  1. I agree with the bank idea, perhaps a Bank (or a Post Office) or both could be done as a Modular set...
  2. Whats the difference between the fig from the magnet set and the fig from the rogue shadow?
  3. Has anyone seen the 5867 red Creator sports car for sale or know of an AU release date? None of the places I hit today (a MYER, a Target and 2 Toyworlds) had it. Catalog only shows the green one from last year.
  4. These sets look good. I wish TLG would stop using those stupid lame "scared face" double-sided heads though.
  5. Nice MOC, even better that you could take pictures of the MOC alongside the real thing.
  6. Nice MOC, really captures the spirit of ANZAC day.
  7. 20% off is still a good price if there are any sets (especially any TRU exclusive sets or sets where TRU is the only one with stock) that you want. Now if any of the TRUs in this state had stock of the yellow racers Lamborghini, I would be there first thing tomorrow :) (RRP is too much for this set but 20% off would be GREAT)
  8. Wow that is impressive.
  9. This set is great and I finally obtained the last part I need to build it (one of the yellow 1 x 1 tiles with the buttons) so now I can build every Aquanauts and Aquasharks set. Of note is that the Trans-Dark Blue Windscreen 5 x 8 x 3 is unique to the Crystal Explorer Sub (and only appeared in 2 other sets, one in Trans-Light Blue and one in Clear) Also, the Yellow Cockpit 11 x 4 x 2 2/3 Inverted Slope is exclusive to this set
  10. Here is a MOC of an ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) news truck. Its not based off any specific ABC truck, just built based on looking at pictures of real news trucks online. Side of truck: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/news/abc001.jpg Other side: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/news/abc002.jpg Back (with doors): http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/news/abc003.jpg Roof (with sattelite dish): http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/news/abc004.jpg Front: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/news/abc005.jpg Inside: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/news/abc006.jpg Console: (including monitors, tape recorder, sattelite up-link control and clock) http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/news/abc007.jpg Console operator: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/news/abc008.jpg The guy with the baseball cap is the driver and news cameraman. The guy with the black hair sitting at the console is the console operator. The other guy (with the brown hair) is the news reporter. The ABC logos are custom stickers (my first attempt at doing such stickers)
  11. I would love a 2 x 2 plate with a hole in the center (like the 2 x 4 technic plate only 2 x 2). And the same but in a tile.
  12. Its flexible up to a point. It uses technic plates with holes (the grey bits) and some technic hose. The yellow bits are technic half bushings. the black bits are tiles. My goal is to make it as realistic as I can at the scale I am building at :)
  13. Already been working on a Bus Depot, got a bus wash, refueling point, driver break room, reception/security and driver loo.
  14. Here are some WIP pictures of my Mercedes Benz O305G articulated bus in Transperth colors. Side view: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/O...uswip_doors.jpg Other side: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/O...buswip_side.jpg Rear side: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/O...p_rear_side.jpg Rear door: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/O...p_rear_door.jpg Front side: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/O..._front_side.jpg Other front side: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/O..._front_door.jpg Front interior: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/O...front_seats.jpg Front stairs: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/O...ront_stairs.jpg Front of bus: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/O...uswip_front.jpg Rear interior: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/O..._rear_seats.jpg Rear stairs: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/O..._rear_steps.jpg Rear roof with air conditioning unit: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/O...p_rear_roof.jpg Rear of bus: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/O...buswip_rear.jpg Bellows area: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/O...lows_inside.jpg Bellows top: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/O...p_bellows_2.jpg Bellows side: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/O...p_bellows_1.jpg Driver in his seat: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/O...swip_driver.jpg Drivers seat: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/O...driver_seat.jpg Driver front view: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jonwil/O...ip_driver_2.jpg Note the fire extinguisher, ticket machine and the control panel for the bus (for an old bus like this, that piece with the switches fits perfectly IMO) and 2-way radio. The drivers uniform was selected as something that looks as close to the real thing as possible (including the dark green pants) whilst still being easy to obtain (as I need multiple drivers for my various bus related projects) I am intending to make some stickers for this bus, including destination stickers for the black bricks on the front, side and rear as well as Transperth logos in various places Any feedback on how to make this model better would be appreciated. (especially ideas on how to make the bellows look more realistic and/or work better) Advice on how to print white (or as close to white as you can get) on clear sticker paper with my Canon ink jet printer would be nice also. Here are pictures of the bus I am basing this model on: http://picasaweb.google.com.au/jfwfreo/Bpswa# http://www.perthbus.info/gallery.php?vid=TP472# Many thanks to the Bus Preservation Society of Western Australia for allowing me to visit them and take lots of photos of their preserved O305G (the first link is photos taken inside the BPSWA shed and the second link is photos of the same bus when it was in route service)
  15. I need to build me an Ecto-1 to go with the equipment I bought from BrickForge.
  16. I also wish for a 1 x 4 x 2 window in the new window series. And an 8-wide version of the 1 x 6 x 3 flat windscreen (in clear and trans-black please) Also, the 1 x 6 x 3 windscreen in clear please.
  17. Yet another "rip-off" by TRU. Their so-called "clearance" price is just the Shop @ Home price (and presumably therefore the .au RRP) My guess for the best way to get one is to wait for a k-mart sale (do those happen anymore?) and find a k-mart with one in stock. But it would probably be easier to buy the "good bits" (such as that clear dome piece) from Bricklink and ignore the set :P
  18. Can anyone tell me the best place to find an Anakins Y-Wing? (in Perth if that matters) Who has the best price? Who is most likely to actually have one on the shelf? Should I wait for a sale before jumping? (normally I dont buy Starwars because of the "Lucas Tax" but this set has too many cool parts and I just have to jump before its too late)
  19. Me, I want all the skaters I can get, that torso will be great for teenagers, young adults etc (heck, I would wear such a thing myself) all over my MOCs. Legs are perfect for a nice pair of denim jeans.
  20. I wish for this part: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2436 only with the part that faces sideways being as thick as a regular plate. I also wish for a part that's like this one: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=87609 but it is only 1 x 6 instead of 2 x 6
  21. Nice MOC, I love the use of the handcuffs piece as a bike chain (I have seen real police use handcuffs as bike chain, although the security comes from not just the cuffs but the fact that the bike says "police" all over it :)
  22. Great use of the army men parts, would look perfect in a World War 2 movie being driving by an American officer.
  23. I believe he was referring to a crossing track, not a level crossing. 9 volt had a crossing track but RC did not.
  24. We have those same "CILLET BANG" ads here in Australia (although the product is called something different I think) and yes they are annoying. Most ads for insurance in all its forms annoy the hell out of me (especially funeral insurance, life insurance and income protection insurance)
  25. If its something I am building for the club layout, it gets built and eventually photographed (I have a pile of MOCs dating back to about January that need to be photographed) and then it sits around built until the layout, after which its disassembled. If its something that doesn't end up on the layout (e.g. there is nowhere suitable to put it), it gets disassembled so the bits can be used in MOCs that will go on the layout.
