on top!
  13. Making the seas safe for merchants from the Lotus scourge! But because Eslandola is really just a collection of mercantile fiefdoms, only two of the wealthiest merchant kings joined in the fight. Although one of them surely had territorial desires. I sincerely hope they continue to exist in Era III. They are a must for such a seafaring game!
  14. I chose Armada Sentry because I want to see an update of the Armada soldiers.
  15. It occurs to me that a better name for this thread would have been Kraken Attackin'
  16. Nicely done all around. Good detail, populated with minifigs.
  17. Oh my! The seas are boiling! Or a new island is about to form right under you! Fun MOC, well executed. Best news I've heard in awhile!
  18. Ah, so it is. Good part usage. Thanks!
  19. Fun Twister spoof! I love the windblown effects with the hair, hat, and windsock.
  20. Great effect of the rolling sea! The build has a wonderful sense of motion! And wonderful brickbuilt hull and sail for the ship.
  21. Ah, a good ol' sea monster! Well done! Love the tentacles! Where does the tentacle piece that is actually grabbing the one sailor come from?
  22. FYI, this is how it worked in Era II, and it is a time sink. (I ran all the NPC pirates, so I know!) I believe the goal for Era III is to avoid the need for NPCs and concentrate on PCs.
  23. Alas, I think that was the biggest mistake in early BoBS: deciding that the Sea Rats weren't all pirates. It should be the pirate faction, IMO. Hopefully Era III will fix that in some fashion.
  24. I wasn't sure what the political status of that move was. If the intent was to return it to Oleon, consider it done, and your brother made some DBs on the side. Thanks, and thanks to everybody else who has left their kind words about my time as KPA editor. It was a blast!
