  1. Yeah, a Retravision would fit in a small town (whereas, say, a Harvey Norman would not)
  2. Thats what ya get for buying SONY junk. Do what I did and replace the Sony with a Canon :)
  3. With all the talk about the move to Digital TV and the Analog switch-off, an antenna/digital tv setup/etc van might be the go :)
  4. I got the same piece (with the tubes) in black in the copy of the Horse Trailer set I bought the other day.
  5. My guess is that TLG are discontinuing the classic smile face as a part across the board in favor of the newer heads with the white dots in the eyes etc.
  6. Nice police station, looks perfect for a small country town. Looks just like its been there for years.
  7. It wouldn't surprise me if the POP sets will appear (S@H or retail) closer to the actual release date for the film. Companies like Disney have tight rules about when merchandise matching a film is allowed to be released.
  8. Good call, I actually have a few of those torsos from the Garage I purchased (and sort-of wish I hadn't) Should be great with blue legs, the right head/hair and some nice accessories in his hand (and standing in the right place staring at some crime evidence)
  9. I am finishing out my CSI setup, having added the crime lab to my police precinct and building a modified and elongated 7635 4x4 to serve as the crime scene truck (with crime scene tools like crime scene tape, camera and magnifying glass in the back). But I need to build a scene examiner who can be standing inside the "crime scene tape" and examining the crime scene. I am going to use lt-flesh hands as gloves and will be going through my boxes of heads and hair to find some that works but I am stumped as to what torso would fit. I dont want to use a regular cop torso (as that would look too similar to all the other regular cops). I have been using this torso http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=973pb322c01 on my crime lab guys (who are inside the crime lab) but I am not sure that its appropriate for the scene examiner. Does LEGO make any torsos that would work? Should I consider using one of the minifig vest pieces?
  10. I am referring to transparent stickers, not white. Transparent is better for applying to different colored parts :)
  11. I have just bought some clear A4 sticker labels (the kind one uses to label boxes, envelopes, equipment etc). I own a fairly standard Canon Pixma color Ink-jet printer. Can someone give me tips on how I can print decals onto these labels? Tips on what software (has to be something that costs no money) I can use to produce decals? Links to size guides that I can use to figure out the correct size for parts (such as 2 x 2 tile, 1 x 8 tile, 1 x 4 tile etc)? Tips to match LEGO colors? Tips on getting something that is close to LEGO white using a standard Ink-jet printer that just prints Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black? Anything else I should know about printing on these labels?
  12. I think the Mutt Williams torso from Indiana Jones would make a good bikie.
  13. Interesting to note that the new visor from the Atlantis sets is there but no other Atlantis minifig parts at all. Some nice new parts (like the Hawaiian shirt torso, the handcuffs and the 2 x 2 tile with stud) Wish there was more parts for building trucks larger vehicles such as: the new 2 x 6 plate with the studs facing sideways as seen in the new tanker truck and fire station the 2 x 6 x 2 windscreen in more colors the new 2 x 6 x 3 vertical windscreen the 4 x 6 wedge tile/plate piece commonly used for the hood or roof of vehicles (e.g. the 4x4 in the horse trailer has 2 of them) Also, more torsos would be nice (especially ones that you can use for generic figs in their day to day lives instead of specific occupations like pilots, firemen, cops, construction workers etc. More specifically casual torsos like the planet logo jacket one they added rather than suits are what I want/need more of) Hopefully they will update PAB soon so I can place an order for some of the new parts maybe :) EDIT: Something else I noticed is that they still have the Mr Krabs torso even though its from a license they no longer own (Spongebob) and (I would have thought) counted as a licenced part and therefore not be something they could put on PAB. Plus, its not been in a set for ages.
  14. Having just finished watching not only the Extended Editions of all 3 films but all 6 disks worth of Appendices/extra content, I can say that (with the exception of the hands) it looks GREAT.
  15. Given what the gold price is doing lately, I dont think those "we buy gold" type people need to wait very long before selling the gold they buy :)
  16. Remember that the motorized excavator contains more electric pieces than we have seen in any LEGO set to date except Mindstorms. Its got 2 remotes, 2 receivers, at least one battery box (if not two) plus who knows how many motors to drive all those linear actuators.
  17. Not actually interested in a Fire Brigade at that price. Green Grocer or Grand Emporium maybe but not FB, not enough bits in it I can use :) As for LEGO and their Australian prices, I am surprised they can get away with charging so much. When I look at the prices of many sets (licenced and otherwise) vs the price of other toys including other construction toys and think from the perspective of a parent, I start to think that many parents are going to look at huge prices and buy other toys (and indeed I have seen it happen in LEGO aisles already). I know TLG has all sorts of reasons (demands by big retailers like Wal-Mart, the GFC etc etc) to need to subsidize the US at the expense of other countries but if the high prices continue, they are going to see sales shift to other cheaper toys. Also, retailers will stock less LEGO product and more of other products (including other construction toys such as Mega Blocks, Knex and Trio) I for one have been doing a LOT more bricklink buying and a LOT less purchasing in the shops. There are a number of 2h2010 sets I have been looking at buying but at this point, I will likely just buy the really good bits from Bricklink (and for sets like the Creator jet fighter, I will likely just try to build from my own collection and buy the few parts I dont have rather than spending the 80 bucks or so on the thing). Has anyone else noticed any trends in LEGO sales? Are parents buying LEGO or are they being turned off by the higher prices and buying other toys instead?
  18. I would like to see more civilian cars. For example, take the 4x4 from the 4x4 and horse trailer set and sell that as a set (with a single minifig). Or the yellow car as seen in the most recent Octan gas station. Or other civilian cars that dont require purchasing large sets to get. The Small Car is a good start but more are needed.
  19. Remember that the train includes all the Power Functions parts (including the rechargeable battery). Those are not cheap.
  20. I just with TLG would use ANY color of Bicycle other than red.
  21. Of note is that this gives us rough prices for the train products (the fire products are already on Shop @ Home so we get prices from there) I do hope that someone gets the fire sets as part of the mid-year sales, I want the helicopter and the station.
  22. Nice MOC, you have given me some ideas on how I can build some sports cars in 6-wide for the next train layout we are doing.
  23. Hopefully the Target sale finally means I can get another Horse Trailer at a decent price :)
  24. What brand of beer will your pub sell? VB? Tooheys? XXXX? Carleton? All of the above?
  25. Nice, if I ever build the MOC I have in mind of my uncles outback Sheep Station, I will be building something like this :)
