  1. Wow, those are both great sets. Definitely will pick up the Post Office, I love the new torso on the blonde woman, with the scarf. It's too bad they add some blank torsos in these sets though, although I suppose they represent sweaters, which don't always have a print. Another great addition to the new winter sub theme. That VW is mighty impressive too. All the details are superb. I wasn't planning on getting this, but now... I may have to.
  2. That's a great, action packed scene! The walls are a nice touch and there's so much to look at in this little scene, nice details.
  3. What would make you think Lego needs to change their strategy to attract new fans? Is their current strategy failing? Has Lego not seen the profits/sales they expected? Or, are these more assumptions?
  4. 2. Do you know this for fact? Or are you just assuming. They've had plenty of licenses at one time in the past. Who says it's dead/dying. Sure, we haven't heard yet for next year, but that goes for all themes minus SW(which is only the case due to Comic Con). Otherwise, we haven't heard any solid news about SW either.
  5. Definitely. Some of the accessories that have come with the CMFs were a big shock to me, and all the great new hairpieces. Again, now that we have the horn piece for Darth Maul, that opens up new hair molds for balding men.
  6. Well, if you like/have/want droids, Windus JSF is good since you get 2 STAPS. I know a lot of people don't care much for them, but I like them, and his is alright. It could use a little more color though. The Jet Copter is an awesome set, very cool copter and a fun build. The figs are cool. I looked up 3858 and 2232. I'm not into the Lego games, but 3858 does look pretty cool, as does 2232, which I'm also not really into. Don't have 2254 Mountain Shrine, but it doesn't look like too bad a set.
  7. Exactly. My response was to the post I quoted. Saying that Lego is first and foremost a childs toy and...whatever else, scroll up a few posts to where I quoted him.
  8. Very Market Street-esque. I like all the details you put in this. The big file cabinet, and the big brown fence(you don't see many like it). That cells a bit cramped. Don't you think?
  9. That's one cool buggy. I like the cockpit/roll cage. The suspension is spot on, as is all the other details.
  10. Very nice start. As for the loading ramps, dark red would be appropriate. And, as for the back, I'm not sure the name, but the 2x1 hinge pieces the "click" together, the end has two prongs and the other has one. Then attach some plates with a sloped edge, like on 2507 Fire Temple from Ninjago roof pieces. That way you can tilt the plates in slightly to get the angle desired(looking at the model picture you posted). Hope that helps!
  11. Pretty impressive collection, but why is Wald with the Jedi?
  12. Wow, that's really cool. I like the original letter best, although E is cool as well. I like the 3rd pic(side view)the best. Well done, and good luck in the contest.
  13. Very impressive collection there, but correct me if I'm wrong... There haven't been 2 Shaak Ti or Onaconda Farr minifigs?
  14. I got a good chuckle out of this one. Nice one.
  15. What kid could afford the UCS MF when it was available anyways? Or any UCS, for that matter... I know when I was a kid, there's no way I was going to be able to buy a $400-$500 set, much less my parents letting me.
  16. I don't really like the idea of 2 factions in one. It really is for selfish reasons(to a point). I mainly focus on having a clone army, so if I buy a BP and it has BDs too, which I'm not opposed to, I have to buy twice as much to get the amount of clones I got in one box tis and last year. But, from a kid perspective, it will be good to get both sides. Although, the battle won't be very long with only 2 troops per side... I also like the 2 CWs sets in the first half, bulk up my Clone force.
  17. Ah, thank you. I suppose I mentioned two types then. I was referring to the figs Lego builds and has in their theme parks and such.
  18. Although this is now a moot point, referring to the mailbox in GE leading into the next modular being a post office; which was obviously not the case. Anyone remember this red boxes in the GG? They weren't storage lockers. Plus, the Pet Shop ruined the theory of clues anyways, I'd say. I'd like to have a Lego store. What would be better in a Lego town, than a Lego store! They could take cues from the MOCs here, vie seen some very detailed ones. Can't remember who it was, but they even had the black shirt, yellow aproned employees and used 1x1 technic pieces coupled with trans clear rounds for the PaB wall, it was fantastic. Also, I'd like to see 3 buildings in one set of live/work units. Below, would be retail, such as a candy store, little restaurant, office, etc. Then a little studio apartment above. But, everything Lego has released thus far I have ordered immediately and will continue to do so. I love the buildings and the builds are always(although sometimes repeative)fun. And I will continue to buy what they release as long as it lives up to the standards of it's predecessors.
  19. A good model to use would be the midiland(totally forgot what they're called ). Check with member M<0><0<DSWIM he does excellent figs in that scale.
  20. Yeah, that is definitely a job well done, despite not having the lettering.
  21. That's great. Instantly recognizable(which is sometimes a challenge). I like the windshield and the fact that the doors, hood, and trunk all open. All the details are there, that could be recreated in Lego, of course.
  22. That's awesome, burned that dragon(and a few trolls)for good measure! Very cool.
  23. Well said. I like the set myself. I guess I'm just not a rabid fanatic who expected this to be a picture perfect Hoth base as seen in previous ye...oh wait. All you have to do is look at it for what it is, a condensed version of the base. Is there 80 seats at the command center section? No, but if there was the right amount and the med bay was as it should be, and the crane was big enough for an X-Wing and there was room for a snow speeder, you'd all be griping about how expensive it was. No set is ever going to please everyone. There's always going to be complaints about the accuracy, price, what minifigs are in there, design. I still think it would've been cool if they made a modular base. Using technic beams/pins to connect the sections. Release sections, say on an 8x8 baseplate(maybe bigger?) that way each section could be relatively bigger and have more details, but I suppose that's neither here nor there.
