So the new parts in this set are the 2x4 tile, the 1 x 1 brick with stud on side, the 2 x 6 plate with the studs, the rescue net and the hydraulic parts for the ladder? Anything else new in the set? Also, any chance of an image of the sticker sheet & the inventory page in the back of the instructions?

Lots of new items from BrickForge
jonwil replied to LuxorV's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I just LOVE the golf club. Hopefully BrickForge and BrickArms can bring more sports equipment to mass-production (I would LOVE to get my hands on some of those BA cricket bats for one :) -

Great to see so many "civilian" accessories comming from the likes of Brickforge and BrickArms. Baseball bats. Cricket bats (although those arent available except to a select few right now unfortunatly) Golf Clubs. Hand Saws. Sickles. Animals. etc etc. Now we just need someone to do a Hockey Stick (and a Hockey Mask visor/headpiece) for all those horror films with Hockey Mask clad villians :) Me, if I get some money, I am SO going to order from BrickArms and Brickforge (weaponry and otherwise) -
All of Batbrick's Batman figs so far
jonwil replied to Batbrick's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Wow that's a lot of Batman figs. I especially like the way you did Fedora joker (to the untrained eye it almost looks like its a real part :) and the joker with the green Agents hair. -
The #1 problem with TECHNIC lately is that they keep making the same things again and again. Like construction equipment, cranes, farm machinery and other heavy type equipment. The snowplough from this year was a welcome change though. I wish they would make some new stuff or rehashes of older stuff that we havent seen for a while. Examples: New space sets (similar to the 8480 Space Shuttle or the technic Mars Rover) New supercar similar to the 8880, 8480 or 8466 (although TLG may consider the recent technic-scale Ferrari sets as filling that void) More fixed wing aircraft and more boats/watercraft And non-vehicle things like robots, industrial machinery etc.

A hospital done to match the 2008 police station and the 2010 fire station would be GREAT.

Where did you get the 1 x 2 x 3 window in black? I only know of it in white (and the 1 x 2 x 2 window in black)

Best and Worst Set: 2009 Edition

Best sets of 2009: City Corner Emerald Night Worst sets of 2009: Anything with a Clone Wars badge on it :) -
I know of at least one Toyworld that still has stocks of the previous generation fire station(!)
-
Most likely it has to do with retailers who wouldn't sell these older products. That and if they keep the same fire station around for too long, they loose sales as people either say "I already got that one" or "I dont want it", a new fire station may get new sales. (like the 2010 fire station is looking like the first fire station I buy for my collection due to parts selection but the previous fire station is of no interest to me)

Fantasy Creatures in Historic Themes
jonwil replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think what they did in Castle is fine. I dont like the Kraken in the pirates line and think it would have been better looking (and more realistic) if they had used the shark instead (which is already being used in the Brickbeards Bounty) -

Given that the pirate calendar was spotted in Toyworld, maybe the City one will follow suit. -
New element: Brick 1 x 1 with stud on 1 side
jonwil replied to Rick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
This is a NICE part, now if they would make it in green please (in addition to the confirmed white and dark bley) -
Its a new set that hasn't yet been released which is why none of the databases list it yet.

Venice Canal Chase Yellow Lamborghini Sports Car Creator cargo helicopter (anyone seen this lately?) Yellow creator prop plane Red farm tractor Police helicopter City Advent Calendar (anyone seen it anywhere?) -
This picture: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4153759 says that the set contains 43 pieces. How does LEGO count pieces (especially figs)? I am trying to identify all the pieces in this set so I can try and build one from my collection (with whatever colors I have parts for) 2 more pictures if it helps someone help me identify the 43 pieces in this set: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4153766 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4153763

Hit a few places today, the Emerald Nights seem to be VERY limited quantities so grab one (or more) before they disappear. Also, Toyworld in Midland had quite a lot of old stock including: previous City fire station first release Agents sets (the large semi-truck one for example) Star Justice Market Street Sandcrawler special value box with the Darth Vader tie fighter and some other sets in it the current IR passenger train and possibly others that I forgot to make a note of. No sign of the gas station at this particular Toyworld though. Big W had a few discounts (like the City garage for one) Also if anyone wants a Pirates advent calendar, Toyworld had that too. No sign of the City advent calendar, the people at Toyworld said that they didnt know if it was comming or not. They also said that Toyworld will order everything LEGO will sell to them no matter what it is (unlike the big chains that often pick and choose) And more interestingly, Toyworld had the AT-OT and Dropship (and a fair few of them too) but at a price much more than what K-Mart wants for them. -
That's a GREAT moc, are there any close up pics of the red bus?

I am VERY surprised that these sets are going on clearance so soon after their release. I am also worried about what that means for LEGO retailing in general (whether stores are going to stock less in the future) -
Some parts I wish existed: This part http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=52038 in 6 wide (black, dark bley, white, other colors) This part http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=52501 in black This part http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=51739 in black This part http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=51739 but in a 6 x 3 (with matching angle) instead of a 4 x 2 new 6-wide airplane/helicopter front in black with smoke glass other 6-wide airplane bits in black
-
I think the best hope for that is for someone to build it as a custom factory design with LDD (or multiple designs for different parts)

LEGO has the perfect pieces for building a 4-wide plane and an 8-wide plane but does anyone have any ideas how to build one at 6-wide without the need to wait until next year for the new 6-wide parts?
-
Are there any decent pictures of the new blue passenger plane yet? Or is the one picture (as part of the scene from the back of the instructions) all we have?

I use these http://www.fischerplastics.com.au/ProductP...orageBoxes.html for storage of most of my parts. I also have a Plano Tackle Systems 3-tray tackle box that I store some stuff in (It was the first thing I bought when I got into LEGO) For parts I have lots of, I use various sizes of plastic drawer. Large parts like train wagon bases, base plates, ship hulls, large technic wheels and train track get stored in various sizes of large plastic tubs. I also have a large plastic tub for my collection of light and dark bley parts and a drawer for my red brown parts. (although if I keep buying sets like the crawler crane, my tub of bley parts will be full before too long) Have never sorted by color except for the new grays and brown.
