Heroica RPG - Quest #136: The Sorcerer's Stone
Yzalirk replied to Purpearljellyblob's topic in The Heroica Archive
Mhinak looks at the Guardians and frowns, "Inki fought valiantly and deserves a warriors' burial, nothing less. He helped save us all." "As far as I'm concerned, the Brown Nekrastone belongs to the Guardians, no one else." Mhinak says to the party. "Lord Fenari ya greedy son of a whore! Some of yer people just died and ya only care about the stone? Yer spineless and you don't deserve to be called a leader." -

OoC: It is fine, no need to apologize. This situation is awesome and definitely makes up for anything. Astonished by the huge possessed Toren, Mhinak grows angry, "This is not how it was supposed to go down, laddie! I wish there was another way. Yer goin' down ya filthy demon!" "Sorry Elnath, but we have to put him down. There is no other way." "Na'im, could you patch me up?" "This may be our final ride here, laddies, so lets do this! No rest for the wicked." Mhinak equips his Dwarven Portable Catapult and attacks Grand Priest Orein Ederot from Back Row with Inki. OoC: If I can do only one action, I will just equip the Dwarven Portable Catapult. -
That is why I say "robot or automaton". Automatons were used during the 16th century and even before. The only problem would be the type of automaton. Saying that a big fellow like that, from the picture, is a "toy" would definitely not fly. On the other hand, I think as decor for the front of a ship would do just fine. That is if I can build a ship (I was looking at parts to build the hull of a ship). You got me on the oil rigs but there are other means of obtaining petroleum. Who knows, some of the doctors may use petroleum for ! With Factories, I would have to see if there were any automatons built in the 16th century or before or I my character could be less of a cheap bastard and hire some people! I have a few ideas in mind for what kind of factories could be built. Also, I still want to use that leg for aesthetics! I think me using the term "capitalist" was a bit stupid. I meant entrepreneur but the word could not come to mind at the time. I kept looking around to get a better understanding of the economy of Corrington but I could not find anything so hopefully they would be willing to accept an entrepreneur.

The most outlandish thing I had in mind would be some sort of robot or automaton enforcer or companion for my main character with a pirate-like aesthetic. I was thinking along the lines of this but with some adjustments, so as making the left arm the same as the right and making him look less "high-tech", if that makes sense. Other than that, I was thinking about making some oil rigs and factory things. I was also thinking about using this right leg. The story behind it would be appropriate. As a character, I want to go along the lines as a big-money sort of guy, kind of like Andrew Carnegie or John D. Rockefeller. I might have been playing too much AdVenture Capitalist for this inspiration.

I do not mean that lasers weapons would be created but more specifically elements inspired from the Steampunk genre. I think that would create a nice balance between the realm of BoBS and industrialization.

I am pretty dead-set on Corrington especially because they like Science and I think there is a lot of building opportunities with them, especially if the technology in the realm can achieve the Science-Fiction vibe. Also, the use of red is a nice touch.

Mhinak shoots Na'im a dirty look, "I take it he's never heard of imports or the black market?" Mhinak questions. "And speak for yerself. I don't see a point in fighting when I'm trying to help prevent it. I know we're supposed to have yer back and all, laddie, but when yer trying to start a petty bar brawl, I'm not sure if I can help back you up on this." "General, excuse my friend's insubordinate language, he is speaking out of his big behind about fighting." -
I am thinking about joining Corrington some time in the future but I have a few questions: -Does your builds have to include a ship? (I do not think I can build ships.) -Does your character have to be a specific heritage? (For example, in Corrington, would you have to have a British character?) -What jobs can your character can choose from? -Can you also have multiple jobs? (For example, could you be a Merchant who is also an Inventor?)

