I have received a number of inquiries from people interested in my Transperth Mercedes Benz OC500LE bus model (mostly from people who are in some way connected with Transperth such as drivers, former drivers, enthusiasts etc and who are not LEGO fans/dont know much about LEGO or Bricklink or etc) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=394017 and am thinking of turning it into a custom kit. Does anyone have any tips on doing this? How can I figure out what price I should charge? Should I buy parts for x number of kits first and then base the price on <total cost of the parts> / <number of kits>? How can I avoid the need to spend 100s of dollars up front on parts (money I cant really afford to spend) and then having to wait to get money from the interested parties. Should I buy sets to obtain the parts I need? (mostly I need lots of dark grey parts such as plates and bricks) Should I buy from Shop @ Home PAB? (which has 90% of the parts I need on it)

Has anyone see the level crossing yet or is it just the passenger train and train station that are out so far? And which kingdoms sets have been seen so far (are the 2 impulse sets comming to .AU?) -
I created a health spa moc (but with no interior) which is being featured on the current club train layout.

If you have parents who complain about you buying LEGO and think its a "waste of money" or whatever, a good response might be (depending on the parents) "would you rather I spend that money on drugs or booze or junk food or heavy metal music" (substitute as appropriate for the situation)

LEGO 8684 Minifigures Series 2 (Official Pictures)
jonwil replied to GRogall's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Nice, these pictures have confirmed that this series will be even better than the first. Only thing I dont see is the ticket thing in the hand of the cop (just the handcuffs). I for one intend to buy quite a few of these although the only ones I can see myself wanting multiples of are the surfer and skier. With the clown from series 1 and the ringmaster and strongman from series 2, we are well on the way to having a full circus :) -

For those in Perth, come to the showground this weekend to check out the Perth Adult Lego Society layout which is on display at the model train show. -
As an Aussie and a supporter of the little guy, I give 3 points to the Eureka Stockade.

You will need to try Target to find them. Inaloo or Morley or somewhere like that. Or you can try Toyworld if you can get to one (but Toyworld will charge more than Target) -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
jonwil replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
My guess is that the limits (at lego.com, at lego stores and at some other retailers) are simply to stop the scalping that has been going on where people are buying large amounts (even whole boxes) and either selling the bags unopened or opening them and selling the figs. -
Help identifying possible sets in this lot?
jonwil replied to JamesBenjamin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The black printed piece with the car headlamps is from this police station http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=6332-1 along with the police printed bits and trans-green bits (like the window in the top left corner) and lots of the white parts The large green things come from a Flying Ninja Fortress (along with the Ninja fig and other parts I can see in the bags) http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=6093-1 There are also parts from either an Imperial Inspection http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7264-1 or an Imperial Shuttle http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7166-1 including the white square cockpit piece and the large white wing piece. Cant see enough parts in the bags to tell which one it is. There are parts from a Jedi Starfighter http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7256-1 in there too (like the yellow things) Definitly parts from a Clone Turbo Tank in there (cant tell if its the light-up Mace Windu version or not), no sign of parts from an X-Wing though (the parts you thought were from an X-Wing are probably from the Imperial Shuttle) -

25% off LEGO at DJs would be good if they actually had any stock worth buying :P -

I have also noticed that if you use your teeth to tear open the bag, it has a funny taste to it (presumably connected to the smell) -

well Clone-Trooper said something about the products arriving for their stock-take sale, presumably he wouldn't have posted it if it wasnt reliable info. -

MYER perth CBD had no new stock (no flagships, no fire stations, no TS3, no SPIII) For those with DJs cards though, DJs still has 25% off and the Perth CBD store had stock of the Toy Story train, dump truck and crane thing as well as all 5 SPIII sets (rapid vpr, smash & grab, limo, undercover ship and base) Is it confirmed that the only new things MYER are getting for their sale are the Flagship and Fire Brigade (and the SP3 and TS3 stuff)? Also does anyone know what price the FB will be during the sale? (trying to figure out if its worth picking up a FB for parts) -

Lets hope MYER has the new stock out when I go tomorrow to hit the 25% off thing. Do we have any more news on exactly when and where the Grand Emporium will hit? The rumor said David Jones but I havent seen any indications of a date... -

For those in Perth, Target CBD had a whole pile of the collectible figs left (they are in the LEGO section so there should be no problems sitting there checking the bar codes for the one you want like I did) Also went to K-Mart and Big W in Belmont, neither had anything notable (no sign of the SPIII base, limo or undercover set out here yet) but Big W did have a bunch of the Toy Story train (in case people are looking and cant find any at K-Mart) -
Very nice helicopter. A little tweaking and the right parts and stickers and you could turn it into a perfect police helicopter :)

Great job, cant wait to see what you do with the Magician (the hardest one to use in multiples)

I doubt LEGO has a license to produce a Star Wars chess set.

I want more blond (i.e. tan) hairpieces. Like this one for example http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=62810

Must find out what time this is happening for MYER in Perth. (being that our backwards-thinking state government wont follow the eastern states and deregulate trading hours, MYER cant open at 5:30 on a Saturday) Lets hope we get some new stock for the mid-year sales (some new City stuff would be good like the Fire stuff or the Pig Farmer) -
Yeah, if it had been going in the layout I would have added some plants and things in the spaces between the holes.

Here are pictures of my 9-hole Crazy Golf Course I made. It was intended to go on the next club layout but there is no room for it. Credits to BrickForge for making the excellent Golf Club accessories I used. Hole 1 is next to the pro shop and features some bumpers you have to hit past. Hole 2 features a classic Crazy Golf staple, the Windmill. Hit the ball under the windmill to reach the hole. Hole 3 features a canon, shoot under the canon to make it go boom. Then shoot over (and then under) the bridge. Hole 4 has a hill, shoot up the hill to reach the hole. Hole 5 shoot under the house. For Hole 6 you have to shoot past the asteroid and under the robot For Hole 7 you have to hit it into the jaws of the snapping crocodile whereupon it will come out of the swinging tail and (if you have timed it right) into the hole. Hole 8 has another hill, this time you have to hit it so that it goes over the hill but doesn't fall into the gap at the end behind the bumpers. and finally for hole 9 you have to hit it under the skull (complete with glowing red eyes) Please let me know what you think. (but note that I cant take more pictures as I have already disassembled the MOC)
