It must have been very difficult to keep this under your collective hats :) I'm amazed at the size and level of detail of this one - I've not generally been a fan of the construction genre but the realism of this one calls out to me. Great work by Blakbird & NYChase! :D

Hello from another Australian Lego fan! I'm mostly into Technic and have recently started building the very cool F1 MOCs that RoscoPC has put together. I've already finished the Lotus 79 and have just about completed the Tyrell P34. I'm looking forward to sharing my builds and getting tips from this great community!

Cool car! I like how you repurposed a pistol as the exhaust... and the use of the rubber band as a motor reminds me of the old pull-back cars I had as a child. You should make a few more 6-wide designs to show off...

I'm now starting to gather parts for the McLaren MP4 - this Lego F1 building is an addiction :) I may have also just purchased a Unimog to act as a "recovery truck" hehe

Nice! I just scored an 8110 for $270 so I'm pretty happy (it's my first 8110 so I'm eager to build/mod it!) Those prices for the 42008 and 42024 are decent! Were they retail or off BL?

I can only speak from my experience in terms of costing - given that I'm in Australia things like exchange rates and shipping make it a very expensive hobby :) So far I've built the Lotus 79 and the Tyrell P34 (by far may two favourite F1 cars from that era!), here are the approximate costs without shipping: Lotus 79: ~270 Euros (keep in mind here that I was new to Bricklink and probably could have optimised the orders with some more planning) Tyrell P34: ~220 Euros There are a few hard-to-get pieces/colors that I substituted to get the same results. Overall I'm really happy with how they turned out and I have to say that the work that RoscoPC put into designing these F1 models is amazing!