Heroica RPG - Quest #136: The Sorcerer's Stone

Mhinak turns to the party, "The more it is talked about, it seems like the Fenarians are the ones who want to possess the most stones for their own benefit. Lord Fenari wants to the use the Red Nekrastone for war whereas Latte Oswain wants to keep balance with them. I actually believe Oswain and I think we should give the Blue Nekrastone to them and, of course, the Brown Nekrastone to the Guardians. Things here will at least be in some balance again." "General, I agree that these powers should be balanced out and I intend to help see it through. I don't want to even think about what'll happen if one person controls all stones. I'm in favor of yer plan but if they wish to live on the surface, you should let them. It'll be much more easy to keep them at bay when they aren't on their playing field." "Lord Fenari, if you think a real leader just turns waste into gold, yer a fool. A real leader is loved by his people and doesn't keep the wealth for just himself. If you make so much gold, than why is it yer people still starve? Ask yerself this: do yer people like you?" Mhinak asks Lord Fenari. "Also, you don't decide what happens to the Brown Nekrastone. It belongs to the Guardians, not you or the Star Elves." -

Mhinak steps aside for Marx. "I'm quite curious, exactly what have the Fenarians done to sin, Latte? I read only small bits of history about them but I don't seem to remember all the details. Surely you can shed some light on this matter, after all, you experienced it first hand." "Lord Fenari, perhaps if you try to make peace, Krimwood would be less harm to you and yer people. I understand that you do not wish to put your people in harm but I simply cannot allow for Krimwood to be destroyed. I also don't wish to see the extermination of yer people either. Work with me here." "Same goes with you, General. I also do understand that you see the Fenarians as sinners, even traitors, but try to work for peace. The Fenarians are people too, even if you don't want to believe it. They share similar problems as yer people. You seem to be the only one who doesn't want to try at peace, or at least working for neutrality." -

"Well said, Miderun, I don't think anyone could have said it better." Mhinak then gives a nod of approval. Mhinak talks loud enough so that everyone can hear and hopefully get the point across. "Na'im, there can be peace between the Guardians, the Star Elves, and the Fenarians. They need to give it a chance. This hatred between each side has been going on for far too long. Before my time, my kin were split into different clans because of different beliefs. War raged underground for many generations between the clans. Many of my kin had been dying and for what? Eventually, they had formed alliances through diplomacy because each clan had different things and skills. Of course there are still conflicts between the clans today but for the most part, they live in harmony. All I'm trying to get at is that this can happen here if General Oswain, Lord Fenari, and the Guardians set aside their differences and work to make Spesialia great again and not divided and war-torn." Mhinak addresses General Oswain, Lord Fenari, and the Guardians. "What say you? Shall you set aside your differences and end the bloodshed between your people? Shall you try to make peace between each other?" -

Mhinak speaks to the Guardians. "I get that a lot, Marx." Mhinak grins. "I promised that you would get the Brown Nekrastone back, despite all the obstacles we had to overcome. Star Elf General, Latte Oswain, was one of them. He was prepared to strike me and my friends down despite the fact I told him I was on a mission from you. Some other Star Elves rescued us and since then, Latte has been tracking us. We went to a Star Elf prison to find many prisoners, some of which even were my kin. We helped many escape and found Eckmar. Now... now we're here." Mhinak sighs. "I understand you all are allies of the Star Elves. I believe you should leave the Fenarians alone, this is a conflict between the them and the Star Elves. I just wish there was a way the three of you could live together in peace or at least neutrality." Mhinak then turns to the other heroes. "If we are to make final decisions, we should give the Brown Nekrastone to the Guardians, they deserve it over the Star Elves and the Fenarians. Krimwood's fate depends on our decision today. Without that stone, Krimwood will slowly wither away and die along with all those who live there. By giving the Guardians the stone, they will begin to mend all the harm that has been done to it." He then turns to Lord Fenari. "I promised the Guardians that I would help them get the Brown Nekrastone back and I intend for that to happen. I know you don't like them because they are allies of the Star Elves. They see you as filth, people who wish to desecrate their home. Prove them wrong, help them restore Krimwood. This would be the beginning of fixing relations with the Guardians." -

"Na'im, whatever happens, I'm here. Let Elnath make the decision, he has both the stone and the seal. I respect whatever his decision is. People will continue to get hurt if he still has the items. This is our final stand." "Lord Fenari, I'm curious to know, if you get the stones, what will become of the Guardians?" -

Somewhat motivated by Elnath's speech, Mhinaks responds, "Don't get all mushy on us, laddie. I respect yer decision, whatever it may be. I believe we should just handover the things to Latte since the seal seems to be of his kin and the stone, well... why not? No matter our decision, people are going to get hurt. Latte also mentioned protecting the Guardians. I no longer wish to run." -

Mhinak looks down at the dead weresnake, "And I thought you smelt bad before..." He then turns to the heroes, "There's no way out of this, lads, we have to fight. After this, we deal with the stones once and for all."
