  1. Its a pity that they didnt make it more "random" (i.e. 3 complete sets plus a totally random selection for the remaining figs). My guess is that packing it random would have been more expensive (and would have not given the "some figs are rarer than others" effect that TLG wants) The bad news is that this confirms that the skateboarder (the only one I really want multiples of) will be harder to get :( When I see one of these boxes I will feel the packets and take all the skateboarders I can get (i.e. all 3 from the box unless one has gone prior to that)
  2. The grey parts seem to be this one: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=33243 Each stand has 4 of them visible in the picture A little bit disappointing that they didnt use a real shuttle name on there (like they did with the 7470) but maybe NASA wouldn't let them use the names or any NASA logos, if you look at the logos on the torso and the wing and the car thing, you can see they are different to any NASA logo. Or maybe they didnt want to make it representative of any specific shuttle mission. Given that the doors open, maybe there is a robot arm inside.
  3. That isn't brown, that's dark red. Bricklink shows that the part does not exist in brown (none in any sets in the BL database, none for sale and none listed for the price guide)
  4. Can we get an answer from TLG as to whether the new train sets (passenger train and cargo train) contain a rechargeable battery box or a battery box that takes normal batteries (and if it takes normal batteries what size and how many)
  5. K-Mart comming out with the City Fire product in the mid-year sales would be GREAT (especially if I can pick up the station and the helicopter on the cheap) I suspect K-Mart will also get the Rebel Blockade Runner as an exclusive. (given that they seem to get all of the "exclusive" starwars sets and had both the Death Star and AT-OT last year along with the UCS falcon a few years back) MYER or possibly David Jones is likely to pick up the Imperial Flagship (DJs is getting the Grand Emporium later so MYER seems a better fit for the Flagship) If the Winter Toy Shop comes down under, I can forsee maybe DJs getting it. Based on previous years, the Star Wars stuff will likely be spread evenly around the retailers with different stores getting exclusives. Kingdoms to me seems like it will come out in one store first (Target maybe like Pirates last year) and then appear in other stores later on.
  6. Anyone annoyed at the prices K-Mart has for POP, vote with your feet and buy from Toyworld or Target or anyone selling it cheaper. You should never need to pay more than RRP for a set that's available at retail with the possible exception of store exclusives (like all those "only at TRU" sets)
  7. Nice review, I cant wait for these to hit Australia (so I can finally add a Jesters Hat to my collection :)
  8. Does anyone have a release date for the 5867 Super Speedster in Australia or know where I can get one? Or an Australian RRP for it?
  9. Now the question is, do I buy this or the Grand Emporium... On the one hand, I already own the 7470. But on the other hand, this looks so COOL. Will have to see more pictures (and hopefully an inventory) before I jump I think.
  10. I suspect (given that this set contains the blind drivers when it doesn't use them and given the numbers molded into both parts) that the both the flanged and blind drivers are in the same mould with a 2:1 ratio (2 flanged to 1 blind)
  11. You could always wait for them to come out in Australia later this month and have someone ship you a case full...
  12. Spotted all the POP sets in the K-Mart in Carousel. May be a better option than Toyworld to get them. No sign of anything else new (no Minifigures and no Pig Farm seen in the west yet) BTW if you want the Wind Turbine Transport and havent picked it up yet, get one ASAP (assuming there is a BIG W in your area that still has stock), its still at the lower price from earlier in the year (or was last week when I bought one from the last BIG W in perth with stock left)
  13. I have a Visa Debit card and use that to buy stuff from Shop @ Home.
  14. I wish QANTAS had these promos so I could get one next time I fly. But it seems like the only way to get one is to fly an European airline :(
  15. I would never buy a set to resell later, I prefer to buy sets for my own collection. And to buy sets before they disappear from the shelves. (although some sets seem to come and go from the Australian market very quickly like the Racers Lamborghini)
  16. The Fire Brigade IS available at Toys R Us.
  17. If it wasnt for the news of the Grand Emporium hitting retail later in the year, I would put in a Shop @ Home order to get one...
  18. It reminds me a lot of the blue pickup in the recent Garage set.
  19. Try your local Toyworld and ask if they will be getting stock in.
  20. Why would a set be available in one country but not another when all deliveries for Shop @ Home to Europe come from the exact same warehouse?
  21. Great to see this stuff, still wish I could get some of the BA cricket bats though :P

    City 2010

That set is definatly going on my wishlist, its MUCH better to me than the Apple Tree House in terms of usefull parts :)
  23. Thats great if they are appearing this month, it means I can get some (I especially want all the skateboarders I can get my hands on as well as a magician and maybe others) in time to use them on the next club train layout (over the June long weekend)
  24. Do we have a confirmed release date for the collectible minifigs? There have been all kinds of rumors about different stores getting them (Toyworld, TRU, MYER) and different dates but do we have anything confirmed or is it still rumors at this time? Do we have any news on the price of these things yet?
  25. I havent seen these anywhere in Australia yet, if someone has I wanna know about it so I can get some :)
