  1. @TinCan Looking at all your recent postings, this is the best, quite impressive. A lot of people make a layout thread, & you’re in the right section. Also, Instagram is a great place to go as well. A lot of great builders & inspiration there.
  2. It is a bit underwhelming, but overall I do like it. I wonder why they chose this price point instead of going higher so they could’ve added more to it. If I can get caught up with what I want that’s ahead if this, I’ll definiteky pick it up. I love the car the most.
  3. Theme looks like a lot of fun. Each set is full of great stuff. I like the two kids. Their headgear is especially awesome...hat/hood combo. the ghost dog is fantastic. Ironically, I like how their phone tiles have prints of the ghosts, but I hate the app association...
  4. April 11th?! Wow...that’s gotta be a painful wait. That seems to be a regular thing. The guy with the Blacktron shirt is also seen in Batman & Ninjago. As is Kebab Bob. The reporter who asked Batman what are you going to do with the rest of your life is sitting on a bench early on in the first movie. Just to name a few. Clearly they have terrible luck picking cities to live in...
  5. Ah, I see now, I misread that bit. Oh yeah, it’s definitely more fun to imagine them as friends instead of kids who bought the same sets. It just expands on the universe WB is building here. I’ll have to watch Ninjago again. These movies are like a “Where’s Waldo?”book.
  6. I don’t remember seeing Officer Toque in the first one?! Drat...now I have to rewatch it for the 9,000th time. Having those other characters show up does make you wonder about the relationship. I suppose both kids could simply have the same sets/minifigs(although they did use the old Ninjago look for nameless Lloyd). Or we’re overthinking the connection & the team just thought it’d be fun to put all those characters in. Looking back, you also said the double decker couch was in Ninjago, where? I swear...there’s so much stuff going on in the background it’s hard to see it. I finally saw in the background of Batman, Polka Dot Man was in the background pole dancing...of all things. When the Joker was wallowing watching Superman talk on TV.
  7. Haha, yes, not quite as detailed as your buildings. A little change of pace every now & again is good. That’s a pretty great idea, a wedding gift. Even if you’re not fans of the brick, I imagine anyone could enjoy this particular build. Especially those who just celebrated their first dance.
  8. Got this little set after seeing the movie. Has great characters & Chocolate Bar was a fun build & love,y prints on Ice Cream Cone.
  9. Gonna dig this guy back up... Got the newest run of Dragonball Z Pops! today, in groups. Early morning run to B&N I got Android 17 & 18. Went back later to get Goku, Videl, & Yamcha & Puar(had a BOGO 50%). The absence of King Kai was hurting my collecting heart...but managed to find him on Walmart.com, after searching other sites. He was the one I wanted most, so yay!
  10. Pretty ingenious design there. The dress build looks great as well.
  11. Wow...a lot of stolen sets...
  12. These are all great, overall. As most have said, the drone can be a dino’s chew toy... but everything else is great there. Another Triceratops is always welcome, & the set it comes in is a nice starter pack for building the park itself. Jeep & trailer are cool. The recolored husky is fantastic! And, uuuuuuuhhhhhhh.....Mecha T-Rex?! Yes please! That thing is awesome.
  13. I partly agree. The vehicle is definitely a strange one...my opinion of it did get a little better once I built it. But the minifigs are fantastic. That bat variant is a highlight & the Talons, while not outstanding in details, are a great addition to the DC line up.
  14. For those wondering if Ninjago is a part of this universe(pretty sure thus was previously discussed here...)
  15. Saw the Lego movie 2 a second time Wednesday, going again tomorrow(free tickets, yay!)
  16. Haha, now that you pointed it out...I don’t even see the fangs anymore.
  17. It’s the 80th anniversary this year...maybe that’s it? I rolled the dice with an order from S@H & threw one CMS into my order...got Vest Friends Rex. I already had the majority of the series, but didn’t have him.
  18. It would be ridiculously repetitive, but I’d love to see all of them, Harry, Ron, twins, in their letter sweaters.
  19. Yeah, I was considering(still kinda am) getting the “box o’ bricks”Queen set. But once I got thus & saw the secondary build, I don’t I will.
  20. Kebab Bob also shows up in Ninjago, when Garmaddon initially attacked & the pilates guy isn’t standing on the rubble, Bob is off to the left behind some yellow signage. Blacktron Guy was also seen in Ninjago, getting off the bus. Pretty sure there’s more. Been watching all three on repeat for awhile now leading to the Second Part. A lot of citizens show up in the others.
  21. Wyldstyle’s face is exclusive here which I’m fine with. But they used her body from the first one, which is weird because she never looked like that. The pants were always the one from the Systar Starship & the scarf was always there. Everything else about the set is fantastic. I was even surprised to see the Queen has two builds.
  22. It’s weird they gave us the plain Wyldstyle. I’m fairly certain she had the scarf on & the pants that she has in the Systar Starship set. I love the set though. It has an otherwise great assortment of characters.
  23. These all look great, but the spa set does seem to be a bit too pricey...still a great set. I’ll echo others on Batman not having the fuzzy cape is a bummer, the couch looking better than the mech, & the weird sized builds for those characters in the Palace. I do really like the character builds in the spa set, especially the cat.
  24. Yeah, as a collector it would be nice to see more variety. From the business perspective(as MAB said) it’s smart. X-Wings will always be fashion, much like police/fire in City. I would like to see the bigger sets as well, it seems like every few years we get one. Over in the SW section it was mentioned awhile back that it would be nice to see Jango’s Slave One again. It’s been about as long as the Tantive IV. In the Superheroes department, it’s nice to see Marvel(and now DC with Shazam) branching out with relatively unknown characters, it gives us at least one set the break up the usual. I’d like to see more buildings/facades & less vehicles too.
  25. I could somewhat agree with you on the Superheroes front. I don’t know your reasons, but I imagine it’s similar to SW complaints of too much of the same thing, in this case, Spider-Man/Batman. It’s understandable as they are both well recognized characters that sell...but with Marvel really branching out with the likes of Doctor Strange, Black Panther, & Captain Marvel. It’s just a shame we don’t get more from these movies. I do enjoy the theme overall, just some sets are rather....blah. That being said, I wouldn’t want to see it take a break. Wish they would mix it up.
