Yeah, I’m not sure where it would be best to put them. They’ve kind of missed their chance for sets since Yule Ball was this year. Although we are getting a Time Turner moment by getting Privet Drive next year, so who knows... You could say that about any spots though. Take this year’s calendar, if we got them, chances are we wouldn’t have gotten the Christmas sweaters variants. If we get them in sets, they’ll take the place of two other minifigs. However, I would agree to preferring them not to come in a CMF series, as those are less frequent than other HP sets where they could come. And wouldn’t make their inclusion feel like such a big hit to other characters.

Still need the Patils though...or did I miss that they’re coming? Also, this hole is another great argument for generic house miinifig packs. Similar to what they’ve been doing lately with those minifig shaped blister packs, give us four random House students & even a little build for classrooms or common rooms or whatever. I’d imagine even kids would like be to populate their castle with a bunch of students from each house.

That thought was mostly towards this topic, Classic themes. I’m on the side of those who would love to see them return, as I have fond memories of all three. When I got back into LEGO in 07, after buying the two Modulars, I went straight to eBay & bought nearly all the Forestmen & Ninja sets. We don’t know why they’ve chosen to not make new iterations of any of those. I’d say they’re doing a great job of making tasteful & pleasing sets. Naturally they’ll appeal to some more than others, as with anything.

I’d say both could be true. On a whole, AFOLs matter very little as *broken record* we’re a small percentage. At the same time, as you said, TLG wants to keep its existing customers. They have to keep us wanting to buy because they know, despite our overall value, we keep coming back. I’ve now been back into LEGO for 13 years, I’d wager that’s longer than the average kid stays with the toy. If we didn’t matter to the company, would they really be holding AFOL days at their stores? That’s not entirely fair. Sometimes our wants simply don’t line up, for whatever reason, with the company. Classic themes, we know how well they would sell, as we would gobble them up in a heartbeat. But I’m guessing someone at TLG knows better than we do on their market. We’ve gone round & round on Police & we both agree that it’s too much. But it clearly must be a great seller, otherwise we wouldn’t be seeing it all the time. Having something else in its place, like some sort of explorers subtheme, wouldn’t sell just as well. His area probably. It’s the same for me. I couldn’t even tell you for sure if they sell Playmobil. I know they don’t have a big presence. There is a small section at the very end of the LEGO aisle that has other brand things, like blind bag pouches...that may be Playmobil. But I barely pay it any mind.

Is LEGO Entering Another Experimental Era?
Vindicare replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hidden Side is far from pointless. I have quite a few sets & never once even thought of getting the app. The sets I have, graveyard, boat, shack, bus, & buggy. The builds have been what you’d expect from LEGO, nothing was affected because of the app side of it. Some stupid for the set color choices, but that doesn’t take way from the build or set. The minifigs have been especially great. The possession aspect is very cool & well done. They’ve given us some great new parts & prints. Can’t really fault TLG for the move, those damn phones are an extension of too many folks these days. As you see above, I don’t think the sets are missing anything by not having the app attached to them. I reckon it may be harder to persuade a kid to just play with a LEGO set when they know that particular set has an app that will enhance the play of it. -
Nice work. I really like the rock work & other landscape bits. Looks like there’s a switch on the bottom there(black 1x1 rounds) what’s it do?

This isn’t fantastic! I love the entire thing. The hearts look great & really frame the scene. I love that you used Jacob & Queenie, their story in the first one was one of my favorite parts of that movie(the sequel....not so much).

Two great updates! I can’t wait to see this crazy food truck the Treads are building. That’s a pretty neat arch build too.

Great job! It looks awesome. I like how you integrated the minifigs into the base, makes for a cool display piece that way.

Street Artist Paints a Bridge in Germany to Look Like LEGO Bricks

That’s very cool! I bet it’s quite a sight to see. Pictures probably don’t do it justice. -
There’s a rather old now thread about this very topic in the General section, about both movie & TV. I always love seeing LEGO in stuff, it’s a fun little surprise.

That’s crazy...how does something like that get past inspection? Weight wise, was there something in there that shouldn’t have been? Picked up a few of the DC CMF’s, the most wanted ones...Bat-Mite, Green Lantern, & The Flash.

I just didn’t like how he approached this. Of course they’re going to look similar, they’re based on the exact same vehicle. I can see plenty of differences in yours & his. Inspiration is a part of life, no matter what. People see things they like, so they use it themselves. Unrelated to LEGO but many moons ago when the video for Usher’s song “Yeah” came out, that camp Atlanta Braves hat flew off the shelves...at a store here in Cali. Even he said his van is based on a MOC he saw years ago on MOCPages...
-
@kevin8 It’s not like you got the idea, I’m sure there’s a fair number of that van on any of the LEGO related sites. Of course it’ll be similar, you’re all creating the same van. Taking cues from ones any person saw is probably commonplace. That doesn’t mean the build he did isn’t his. It’s a popular van from a popular show.

Wow, everything about this is fantastic. I love the water, both the colors & the splash from the serpents. The serpents are equally great. Very cool designs.

The designer of the LEGO Minifigure has passed away.

I agree. I think the simplicity of the articulation really make it something special. As do the irregular proportions of it. The new parts, like the different sized legs, make it better. But, it would still be perfect without them. As weird as that sounds. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion

That’s what I’m hoping for. I have zero interest in the Diver minifig so I hope that turtle shows new up in BaM stations. Multiple animals have. Some even being the exact same. I would say the Rocket Girl could easily be a scientist. -
Oh dang! I missed that one. I reckon it makes sense, they do love their bananas.
-
I’m loving the Kung Fu set(three banana colors- two new ones even) & the buildable Minions. Will likely for sure get the Kung Fu, have to see about the buildables.

My love for the minifig has grown over the past few years. Both with the fantastic prints & expressions we’re now getting, but mostly thanks to social media & seeing all the brilliant photos I’ve seen of people bringing them to life. I also hold quite the fondness for those Classic themes. When I returned to LEGO, after buying Cafe Corner & Market Street, I ran to eBay & bought nearly all Forestmen & Castle Ninja sets. A huge thanks certainly goes out to him for genius. Something so simple as a small figure with a littler articulation. Who knew it could bring such creativity & joy(and some frustrations at tracking down those sought after ) to millions of people. And also help people get through tough times & bad days. -

For the drone, yeah you can. If you look at the picture on Brickset on the homepage of the article, you get a good angle on the drone. It’s that new-ish gun from the Overwatch theme. So the bottom of the actual drone will have room for a stud to lock into it. That’s great to know & something I hadn’t looked at until I read your comment. -

Loving the Razor Crest even more now. It’s great that The Child can sit with him in the cockpit. It would’ve been nice to get a speeder bike though...that poor trooper’s gonna have to walk in the desert. -

Yep...I hope we get them in consecutive series’. People will bitch one way or the other, so I hope we get a full team sooner rather than later. -

Bbbrrroooooo... i also hold a soft spot for the Red Ranger fella. I was a huge fan of MMPR growing up, so anything close to that is a win. No way, that is Daniel for sure. The hair & headband are a dead giveaway. Im pretty thrilled with this series, if more for the parts than the overall minifigs. While I don’t personally care for drones, it’s great seeing an actual sized one after those gigantic things plagued City recently. Love the new animals. Most of the prints are awesome. So glad to see Hermione’s hairpiece in a new color.
